Abstract

This study examines the relationship between Islam and liberalism, reviews the concept of liberalism, its history, and the perspective of the Qur'an. Liberalism, which emphasizes individual freedom, is often seen as contrary to Islamic principles centered on Sharia. Rooted in the European Renaissance period, liberalism developed in response to the domination of religion and monarchy, encouraging democracy and a free economy. The Qur'an, in verses such as Sura Al-Baqarah, Ar-ra'ad and Al-Isra affirms the importance of obeying the Shari'a and staying away from lust. This research method uses an interpretive approach. Researchers analyze the text and interpretation of the Qur'an to understand the Islamic view of liberalism, with the aim of providing insight into contemporary liberalism discourse.

Abstract

This article focuses on the discussion of human rights in the Qur’an. The issue of human rights (HAM)   which is considered to have differences that are contrary to Islam is very problematic so it is interesting to discuss. Is it true that Islam does not recognize the concept of human rights? So how does the Koran as the main source of the Islamic religion discuss the concept of human rights? Therefore, this research aims to reveal the concept of human rights in the Al-Qur'an as the main source of Islam itself. This research uses a qualitative approach with descriptive-analytical methods, especially Maudhu'i's interpretation of verses relating to human rights. The results of this research found that the concept of human rights in Islam has existed since humans were born, as evidenced by the existence of verses in the Qur'an which are very relevant to the concept of human rights, including the rights to equality and justice contained in (QS.an Nisa: 58) the right to life (QS. al-Isra': 33) and the right to education (QS. At-Taubah: 122) with the interpretation related to this verse means that Islam is very relevant to the concept of human rights.

Abstract

Islam sets various norms for its followers, including Muslim women, who are required to cover their aurat, maintain good character, and beautify their speech. Various types of coverings such as jilbab, hijab, khimar, niqab, and burqa serve the same function but have different forms. The niqab covers the face except for the eyes, while the burqa covers the entire face. Although modern technology makes it easier for Muslim women to choose comfortable and fashionable clothing, many prioritize trends over the function of covering the aurat. The interpretation of the Qur'an and Hadith regarding how to cover the aurat needs to be understood and applied correctly. This study uses an interpretative approach to understand tafsir literature. The hijab aims to protect women's dignity, and although slavery has been abolished, the hijab remains relevant to distinguish free women and maintain morality. The hijab controversy often arises due to differing interpretations of religion and gender. The majority of scholars agree that a woman's entire aurat should be covered except for the face and hands. This study provides an understanding of the meanings of hijab, niqab, and burqa and invites society, especially women, to understand and implement these teachings according to Sharia.

Abstract

The human being was created by God as a social creature in whose mutual need belongs to the multiplicity of needs. Islam as the religion we admire has some principles of life in it that we ourselves cannot follow. of course, times and the speed of technology of course this has an impact on all the sciences of Islam except because it can facilitate us ourselves of course because the dissemination of information obtained by one source can be rapid and can be directly spread to another as additional information. Fundamental is something of a fundamental nature. Islam and fundamentalism are beliefs or desires to preserve integrity and uphold existing religious norms. But with this, people don't necessarily know for sure and understand what fundamentalism itself means. In religion too, of course, this fundamentalism is used either from Islam, Christianity, Hinduism, Buddhism, or any other religion. This is because the beliefs and firmness of its creators are correctly considered either small or large. In this case, fundamentalism becomes the foundation of the religion. However, when one has reached this level, it should be noted also not to come later when there is a difference one thing in religion it will be a dispute.

Abstract

Abstract Indonesia has a well-organized institutional framework, especially in a democratic context that prioritizes citizens' rights. An ideal democratic country is one that gives supreme power to its people, has responsible citizens, a government that is managed by the people, and authority that is exercised by the people. The approach in this context refers to the point of view used by a researcher to examine data from the literature interpretation. Choosing a particular approach or point of view in a research really depends on the research question you want to answer. In this research, the method applied is an interpretive approach, namely an approach that allows researchers to interpret interpretive texts or literature with the aim of providing an explanation of the content of the interpretation being studied. Janedjri stated that every position established by law can be called an instrument of the state, The meaning also refers to humans who carry out functions or positions in activities within the framework of the state. This meaning goes beyond the physical structure of state institutions. However, if interpreted strictly, state institutions are institutions that have a certain legal status determined by the Constitution. The state is an abstract entity that is realized in its totality. Surah Ibrahim verse 35 and Saba verse 15 relate to the regulation of government institutions in the Maudhu'i system. Based on the interpretations of several scholars, the conclusion can be drawn that a safe country is one inhabited by individuals who always remember Allah and ask Him for forgiveness.

Abstract

Secularism, a concept that emerged in the West and spread throughout the world, including Indonesia, has become a subject of debate in relation to religion, especially Islam. This research aims to explore the definition of secularism, its development in various fields, the changes that arise as a result, the interpretation of Qur'anic verses related to secularism, and scholars' perspectives on this matter. Through a qualitative method, this research utilises secondary data sources, such as journal articles and books, to provide a deeper understanding of this topic. The results show that secularism is considered as the separation of human affairs from God's affairs in all aspects of life, including education. Yusuf Qardhawi expressed his concern over the influence of secularism and atheism in the Islamic world, fuelled by colonialism and modernity. In the context of Qur'anic verses, this study found references to secularism in Surah Al-Isra' and Surah Hud. In this context, the contrast between worldly and afterlife orientations, as well as warnings against mere worldly pleasures, take centre stage. As such, this study provides a deep insight into how Islam understands and interprets secularism.
