Abstract

Kontes kecantikan sebagai bagian dari budaya populer memunculkan pro dan kontra di masyarakat. Di satu sisi, kontes kecantikan kerap dikritik karena dianggap mereproduksi standar kecantikan tertentu serta tidak sepenuhnya selaras dengan nilai sosio-kultural Indonesia. Di sisi lain, kontes kecantikan juga dipandang memiliki nilai positif karena membuka ruang partisipasi perempuan di ranah publik serta mendorong keterlibatan mereka dalam berbagai aktivitas sosial dan advokasi. Perspektif inilah yang kemudian menempatkan Puteri Indonesia tidak hanya sebagai ajang kompetisi kecantikan, tetapi juga sebagai wadah representasi dan pemberdayaan perempuan melalui berbagai program advokasi yang diinisiasi oleh para pemenangnya. Periode 2019–2025 menunjukkan bagaimana para pemenang Puteri Indonesia mengusung isu-isu strategis seperti pemberdayaan masyarakat, lingkungan, pendidikan, mental issues, hingga hak asasi manusia sebagai bentuk kontribusi sosial. Aktivitas advokasi tersebut menjadi dasar penting untuk melihat kontes kecantikan dalam kerangka pemberdayaan dan representasi perempuan di ruang publik, yang selanjutnya dianalisis melalui pendekatan kualitatif deskriptif dalam penelitian ini.

Abstract

Peningkatan Kapasitas Pelayanan Publik bagi Perangkat Desa dalam Menghadapi Era Digital (Pengabdian Kepada Perangkat Desa di Kecamatan Ngawen, Kab. Klaten) dilakukan sebagai bentuk penyiapan sumberdaya pengelola pelayan public yang mumpuni dalam media digital. Menghadapi migrasi interaksi dan masivitas pemanfaatan media baru pada era digital saat ini, pemerintah desa diharapkan untuk dapat memberikan pelayanan kepada masyarakat melalui ruang digital. Pemanfaatan ruang digital ini sesuai dengan undang-undang No. 6 Tahun 2014 tentang Desa pasal 24, pemerintah desa dalam menjalankan tugas pokok dan fungsinya sesuai dengan asas keterbukaan, akuntabilitas, efektivitas dan efisiensi. Jenis penelitian ini adalah penelitian deskriptif dengan desain penelitian kualitatif, yaitu berusaha mengexplore temuan di lapangan dengan cara mengumpulkan data atau informasi tentang fakta atau keadaan lapangan. Pendekatan yang digunakan adalah FGD (Focus Group Discussion) yaitu diskusi yang dilakukan oleh kelompok atau group untuk membahas isu dan masalah tertentu untuk dicarikan solusinya. Kelurahan sebagai lapisan hirarki pemerintahan paling dekat dengan Masyarakat dapat bertransformasi dan memanfaatkan media digital sebagai sarana Peningkatan pelayanan kepada Masyarakat. Guna menerapkan sepenuhnya penggunaan perangkat digital, perlu untuk dioperasikan oleh pelayan public dalam hal ini perangkat desa yang mengerti dan faham penggunaan media digital. Sebanyak 50 peserta yang terdiri dari perwakilan perangkat desa baik dari unsur kepala desa maupun pamong desa turut hadir dalam kegiatan pengabdian guna meningkatkan kemampuan perangkat desa di wilayah Kecamatan Ngawen Kab. Klaten dalam menghadapi era digital.
Negotiating Humanitarian Narratives: Visual Framing of the Rohingya Crisis on Reuters and Anadolu Ajansı’s Instagram Durrotul Mas'udah

Abstract

Visual journalism plays a pivotal role in shaping public understandings of humanitarian crises by constructing particular representations of suffering, responsibility, and displacement. Despite Instagram's growing importance as a platform for visual news, its role in framing humanitarian issues remains underexplored. This study employs qualitative content analysis to examine the visual framing of the Rohingya crisis on the Instagram accounts of two different international news agencies namely and Anadolu Ajansı. The analysis focuses on photographs, captions, and hashtags, examining visual codes including the category of people, camera distance, facial expressions, and demographic representation. The findings show that both news organizations predominantly frame the Rohingya crisis through a humanitarian lens, emphasizing refugees' vulnerability and experiences of forced displacement. However, they adopt different framing strategies. Anadolu Ajansı combines personalized portrayals of individual suffering with images of mass displacement and provides explicit contextualization through captions and hashtags that identify the causes of the crisis and emphasize the victims' religious identity as Rohingya Muslims. In contrast, Reuters adopts a more documentary and event-oriented approach, focusing primarily on refugees' experiences during and after displacement while providing less contextual explanation. These findings demonstrate that visual framing on Instagram is constructed through the interplay of photographs, captions, and hashtags, highlighting how different journalistic strategies shape public understandings of humanitarian crises in digital media environments.

Abstract

Excellent service is a crucial aspect in the management of higher education institutions, particularly in academic services that directly interact with students, such as thesis administration units. To achieve excellent service, effective communication strategies are required so that students can obtain information easily, clearly, and transparently. Along with the rapid development of digital technology, cyber media has become a relevant communication tool that aligns with the current characteristics of students who are highly familiar with technology. This study aims to analyze effective communication strategies through the use of cyber media in supporting excellent service at the thesis administration office of the Faculty of Social Sciences and Humanities (FISHUM), UIN Sunan Kalijaga Yogyakarta. This research employs a descriptive qualitative method with data collected through Focus Group Discussions (FGDs) involving students and the thesis administration team. The findings reveal that the use of cyber media such as sosial media, WA and website is proven to be effective as a communication channel between the thesis administration team and students. Cyber media facilitates students in accessing information regarding the procedures and structure of thesis writing while reducing hesitation or reluctance to directly approach the administration staff. The discussion emphasizes that cyber-based communication strategies not only enhance openness and transparency of information but also minimize students’ reliance on traditional practices, such as depending on senior peers for information. Therefore, implementing effective communication through digital platforms is essential in realizing excellent service that is responsive, adaptive, and aligned with students’ needs in the digital era.

Abstract

Bhabinkamtibmas holds a strategic role in maintaining public security and social order at the village level. However, the effectiveness of this role is closely related to the officers’ communicative capacity in delivering messages, building trust, and responding to community dynamics. This community service article aims to analyze the implementation of effective communication training as an effort to strengthen the capacity of Bhabinkamtibmas in Kecamatan Klaten Utara, Kabupaten Klaten. The activity employed a descriptive qualitative design through Focus Group Discussion (FGD), observation, documentation, and interactive training sessions involving 25 Bhabinkamtibmas personnel from two police sectors. The program focused on public speaking, self-development, self-acceptance, and strategies for effective public communication. The findings indicate that the training improved participants’ understanding of persuasive and humanistic communication, strengthened their confidence in interacting with the public, and expanded their practical strategies for addressing communication barriers in the field, especially public distrust and weak message reception. The activity also demonstrates that strengthening communicative competence is an important element in supporting Bhabinkamtibmas’ public service role and in fostering more adaptive approaches to maintaining community security and order.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the meaning of family conflict in the film "Perayaan Mati Rasa," directed by Umay Shahab, using Roland Barthes's semiotic approach. Family conflict is not merely an interpersonal event but also a cultural construct shaped by social values ​​and power relations within the family structure. As a form of mass media, film plays a crucial role in representing and constructing social reality through visual and verbal signs. This study employed qualitative methods with semiotic analysis at three levels of meaning: denotation, connotation, and myth. The data consisted of nine selected scenes categorized into three family conflict orientations: lose-lose, win-lose, and win-win. The findings indicate that the lose-lose orientation represents emotional avoidance and suppression, the win-lose orientation highlights dominance and unequal power relations between siblings, while the win-win orientation depicts reconciliation through empathy and open communication. At the myth level, the film both constructs and critiques cultural beliefs regarding the authority of the firstborn, masculinity, and ideal family harmony. Overall, the Mati Rasa Celebration portrays family conflict as a complex emotional process and emphasizes the importance of open communication in achieving constructive conflict resolution.

Abstract

This study aims to review the existing literature on the existing literature on the implementation of occupational health in the Indonesian education sector and identify the challenges associated with its implementation within school environments. The study employs a literature review approach by examining scholarly journal articles, academic books, international organizational guidelines, and national policy documents published between 2020 and 2026. The literature was retrieved from major academic databases, including Google Scholar, ScienceDirect, SpringerLink, Taylor & Francis, and PubMed, as well as official publications issued by the World Health Organization (WHO), the International Labour Organization (ILO), the Ministry of Health of the Republic of Indonesia, and the Ministry of Education, Culture, Research, and Technology of the Republic of Indonesia. The findings indicate that the education sector is exposed to a wide range of occupational health risks, including ergonomic, biological, psychosocial, and physical environmental hazards, as well as excessive administrative workloads. Furthermore, the implementation of occupational health in schools continues to face several challenges, including limited policy support, inadequate awareness and understanding of occupational health principles, insufficient integration of health programs into school management systems, and suboptimal health monitoring mechanisms for teachers and educational personnel.

Abstract

Bullying is a form of violence that is very detrimental to an individual, where the victim gets bad treatment from the perpetrator who considers himself to have the power and power to be able to do anything to him because he is considered helpless. One of the characteristics of victims who often get bullying treatment  occurs in children with special needs or disabilities. The importance of family communication patterns is what can minimize the impact that occurs due to bullying  treatment. This study aims to determine how family communication patterns in dealing with children with disabilities victims  of bullying carried out by families of SLB Negeri 1 Bantul students. The research method used is a qualitative research method with a case study approach. The results showed that family communication patterns carried out on children with disabilities with different family backgrounds were also very diverse in applying communication to victims, when facing the impact that occurred. Like there are those who apply high to low conversation orientation and also some who apply high to low conformity orientation. However, not all families apply the family communication pattern well. Due to limited knowledge related to this. Of course, this adjusts to the conditions and circumstances of the victim in carrying out his approach. One of them pays attention to the side of the impact that occurs, both direct and indirect impacts on victims.

Abstract

Single parent adalah sebutan untuk laki-laki atau perempuan yang memang sudah tidak memiliki pasangan karena perceraian maupun ditinggal meninggal. Pengadilan Agama Kota Bekasi mencatat awal tahun 2023 terjadi kenaikan angka perceraian yang secara tidak langsung menyebabkan bertambahnya single parent terutama perempuan. Perempuan yang menjadi single parent mengalami peran ganda dimana harus berperan sebagai ayah dan ibu. Tujuan penelitian ini untuk mengetahui bagaimana pengelolaan peran ganda pada perempuan single parent di Kecamatan Bekasi Timur terkait aktivitas yang biasa dilakukan sehari-hari dan bentuk-bentuk peran ganda. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode kualitatif deskriptif dengan tahapan observasi, wawancara, dan dokumentasi serta dianalisis dengan Teori Pilihan Rasional dari James S. dan Teori Tindakan Sosial dari Max Weber sebagai tambahan teori. Hasil penelitian ini adalah perempuan single parent yang ada di Kecamatan Bekasi Timur mengelola peran gandanya dilakukan dua cara, yaitu secara mandiri dan mendapatkan bantuan dari orang terdekat (keluarga) dengan cakupan alokasi waktu serta penempatan peran.

Abstract

Attention is a fundamental neurocognitive function that underlies learning, executive functioning, and the internalization of moral values during early childhood. Despite growing evidence from educational neuroscience regarding the roles of attention networks and neuroplasticity in learning, the translation of these findings into pedagogical practices remains limited, particularly within the context of Islamic education. This study aims to develop a conceptual neuro-pedagogical framework by integrating Attention Network Theory, neuroplasticity, and Islamic educational principles as a theoretical foundation for attention development in early childhood. Employing a literature review design, relevant publications from educational neuroscience, developmental psychology, cognitive neuroscience, and Islamic education were systematically synthesized using thematic analysis. The synthesis focused on three interconnected themes: (1) the neurobiological mechanisms of the alerting, orienting, and executive control networks; (2) neuroplasticity and learning experiences during sensitive developmental periods; and (3) Islamic pedagogical principles, including ta'dīb (habituation), uswah hasanah (role modeling), qiṣaṣ (storytelling), and tafakkur (reflective practice). The analysis indicates that attention functions as a neurocognitive gateway through which meaningful, emotionally engaging, and repeated learning experiences induce experience-dependent neuroplasticity, strengthening neural circuits associated with executive function, self-regulation, and moral reasoning. Furthermore, Islamic pedagogical practices align closely with contemporary neuroscientific evidence by providing multisensory, socially interactive, and emotionally meaningful learning experiences that optimize attention and facilitate long-term value internalization. This article proposes a novel neuro-pedagogical framework positioning attention as the central mechanism linking brain plasticity with Islamic character education. The framework offers an interdisciplinary theoretical foundation for designing brain-based pedagogical strategies that promote school readiness, executive functioning, and holistic character development in early childhood.
