Abstract

This study examines the growing interaction in online gaming, particularly Mobile Legends: Bang Bang, which potentially triggers verbal communication violence among students. The objective of this research is to analyze the effect of playing intensity of Mobile Legends on the tendency of verbal communication violence among students of SMK Al Ikhlas Losari, Brebes Regency. This study uses a quantitative survey approach involving 66 respondents selected through purposive sampling from a population of 192 students. Data were collected through questionnaires, interviews, and documentation, then analyzed using simple linear regression. The results show that playing Mobile Legends has a positive and significant effect on verbal communication violence, with a significance value of 0.000 (<0.05) and a coefficient of determination of 22.3%. This indicates that gaming intensity contributes to increased aggressive communication behavior, although the majority of influencing factors lie outside the scope of this study. The contribution of this research lies in providing empirical evidence regarding the relationship between online gaming activities and adolescent verbal communication behavior, which can serve as a foundation for developing digital literacy education and behavioral control strategies in school environments.

Abstract

The rise of social media, particularly TikTok, has prompted brands to act not only as producers but also as key players in shaping community identity. The research problem in this study arises from the scarcity of research examining how the identity of the rider community is constructed by automotive brands through short-form video content on TikTok. This study aims to analyze the construction of rider community identity built by the TikTok account @yamahaindonesia through linguistic, visual, and symbolic representations, as well as how that identity is interpreted by the audience. This study employs a descriptive qualitative approach, utilizing data collection techniques such as observation of Yamaha Indonesia’s TikTok content from November 2025 and in-depth interviews with three informants who are Yamaha riders and TikTok users. Data analysis was conducted using semiotic analysis of representation. The results indicate that Yamaha constructs the identity of the rider community as a cohesive, modern, and community-oriented group through the use of casual language, visuals of group riding, and consistent brand symbols. However, this identity construction still reflects a negotiation between community interests and brand promotional interests. This study concludes that TikTok functions as a strategic space for symbolically framing the identity of the rider community, however, it is recommended that the brand engage the community in a more participatory manner to strengthen long-term loyalty

Abstract

The presence of the Meta Verified feature on Instagram shifts the paradigm of digital authenticity from organic reputation to an economy-based symbol. This study aims to analyze the motivations of students at Gunung Jati University (UGJ), the social meaning, and the social validation obtained through the purchase of blue ticks. The research method used is descriptive qualitative. Data was collected through in-depth interviews with four informants, participant observation of account activities, and a study of documentation sourced from scientific journals and textbooks to strengthen the validity of the findings. The results of the study show that the informants' motivation was driven by the processing of impressions to build visual credibility. From a communication perspective, the active use of the blue tick plays a role in creating self-identity in the digital public sphere. In addition, possession of the verification symbol triggers an increase in digital literacy, whereby users become more careful and selective when managing content. Technical and social validation has been proven to improve students' self-concept as it brings social status recognition. The research conclusion confirms that the blue tick for students is a commodity of prestige that provides symbolic satisfaction and legitimizes their position in both digital and real social stratification.

Observation and documentation techniques were also used to support data validity and enrich the findings. The collected data were analyzed descriptively to identify the implementation of media convergence and the challenges encountered by RCTV. The findings indicate that RCTV has implemented various media convergence strategies by utilizing digital platforms and social media as alternative channels for content distribution and audience engagement. These efforts provide opportunities to expand audience reach and maintain the relevance of the Wewara program. However, the implementation of media convergence still faces several obstacles, particularly in optimizing digital strategies, adapting to technological developments, and overcoming limitations in human resources and media management. The study concludes that media convergence plays a crucial role in sustaining the existence of the Wewara program. Therefore, strengthening editorial management, enhancing digital capabilities, and continuously innovating news content are essential to Improve RCTV’s Competitiveness In The Digital Media Landscape.

Abstract

The rapid growth of the fitness industry in Cirebon has led to increasingly fierce competition among fitness centers, making price communication one of the key factors in determining customer satisfaction levels at Cangehgar Gym Cirebon. This study was conducted to analyze the influence of price communication on customer satisfaction levels at Cangehgar Gym Cirebon using the Service Quality (SERVQUAL) approach, which encompasses the dimensions of tangibles, reliability, responsiveness, assurance, and empathy. This study employs a quantitative method, specifically a survey using a Likert-scale questionnaire distributed to Cangehgar Gym Cirebon customers, with the sample size determined based on the Slovin formula. Data analysis was conducted through instrument validity testing, reliability testing, classical assumption testing, simple regression analysis, and hypothesis testing using SPSS 29 software. The resulting regression equation is Y = 4.560 + 0.569X + e, indicating that price has a positive impact on customer satisfaction. The coefficient of determination (R²) value of 0.715 indicates that 71.5% of customer satisfaction is influenced by the price factor. The results of this study show that aligning price communication with the quality of service and facilities provided can increase customer satisfaction at Cangehgar Gym Cirebon and serves as an important component of an effective marketing communication strategy.

Abstract

The rapid development of new media and the dominance of digital platform algorithms have transformed how creators construct and perform authenticity in digital content production. In freelance videography, authenticity is no longer understood as spontaneous self-expression but as a strategically constructed performative practice. This study aims to analyze how authenticity is constructed and performed on the Instagram account @alphaworks.id amid algorithmic and commercial pressures. This research employed a qualitative descriptive-analytical approach using in-depth interviews, digital content observation, and literature review. Data were analyzed through thematic analysis using Authenticity as Performativity as the primary analytical framework, supported by new media theory to explain the structural dynamics of digital platforms. The findings reveal that authenticity is constructed through the flexibility of visual and narrative styles, consistency in professional values, transparency in the creative process, and strategic relationship management with audiences and clients. Authenticity also functions as symbolic and economic capital produced through content strategies, performative practices, and selective commercial collaborations. This study concludes that authenticity in social media ecosystems is contextual, dynamic, and continuously negotiated within algorithmic and commercial structures. The findings challenge essentialist perspectives that regard authenticity as an inherent personal trait and demonstrate that authenticity in digital creative practices is a consciously managed performance shaped by platform logic, market demands, and professional identity. These findings also imply that digital creators need to balance professional identity, algorithmic demands, and commercial interests to maintain credibility in digital spaces.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze broadcasting production practices in the creation of the music video “Hollow” by the indie band Breacheven, which was independently produced using a do-it-yourself (DIY) approach. This research employs a qualitative descriptive methodology, utilizing in-depth interviews with the director and the band’s vocalist, along with an analysis of the audiovisual production process. The findings indicate that the production of the “Hollow” music video is not merely a technical activity, but a social and cultural practice that reflects values of independence, work flexibility, and the collective identity of indie musicians. During the production stage, broadcasting elements such as cinematography, lighting, and editing were applied adaptively by optimizing available resources, accompanied by meaning negotiation between the band and the director in developing the visual concept. Distribution was carried out through digital platforms, particularly YouTube and Instagram, representing decentralized broadcasting practices that enable independent dissemination without reliance on conventional media institutions. In terms of consumption, audiences were not positioned as indicators of commercial success, but rather as interpretative spaces for meaning-making and visual identity formation. This study concludes that independent broadcasting production through a DIY approach can serve as an effective strategy for local indie bands to enhance visual quality, maintain creative autonomy, and strengthen their presence within the digital music industry.

Abstract

This research interests in investigating a relationship between money supply and gross domestic product , based on official statistics released by Central Statistical Organization through above-mentioned time. These data analyzed using EViews 13 program by using ARDL model, as it is suitable for this sample size and integration properties of variables. The findingss appered positively and statistically significant relationship between monetary supply and GDP in short time. Stationarity of time series was tested using the ADF, indicating stationarity of both money supply and GDP at first difference, explaining both of them are integrated of order one, I(1). Graphical diagram also illustrated overall ascending trend in time series of both variables. However, results of Bounds Test indicated absence of a long-term balance between research variables, as calculated F-statistic (2.19) was smaller than lower bound critical value at 5% significance level. Furthermore, diagnostic examines confirmed the stability of model parameters and absence of autocorrelation and heteroskedasticity problems. Error correction term was negatively and statistically significant, indicating presence of short-term adjustment method.

Abstract

Families with single mothers face more complex challenges in carrying out parenting functions, particularly in building emotional closeness with their children without the presence of a father figure. Therefore, interpersonal communication is a crucial aspect in creating a harmonious relationship between mother and child. This study aims to analyze the interpersonal communication strategies of single mothers in building emotional closeness with their children in Sidoarjo Regency. The study used a qualitative descriptive approach with in-depth interviews with four single-mother families with children aged 13–18. Data analysis utilized the Miles and Huberman model, which included data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion drawing. The analysis was based on Devito's interpersonal communication theory, which encompasses five indicators: openness, empathy, support, positivity, and equality. The results showed that all informants implemented the five indicators of interpersonal communication at varying levels depending on the characteristics of the mother, the child, their family background, and their work demands. Openness fosters trust, empathy strengthens understanding of the child's emotional state, support is manifested through attention and motivation, positivity is reflected in appreciation, and equality provides space for children to express their opinions and participate in decision-making. This study concludes that the quality of interpersonal communication is a major factor in building a sense of security, comfort, mutual trust, and emotional closeness between single mothers and their children.
