Abstract

Learning concentration is the ability of students to focus their attention during the learning process. Learning concentration is influenced by various factors, one of which is the learning method used by the teacher. This study aims to analyze students’ learning concentration and its relationship with learning methods at MIS Asy-Sya’ban Karangsari. This research used a qualitative descriptive approach with teachers as the main informants. Data collection techniques were carried out through semi-structured interviews and non-participant observation. Data analysis used the Miles, Huberman, and Saldana model through data condensation, data display, and data verification. The results showed that students’ learning concentration is influenced by teacher readiness, the learning atmosphere, and the learning methods applied. Directed, varied, and interactive learning methods were able to improve students’ attention, participation, responsibility, and focus during the learning process. In addition, active and responsive teachers also help create a conducive learning environment so that students’ learning concentration can be maintained properly. This study is expected to serve as a reference for teachers.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the condition of learning literacy among elementary school students in developing reading comprehension at MIS Asy-Sya’ban Karangsari. This research employed a qualitative method with a case study approach to gain an in-depth understanding of students’ learning literacy conditions based on actual classroom practices. The data sources were teachers and students of MIS Asy-Sya’ban Karangsari. Data were collected through semi-structured interviews and non-participant observation, while data validity was tested using source triangulation, method triangulation, and time triangulation. Data analysis referred to the Miles and Huberman model, which consists of data condensation, data display, and data verification. The findings revealed that students’ learning literacy had not been optimally developed, particularly in reading and understanding learning materials. Students tended to become bored easily when reading long texts and showed greater interest in learning activities that involved visual, interactive, and digital media. The use of learning media such as instructional videos, PowerPoint, flipbook, and smartphones in learning activities was able to increase students’ attention, participation, and understanding of the material. However, low reading interest, the habit of obtaining instant information, and limited learning facilities remained obstacles in supporting students’ reading comprehension skills. Therefore, appropriate learning strategies are needed to integrate literacy activities with engaging learning media that suit the characteristics of elementary school students.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the representation of Bonokeling traditions in the digital space and to examine the opportunities and challenges faced by the indigenous community in the process of cultural digitalization amid the growing influence of information technology on cultural practices and interactions. This research employs a qualitative approach using a digital ethnography method. Data were collected through online participant observation, in-depth interviews with customary leaders, youth, and community social media managers, digital documentation, and a literature review. Data analysis was conducted using an interactive model through the stages of data reduction, data display, and conclusion drawing, and employed visual and narrative discourse analysis. The results show that the representation of Bonokeling traditions in the digital space is dominated by the visualization of rituals, traditional symbols, and the daily activities of the community. The digital space is interpreted as a medium for cultural preservation and a means of strengthening cultural identity, particularly among the younger generation. However, digitalization also gives rise to challenges such as the reduction of sacred meaning, the commodification of tradition, and identity negotiation between customary values and the logic of modernity. This study emphasizes the importance of managing cultural representation wisely to ensure that the digitalization of tradition remains grounded in local wisdom values

Abstract

The Industry 4.0 era introduces challenges such as massive automation and intense competition, which risk triggering individualistic behaviors and a decline in empathy among engineering students. This study aims to analyze the phenomenon of individualism explicitly finding that concerns regarding widespread individualistic attitudes are unfounded and formulate strategies for implementing Pancasila values within the Mechatronics Engineering learning process. The research method employed is a descriptive qualitative method. Data collection was carried out through the observation of laboratory activities, curriculum documentation studies, and in-depth interviews with active students as the primary informants. The results indicate that apathetic behavior among students in classes and laboratories is considerably low due to the implementation of Project-Based Learning methods. Group assignments in complex practical sessions, such as PLC programming and three-phase electric motor installation, naturally compel students to interact and implement the values of mutual cooperation (gotong royong), which reflects the Third Principle. Furthermore, the internalization of Pancasila values and empathy (Second Principle) manifests organically through social solidarity outside of lecture hours, such as peer-to-peer learning initiatives, informal social gatherings, and attending seniors' graduation ceremonies. The study concludes that the integration of structured group assignments combined with independent social solidarity effectively serves as a national character bulwark to mitigate the adverse impacts of digital-era competition.

Abstract

Infant sleep quality is an important factor that supports the process of growth and development. Babies with poor sleep quality tend to be fussy, often wake up during the night, and feel uncomfortable while resting. One non-pharmacological approach that can be used to improve sleep quality and reduce fussiness in babies is infant massage. This study aims to determine the effectiveness of infant massage in enhancing sleep quality and reducing fussiness in Baby Ny. M at PMB Bd. Fitri Yani, S. Keb Pekanbaru. The research method used was a case study with a midwifery care approach. Data collection was carried out through interviews, observations, and monitoring of the baby's sleep patterns before and after the baby massage. The intervention was carried out routinely according to baby massage procedures. The results of the study showed an improvement in the quality of the baby's sleep after baby massage, characterized by longer sleep duration, deeper sleep, reduced frequency of waking at night, and the baby appeared calmer and less fussy. According to Mrs. M, the baby's mother, the baby's condition became more comfortable, cried less often, and was able to rest more easily after being given a massage. In addition to providing benefits for the baby, this condition also helps the mother in taking care of the baby so that she is not too overwhelmed. It can be concluded that giving a baby massage is effective in helping reduce fussiness in the baby and improving the baby's sleep quality to be more sound, comfortable, and of good quality.

Abstract

The rapid development of generative Artificial Intelligence (AI) technology in Indonesia not only facilitates human activities but also poses serious threats through the massive production and dissemination of hoaxes in digital spaces. This article aims to analyze the mechanisms of generative AI technology (such as deepfakes and disinformation bots) in producing hoaxes, map the legal and ethical responsibilities of relevant actors, evaluate the readiness of national regulations and digital literacy, and formulate systemic solutions. This paper employs a mixed-methods approach, combining secondary content analysis of 5,000 verified hoax posts (quantitative) with a normative juridical method through legislative analysis (qualitative). The findings reveal that platform recommendation algorithms accelerate the spread of hoaxes up to six times faster than authentic news, driven by automated bot activity (61% of viral trends) and a 550% surge in deepfake content. Furthermore, a legal vacuum exists, as the Electronic Information and Transactions Law (UU ITE) and the Personal Data Protection Law (UU PDP) have yet to specifically regulate the accountability of developers, platforms, or users in AI governance. This article recommends the implementation of a hybrid verification system (AI NLP with 92–97% accuracy combined with human fact-checkers), the establishment of adaptive regulations mandating algorithmic transparency, the creation of an independent supervisory body, and the acceleration of national digital literacy programs.

Abstract

The rapid development of artificial intelligence (AI) in Indonesia has sparked diverse public reactions on social media, with some expressions degenerating into hate speech beyond constructive criticism. This study aims to identify and classify forms of hate speech against the use of AI on platform X (Twitter) and to analyze its perlocutionary impact on public perception of the technology. A descriptive-qualitative approach based on Searle's speech act theory is employed, focusing on illocutionary classification and the analysis of perlocutionary impact, with the locutionary level serving as a contextual framework. Data were collected through a targeted sampling of 37 posts on X containing negative reactions to the use of AI, gathered between 2023 and 2026. The analysis shows that hate speech against AI manifests itself in five illocutionary categories: assertive (40%), expressive (28%), directive (36%), commissive (20%), and declarative (24%), with directive and assertive acts being the most frequent. The identified perlocutionary effects include the reinforcement of fear-based narratives about AI, the emergence of social polarization between AI users and opponents, and pressure to conform in the digital sphere. These findings suggest that hate speech against AI is not merely an expression of individual dissatisfaction but a discursive practice that shapes the collective perception of technology. This research contributes to the development of frameworks for digital literacy and AI governance policies in Indonesia by providing a pragmatic-linguistic perspective that has been largely absent from previous sentiment-based research

Abstract

The rapid growth of online lending platforms in Indonesia has created new challenges in the form of systemic debt trap risks due to low financial literacy and cognitive biases. This study aims to analyze the influence of the illusion of numeracy on perceptions of online loan interest rates and its impact on the accumulation of compound debt. Using a qualitative method with a descriptive-analytical approach, data were collected through in-depth interviews with three categories of informants: mathematics students, non-mathematics students, and the general public. The findings reveal a strong phenomenon of the numeracy illusion, where informants tend to get trapped by the framing of small nominal numbers (daily interest) without converting time units or understanding the exponential nature of compound interest. Most informants use a linear thinking approach in estimating interest burdens, causing them to underestimate total financial obligations. This study concludes that critical mathematical literacy is not merely the ability to perform calculations, but rather the foundation of rationality in decision-making within the digital ecosystem. These results recommend the need for a mathematics education model that is more relevant to the contemporary financial context, as well as more transparent consumer protection policies.

Abstract

The demutualization of the Indonesia Stock Exchange (IDX) has triggered a paradigm shift, transforming the exchange from a non-profit organization into a profit-oriented corporate entity. However, this transformation carries a latent risk of regulatory capture, where the exchange's supervisory functions are vulnerable to being co-opted by commercial interests in pursuit of listing fees. This article analyzes the failure of the current Self-Regulatory Organization (SRO) structure in mitigating institutional conflicts of interest, as evidenced by the declining trend in issuers' fundamental quality amidst aggressive IPO growth. Utilizing normative legal research and a comparative approach with the Australian Securities Exchange (ASX), this study finds that separating supervisory functions through an independent authority is an absolute prerequisite for market integrity. This article reconstructs the urgency of establishing an Independent Listing Authority (ILA) in Indonesia as a juridical firewall. This solution aims to sever the regulator's financial dependence on issuers, ensuring that listing decisions are based entirely on legal compliance and investor protection rather than the exchange's financial performance targets.

Abstract

This study aims to examine the challenges of youth leadership regeneration in the Salvation Army Church of Pematang Siantar Corps using the perspective of Max Weber's authority theory. Through a descriptive qualitative approach using interview and questionnaire methods, this study found a clash between the church's rigid legal-rational authority structure and the sociological reality of today's youth. Senior leaders tend to perceive the lack of participation as apathy and shifting priorities among working youth. However, the data reveals that youth are actually experiencing a crisis of self-confidence, constrained by rigid hierarchical rules, and lacking youth role models. The novelty of this research lies in offering a resolution to this bureaucratic conflict through a structured mentoring approach and the implementation of Servant Leadership. In conclusion, regeneration will not be effective solely by relying on a formal bureaucratic system; it fundamentally requires holistic guidance, a personal approach, and the humility of leaders to embrace the next generation.
