TARUNATEACH: Journal of Elementary School is a double-blind peer-reviewed journal published by the Study Program of Pendidikan Guru Madrasah Ibtidaiyah (PGMI), Sekolah Tinggi Agama Islam Taruna Surabaya, Indonesia. The journal publishes research articles on Islamic primary education or primary education in Islamic countries. The articles of this journal are published bi-annually in March and September. The focus of this journal contains articles on research on Madrasah Ibtidaiyah Teacher Education/Primary/MI/SD, such as competency analysis, learning strategies, learning theory, learning development, educator professionalism, and research results. Reviewers will review any submitted paper.

Abstract

The problem based learning model is an approach proposed to improve students' natural science learning outcomes. This study aims to investigate the influence of PBL on science learning outcomes in elementary schools through systematic literature analysis. The literature study method was used to analyze ten scientific articles related to PBL and science learning outcomes in elementary schools. The results of the analysis show that PBL is effective in stimulating interest in learning, strengthening critical thinking skills, and improving problem-solving abilities in a scientific context. The implication of this research is the need for support in training and professional development for educators, as well as further research to identify key factors that influence the success of PBL implementation. The integration of PBL into the science education curriculum needs to be strengthened through collaboration between education stakeholders. Thus, the use of PBL is expected to improve students' science learning outcomes in a holistic and sustainable manner.

Abstract

Based on pre-reseach conducted by fourth grade students at SDN Sitgede 4, data was obtained that Civics Educations learning was not optimal. This can be seen from the lack of enthusiasm of students during the learning process and less varied learning. Therefore, this research uses the Students Teams Achievement Division (STAD) learning model and canva is used as a learning medium. The aim of this research is to determine the development of canva media which is implemented using teh STAD model. The method in ths research and development (RnD). This research was conducted at SDN Situgede, with fourth grade students as research subjects. Data collection techniques used in ths research are interviews, questionnaires, documentation, and observation. The results of this research indicate that the development of canva media used in learning using the STAD learning model is declared suitable for use. The score from experts regarding the learning model was 90%, the suitability of the material was 87%, and the suitability of the canva media was 92%.     Keywords: canva, learning media, STAD.   Abstrak   Berdasarkan pra penelitian yang dilakukan oleh siswa kelas IV SDN Situgede 4 didapatkan data bahwa pembelajaran Pendidikan Kewarganegaraan (PKn) belum maksimal. Hal ini terlihat dari kurang antusiasnya siswa selama proses pembelajaran dan pembelajaran yang kurang bervariasi. Oleh sebab itu, penelitian ini menggunakan model pembelajaran Students Teams Achievement Devision (STAD) dan canva yang digunakan sebagai media pembelajaran. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui pengembangan media canva yang diimplementasikan dengan menggunakan model STAD. Metode dalam penelitian ini adalah Research and Development (RnD). Penelitian ini dilakukan di SDN Situgede, dengan subyek penelitian siswa kelas IV. Teknik pengumpulan data yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini meliputi: wawancara, angket, dokumentasi, dan observasi. Hasil dari penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa pengembangan media canva yang digunakan dalam pembelajaran dengan menggunakan model pembelajaran STAD dinyatakan layak digunakan. Nilai dari pakar ahli tentang model pembelajaran sebesar 90%, kelayakan materi sebesar 87%, dan kelayakan media canva sebesar 92%.

Abstract

The development of information and communication technology has brought significant changes to the world of education, including in Citizenship Education (PKN) learning.   This research aims to explore PKN learning innovations in the digital era with technology to improve student understanding.  The research method used is a comprehensive literature study from various related sources, such as journals, books and research reports. The research results show that the use of technology in PKN learning, such as interactive multimedia, digital simulations, and online learning, can increase students' interest, motivation, and understanding of PKN material.   Apart from that, the use of technology also enables more contextual, collaborative and student-centered learning.  However, the application of technology in PKN learning also has challenges, such as limited access to technology and teacher readiness to integrate technology effectively. This research concludes that PKN learning innovation in the digital era using technology can be a solution in improving the quality of education and preparing students to become active, critical and responsible citizens in the digital era.

Abstract

This research is motivated by the rapid development of technology and information today, both from social media or other media, so it is necessary to internalize religious and leadership characters as a foundation so as not to be negatively affected by these developments and as an altenative media, namely through scouting activities. This study aims to analyze the process, supporting and inhibiting factors for internalizing the religious character and leadership of students through scouting activities at SDI Miftahul Ulum Surabaya. This type of research is descriptive qualitative. The research was conducted at SDI Miftahul Ulum Surabaya. The data collection techniques used included interviews, observation, and documentation. After the data is collected, the next step is to clarify the data according to the problem formulation, then analyze the data using descriptive analysis techniques, so that a research finding is drawn. The results of this study are: 1) Internalization of the religious character of students through scout activities at SDI Miftahul Ulum Surabaya is carried out in three ways, namely aspects of aqidah (belief), sharia (religious practice), and akhlaq. 2) Internalization of the student's leadership spirit through scouting activities at SDI Miftahul Ulum Surabaya is carried out in three ways, namely multiplying self-potential, organizing (groups), and management (processing / managing).3) Supporting factors and inhibiting internalization of religious character and student leadership through There are four things in scouting activities at SDI Miftahul Ulum Surabaya, namely the support of the principal and parents of students, enthusiasm of students in participating in scouting activities, inadequatefacilities and very limited scout training time.

Abstract

This study aims to improve the beginning reading skills of grade 1 elementary school students through the use of flashcard learning media. This study uses a Classroom Action Research (CAR) approach which is implemented in two cycles, each consisting of four stages: planning, implementation, observation, and reflection. The subjects of the study were seven grade 1 students, consisting of five male students and two female students. The results of the study showed a significant increase in students' reading skills after the application of flashcards. In the pre-cycle stage, only one student was able to read fluently, while in Cycle 1 there were two students who showed improvement, although the other five students still had difficulty in recognizing letters and words. Evaluation at the end of Cycle 1 showed that flashcards were effective in attracting students' attention and increasing their motivation to learn to read. However, further practice is still needed for students who have difficulty. This study concludes that the use of flashcard media can be an effective alternative to improve the beginning reading skills of grade 1 elementary school students.

Abstract

The lack of attention to the quality of worship poses a significant challenge in character education in Indonesia. This study focuses on the implementation of the Standard Program for Ubudiyah and Akhlaqul Karimah (SKUA) in shaping the religious character of students at MI Pancasila Mojosari. Utilizing a qualitative field-based approach, the research collects primary and secondary data through observations, interviews, and documentation. Data analysis follows the framework proposed by Miles and Huberman, including data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion verification. The findings indicate that the SKUA program has a significant impact on enhancing the quality of worship and akhlaqul karimah among students, including increased sincerity in daily worship and improved behavior, such as polite speech and actions aligned with religious values. Data validity is ensured through triangulation and peer discussions to confirm the reliability of the results. These findings offer valuable insights for the development of more effective character education programs at MI Pancasila Mojosari.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze student activeness in science learning at MI Plus Wildan Assyifa using the Project Based Learning (PjBL) model. The focus is to obtain in-depth information about the level of student activeness as a reference for teachers, as well as to offer updates from previous studies that rarely highlight aspects of student activeness specifically. The research method used is qualitative with a narrative approach. Qualitative research emphasizes the quality and meaning behind the phenomenon, while the narrative approach is used to tell individual or group experiences through documentation and personal analysis. The results of the study showed a significant increase in student activeness after the implementation of PjBL integrated with the simulation method. Measurement of activeness was carried out through observation, interviews, and documentation, which included the stages of planning, implementation, observation, and reflection. Students showed active involvement in preparing project schedules, bringing materials, and collaborating in working on the volcanic eruption simulation task. The teacher managed to overcome the challenges of attracting students' attention and limited facilities with creativity and the use of simple materials, without complaints from parents. This method not only improves understanding of the material, but also forms student character such as responsibility, discipline, self-confidence, and curiosity. Students become more enthusiastic, interactive, and able to overcome learning boredom. Teachers feel motivated to see the positive responses of students and consider this method to have a broad impact on the science learning process, creating a more lively and dynamic classroom atmosphere.
