Al-Abshor: Jurnal Pendidikan Agama Islam is a peer-reviewed journal published by Yayasan Pesantren Al-Qur’an Shalahuddin Al-Ayyubi, located at Jl. Dusun Kamal, RT.65/RW.29, Kamal, Karangsari, Kec. Pengasih, Kulon Progo Regency, Special Region of Yogyakarta 55674. This journal aims to disseminate research results from academics, researchers, and practitioners in the field of Islamic Studies, both in theory and practice. Specifically, this journal invites papers discussing topics such as Islamic Education, Islamic thought, learning in Islamic education, students in Islamic education, Islamic education methods, Islamic teacher education, and Islamic education policies. This journal is published online four times a year, namely in January, April, July, and October.

Abstract

Gender issues in Islamic education have become an important topic in contemporary educational discourse, especially in efforts to achieve equitable access to learning for men and women. Normatively, Islamic teachings emphasize the principles of justice and equality in obtaining education. However, in practice, there are still various challenges that affect the implementation of gender equality in Islamic education environments, such as social stereotypes, the influence of patriarchal culture, and limited understanding of gender-responsive education. This article aims to analyze gender issues in Islamic education and identify various challenges and strategies in realizing equitable access to learning. This study uses a qualitative approach with library research. Data were collected through documentary studies of various scientific literature sources in the form of books, journal articles, and relevant research results published in recent years. Data analysis was conducted using content analysis techniques to critically examine various concepts, ideas, and research findings related to gender equality in Islamic education. The results of the study indicate that gender inequality in Islamic education is more influenced by social and cultural constructs than by Islamic teachings themselves. Therefore, it is necessary to strengthen gender-responsive curricula, improve educator competencies, and support inclusive education policies. These findings contribute conceptually to the development of a more equitable and inclusive Islamic education, and emphasize the importance of integrating a gender perspective into the education system to achieve equitable access to learning. Abstrak Isu gender dalam pendidikan Islam menjadi salah satu topik penting dalam diskursus pendidikan kontemporer, terutama dalam upaya mewujudkan keadilan akses belajar bagi laki-laki dan perempuan. Secara normatif, ajaran Islam menegaskan prinsip keadilan dan kesetaraan dalam memperoleh pendidikan. Namun, dalam praktiknya masih terdapat berbagai tantangan yang memengaruhi implementasi kesetaraan gender di lingkungan pendidikan Islam, seperti stereotip sosial, pengaruh budaya patriarki, serta terbatasnya pemahaman tentang pendidikan yang responsif gender. Artikel ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis isu gender dalam pendidikan Islam serta mengidentifikasi berbagai tantangan dan strategi dalam mewujudkan keadilan akses belajar. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif dengan jenis penelitian kepustakaan (library research). Data dikumpulkan melalui studi dokumentasi terhadap berbagai sumber literatur ilmiah berupa buku, artikel jurnal, dan hasil penelitian relevan yang diterbitkan dalam beberapa tahun terakhir. Analisis data dilakukan dengan teknik analisis isi untuk menelaah secara kritis berbagai konsep, gagasan, dan temuan penelitian yang berkaitan dengan kesetaraan gender dalam pendidikan Islam. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa ketimpangan gender dalam pendidikan Islam lebih banyak dipengaruhi oleh konstruksi sosial dan budaya daripada ajaran Islam itu sendiri. Oleh karena itu, diperlukan penguatan kurikulum responsif gender, peningkatan kompetensi pendidik, serta dukungan kebijakan pendidikan yang inklusif. Temuan ini memberikan kontribusi konseptual bagi pengembangan pendidikan Islam yang lebih adil dan inklusif, serta menegaskan pentingnya integrasi perspektif gender dalam sistem pendidikan untuk mewujudkan keadilan akses belajar.

Abstract

The development of Artificial Intelligence (AI) has significantly influenced various fields of life, including the education sector. In the context of Islamic education, the use of AI provides new opportunities to improve the quality of learning through the availability of digital learning resources, the development of interactive learning media, and the implementation of more adaptive learning systems. However, the use of AI also presents several challenges, such as limited digital literacy among educators, the potential for overdependence on technology, and ethical issues related to the use of information. This article aims to analyze the opportunities, challenges, and Islamic ethical perspectives in the utilization of Artificial Intelligence in Islamic education. This study employs a qualitative approach using the library research method by collecting data from scientific journal articles, books, and relevant academic publications published within the last five years. The collected data were analyzed descriptively to identify concepts, research findings, and scholarly perspectives regarding the integration of AI in Islamic education. The results indicate that AI has significant potential to support innovation in Islamic education learning. However, its utilization should be accompanied by the strengthening of Islamic ethical values such as honesty, responsibility, and trustworthiness. Therefore, the integration of AI in Islamic education should not only focus on technological advancement but also emphasize moral and spiritual values. Abstrak Perkembangan Artificial Intelligence (AI) telah memberikan dampak yang signifikan terhadap berbagai bidang kehidupan, termasuk dalam dunia pendidikan. Dalam konteks pendidikan Islam, pemanfaatan AI membuka peluang baru dalam meningkatkan kualitas pembelajaran melalui penyediaan sumber belajar digital, pengembangan media pembelajaran interaktif, serta penerapan sistem pembelajaran yang lebih adaptif. Namun demikian, penggunaan AI juga menimbulkan berbagai tantangan, seperti keterbatasan literasi digital pendidik, potensi ketergantungan terhadap teknologi, serta persoalan etika dalam penggunaan informasi. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis peluang, tantangan, serta etika keislaman dalam pemanfaatan Artificial Intelligence dalam pendidikan Islam. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif dengan metode library research melalui pengumpulan data dari artikel jurnal ilmiah, buku, serta publikasi akademik yang relevan dalam lima tahun terakhir. Data yang diperoleh kemudian dianalisis secara deskriptif untuk mengidentifikasi konsep, temuan, serta pemikiran para ahli mengenai integrasi AI dalam pendidikan Islam. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa AI memiliki potensi besar dalam mendukung inovasi pembelajaran pendidikan Islam, namun pemanfaatannya perlu diimbangi dengan penguatan nilai-nilai etika keislaman seperti kejujuran, tanggung jawab, dan amanah. Oleh karena itu, integrasi AI dalam pendidikan Islam harus diarahkan pada pengembangan pembelajaran yang tidak hanya berbasis teknologi tetapi juga berlandaskan nilai moral dan spiritual.
