Abstract

Anemia in pregnant women remains a public health problem that can have adverse effects on both the mother and the fetus, especially in the second and third trimesters when iron requirements increase. Factors that play a role in the occurrence of anemia include the level of knowledge and dietary patterns of pregnant women. This study aimed to determine the relationship between knowledge and dietary patterns and the occurrence of anemia in pregnant women in the second and third trimesters in the working area of Penarik Health Center in 2025. This study used an analytical observational design with a cross-sectional approach. The population in this study was all pregnant women in the second and third trimesters in the working area of Penarik Health Center, with a sample size of 45 respondents taken using purposive sampling technique. Data were collected through questionnaires to measure knowledge and dietary patterns, as well as hemoglobin level examination to determine the occurrence of anemia. Data analysis was carried out univariately and bivariately using the Chi-Square test. The results showed that the majority of respondents had sufficient knowledge (40.0%), good dietary patterns (57.8%), and did not experience anemia (53.3%). Bivariate analysis results showed a significant relationship between knowledge and the occurrence of anemia in pregnant women in the second and third trimesters (p < 0.000), and there was a significant relationship between dietary patterns and the occurrence of anemia (p = 0.008). The conclusion of this study is that there is a meaningful relationship between knowledge and dietary patterns and the occurrence of anemia in pregnant women in the second and third trimesters in the working area of Penarik Health Center. It is expected that health workers can increase health education and nutrition counseling for pregnant women as an effort to prevent anemia during pregnancy.

Abstract

Back pain is one of the most common complaints experienced by pregnant women in their third trimester due to physiological changes, posture, and weight gain during pregnancy. One non-pharmacological measure that can be taken to reduce back pain is prenatal exercise. This study aims to determine the effect of prenatal exercise on back pain among third trimester pregnant women in the Working Area of Teras Terunjam Health Center. This study used a quantitative method with a quasi-experimental design using a one-group pretest and posttest design. The population in this study consisted of all pregnant women in their third trimester with a gestational age of 28–30 weeks in the working area of Teras Terunjam Health Center, with a sample size of 32 respondents selected using total sampling technique. The research instrument used was the Numeric Rating Scale (NRS) to measure the level of back pain before and after performing pregnancy exercises. Pregnancy exercises were performed twice a week for two weeks. Data analysis was performed using the Paired Sample T-Test because the data was normally distributed with a significance level of α = 0.05. Based on the results of the study, before the pregnancy exercises were carried out, half of the pregnant respondents experienced moderate back pain, namely 16 people (50%). After the pregnancy exercises were carried out, most of the respondents experienced mild back pain, namely 22 people (68.8%). The statistical test results showed a p-value of 0.000 (p < 0.05), which means that there is a significant effect of pregnancy exercises on reducing back pain in third trimester pregnant women. The conclusion of this study is that pregnancy exercises have a significant effect on reducing back pain in third trimester pregnant women. Health workers are advised to increase education and implementation of prenatal exercises on a regular basis as an effort to improve the comfort and health of pregnant women.

Abstract

This study aims to explore healthcare workers’ readiness and acceptance toward the implementation of Electronic Medical Records (EMR) using a qualitative approach. A descriptive exploratory design was employed to gain an in-depth understanding of healthcare workers’ experiences and perceptions. Data were collected through semi-structured in-depth interviews with healthcare workers, including doctors, nurses, and medical record staff, selected using purposive sampling. The data were analyzed using thematic analysis. The findings revealed that healthcare workers generally have positive perceptions of EMR, particularly in improving efficiency, data accuracy, and quality of healthcare services. However, variations in acceptance and readiness were identified, influenced by factors such as perceived usefulness, perceived ease of use, organizational support, and individual technological readiness. Several challenges were also found, including limited training, technical issues, and inadequate infrastructure. The results are interpreted using the Technology Acceptance Model (TAM), Theory of Planned Behavior (TPB), and Technology Readiness Index (TRI), which provide a comprehensive understanding of factors influencing EMR implementation. This study highlights the importance of system usability, organizational support, and continuous training in enhancing healthcare workers’ readiness and acceptance. Strengthening these aspects is essential to ensure effective and sustainable EMR implementation in healthcare settings.

Abstract

Second-degree burns are tissue injuries that cause disruption of skin integrity, severe pain, and a high risk of infection. Burn management requires adequate wound care and effective pain control. Silver sulfadiazine dressings function as antimicrobial agents to prevent infection, while Qur’anic murottal therapy serves as auditory distraction to reduce pain perception through relaxation mechanisms and decreased physiological stress responses. This case study aims to describe the combination of murottal therapy and silver dressing in pain management and wound care for a second-degree burn using a biopsychospiritual approach in a patient with 22.5% TBSA second-degree burns on days 7 to 10 of treatment. Interventions included daily wound care with topical silver sulfadiazine and sterile dressings, as well as murottal therapy of Surah Ar-Rahman for approximately 15 minutes before, during, and 30 minutes after wound care. Evaluation was conducted using the Bates-Jensen Wound Assessment Tool (BWAT) and Numeric Rating Scale (NRS) over four days. The results showed that the wound was in the early proliferative phase with a stable BWAT score of 27 and no signs of secondary infection. Pain scores decreased gradually throughout the intervention, with an average reduction of two points after each session, accompanied by increased relaxation and comfort following wound care. The combination of silver dressing and murottal therapy in this case helped control pain and supported the wound healing process both physiologically and psychologically.

Abstract

Patients with Diabetes Mellitus (DM) and hypertension are at high risk of impaired renal function and fluid retention, leading to hypervolemia and peripheral edema. This condition reduces comfort and physical function. Non-pharmacological interventions, such as limb elevation, are important nursing actions to reduce interstitial fluid accumulation. This case study aimed to analyze the effect of 30° hand elevation on reducing edema grade in a patient with hypervolemia due to chronic disease. A qualitative descriptive case study design was used with a single subject (Mrs. E, 53 years old) in the inpatient ward of RSUD Welas Asih. The intervention was performed for 15 minutes, four times daily, over three days, alongside collaborative therapy including furosemide infusion and fluid restriction. Results showed a progressive reduction in edema from grade 4 to grade 2 by the third day, indicating improved venous and lymphatic return. These findings suggest that 30° hand elevation is a simple, safe, and effective independent nursing intervention to reduce upper extremity edema in hypervolemic patients and can be integrated with pharmacological therapy under proper supervision.

Abstract

Prenatal exercise is a beneficial form of physical activity because it develops body muscles, increases the elasticity of pelvic floor muscles and ligaments, reduces bleeding during and after delivery, and can reduce the incidence of fetal distress. Exercise is also a form of coping that can prevent physical stress caused by pregnancy, such as reducing leg and back cramps and improving the mother's ability to adapt to changes in her body. This study was a descriptive correlational study using a cross-sectional design. The independent variables were the knowledge and motivation of pregnant women, while the dependent variable was the implementation of prenatal classes. The sampling technique used was total sampling, with a sample size of 55 pregnant women. Data collection used a questionnaire. Data analysis used univariate and bivariate methods. The results of the univariate analysis showed that the majority of pregnant women in the Megang Sakti Health Center had good knowledge of prenatal exercise (44 women, 80.0%). 39 (70.9%) of pregnant women were highly motivated to attend prenatal classes, and 26 (47.3%) of pregnant women attended prenatal classes. The bivariate analysis yielded a p-value of 0.013, indicating a relationship between knowledge and prenatal class implementation. A significant result was also obtained with a p-value of 0.016, indicating a correlation between prenatal motivation and prenatal class implementation (p<0.05). Given the importance of prenatal exercise for maternal health, it is hoped that community health centers, as primary care providers, will be able to increase health promotion about prenatal exercise, facilitate prenatal exercise activities, and encourage community support for regular prenatal exercise activities.
