Abstract

This research designs and develops a web-based Geographic Information System (GIS) for event mapping and traffic diversion for annual festivals in Banyuwangi Regency. The main objective is to simplify access to information related to festivals, routes, and traffic diversions for tourists, the general public, and Transportation Agency staff. Thus, this system is designed to assist in preventing traffic congestion and improving safety during festivals. The research methodology follows the Waterfall model, which consists of five steps: needs analysis, system design, development, testing and evaluation, and system deployment along with maintenance. Data collection was conducted through desk research and field research using observation, interviews, and document collection. The system interface consists of a main menu and four features: homepage, routes, paths, and festival information. This GIS integrates spatial data (maps) and non-spatial data (information about the festival) to provide unique visualizations that can be accessed online. This system is expected to assist the Transportation Agency in traffic management, provide safety for road users, and enable a more systematic and efficient management of annual festivals.

Abstract

Public complaints are an important means of improving the quality of public services. However, many people are still reluctant to submit their complaints for fear of their identities being revealed or receiving threats from the reported party. Furthermore, the lack of satisfaction with the follow-up of reports from the administrator also reduces the level of public participation. The existing web-based complaint application does not provide an anonymous feature, making the public feel insecure. This study aims to design a web-based public complaint application with an anonymous feature equipped with a unique code to maintain the privacy of the reporter. This study uses a Waterfall model software development approach that includes stages such as planning, needs analysis, design, implementation, and system testing. The result of this study is a design of an anonymous public complaint information system that can improve the sense of security, effectiveness, and efficiency of public services at the Banyuwangi Regency Communications and Information Service.

Abstract

Occupational Safety and Health (OSH) is an essential aspect in the work environment of PT PLN (Persero) UP3 Banyuwangi. Up to now, OSH implementation has only been carried out manually through attendance checks, visual inspections, and oral reporting, which have not been documented in a database system. This study aims to design a web-based OSH self-assessment system called Safety Vision Control. In this study, self-assessment in understood as the overall process of workers’ self-input before starting work activities, consisting of visual input based on Computer Vision, facial photo capture for expression detection, full-body photo capture for Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) inspection, as well as questionnaire-based input, namely the completion of several questions referred to as the self-check questions feature, which adapts the concept of “5 step to safety” to assess physical condition and work readiness. All of these date are integrated to determine work eligibility. This study employs a qualitative descriptive method using observation, interviews, and literature review techniques. The design outputs include process flow, website interface, and system modeling using UML (use case diagram, activity diagram, sequence diagram, and class diagram). This design is expected to improve the objectivity, efficiency, and documentation of OSH implementation, while also assisting supervisors in making quicker decisions in the field.

Abstract

Currently, technological developments are rapid and dynamic. The manual systems currently in use are deemed inadequate to handle the workload, particularly for routine terminal activities such as recording bus data, monitoring departure schedules, and monitoring arrivals. This situation has prompted the need for a computerized system. Sritanjung Terminal, as one of the main terminals in Banyuwangi Regency, plays a crucial role not only as a transportation service center but also as a source of information for the public. However, the terminal still relies on manual methods, using ledgers, to run its operations. This conventional approach presents numerous challenges, necessitating a shift to a more modern system, namely automated computer-based data management.To address these challenges, this research was conducted through several stages, including field observation, interviews, documentation collection, system design, programming, testing, and system implementation. The final result of this research is the creation of an application capable of managing bus departure and arrival schedules at Sritanjung Terminal in a structured manner according to a predetermined flow. With this application, it is hoped that various operational issues that have arisen can be resolved more effectively and efficiently.

Abstract

Submitting leave is a formal process carried out by an employee or staff to request permission to be absent from work for a certain period of time. At the Food Security Service, leave submission is still done manually, where an employee must fill out a form that still uses paper media, and submit it directly to the superior (HRD), to obtain approval. The purpose of this study is to design and develop an online leave submission information system using a web-based codeigniter framework, which can provide convenience for employees in submitting leave, as well as make it easier for management to monitor, manage, and provide leave approval more efficiently. The main purpose of the codeigniter framework is to facilitate easy and fast application development for system developers.

Abstract

The selection of study majors in secondary schools is often conducted manually and subjectively, which may lead to inappropriate student placement. This study designs a web-based information system for student profiling to determine majors at MA Nurul Khoiroh. The system was developed using the Waterfall model, including requirements analysis, system design with a Context Diagram, Data Flow Diagram (DFD), Entity Relationship Diagram (ERD), and user interface design. The system is designed to allow students to log in, complete an interest test, and automatically receive major recommendations, while administrators can manage student data, test questions, and test results. The design results show that the system can provide objective recommendations and facilitate academic data management. This research contributes to improving the efficiency, accuracy, and objectivity of the major selection process, although the actual implementation is still limited to the design stage.

Abstract

The student data archiving system at MA Nurul Khoiroh, Banyuwangi, is still managed manually using printed documents, which often causes problems such as data duplication, recording errors, and delays in information retrieval. This study aims to design a web-based student data archiving information system to improve efficiency, accuracy, and security in archive management. The research method includes observation, interviews, and documentation studies with a qualitative approach, while the system development process applies the Waterfall model consisting of requirement analysis, system design, implementation, testing, and maintenance. The results indicate that the designed system can facilitate the admin in inputting, editing, deleting, searching, and managing student data archives in a more structured and integrated manner. The implementation of this web-based information system makes the student data archiving process at MA Nurul Khoiroh faster, more accurate, and supportive of transparency and administrative effectiveness.

Abstract

Fires have the potential to cause significant material losses and even loss of life. Addressing this issue requires a system that can detect and respond automatically. The purpose of this research is to design and build a prototype automatic fire alarm and extinguishing system using a remote-controlled Arduino. This system functions to activate the alarm and automatically activate the extinguishing mechanism when a fire is detected. Furthermore, the system is equipped with a remote control for real-time monitoring and control of the device. Test results demonstrate that the prototype is capable of providing a fast and effective response, as expected. Therefore, this system is a practical, economical, and easy-to-implement alternative for fire prevention, both in households and small-scale industries.

Abstract

The management of Non-Permanent Daily Workers (THL) at the Public Works and Water Resources Department of Banyuwangi Regency is still carried out manually, making it inefficient and error-prone. This study aims to develop a web-based information system to improve the process of recording, searching, and reporting THL data. The research applied both library and field studies through interviews, observation, and documentation. The system was developed using the prototyping method within the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC). The resulting system provides features for faster data input, storage, and report generation, ensuring information is more accurate and accessible. Its implementation is expected to reduce data errors, streamline administrative tasks, and support better decision-making in managing THL.

Abstract

The Youth and Sports Office of Banyuwangi Regency plays an important role in managing various youth programs, but the process of recording, reporting, and data collection is still carried out manually, resulting in inefficiency and inaccuracy of information. This study aims to design a web-based youth activity management information system using PHP and MySQL that can manage activity data, participants, and reports in an integrated manner. The method used is a qualitative descriptive approach with data collection techniques through observation, interviews, and literature studies, as well as a system design method using the Waterfall model. The designed system provides features such as participant registration, activity data input, documentation management, and reporting. The design results show that this system can improve administrative efficiency, facilitate the evaluation process, and support transparency in youth data management at the Banyuwangi Youth and Sports Office.
