Abstract

Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) are one of the key pillars of regional economies, as they play a significant role in creating employment opportunities, increasing community income, and promoting local economic growth. Competitiveness is a crucial factor in ensuring the sustainability of MSMEs amid increasingly intense market competition. This study aims to examine the influence of market orientation and product innovation on the competitiveness of Mie Jebew MSMEs at the Car Free Day (CFD) market in Situbondo. This research employed a quantitative approach using a survey method. The population consisted of 117 consumers, and the sample size was determined using the Slovin formula, resulting in 53 respondents selected from the population. The results of the t-test indicate that the calculated t-value for the market orientation variable was 3.907, which is greater than the t-table value of 2.000, while the product innovation variable obtained a calculated t-value of 2.189, also exceeding the t-table value of 2.000, with significance values (p < 0.05), indicating that both variables significantly affect competitiveness. The F-test results also demonstrate that market orientation (Sig. = 0.000 < 0.05) and product innovation (Sig. = 0.033 < 0.05) simultaneously have a positive and significant effect on competitiveness. Furthermore, the adjusted coefficient of determination (Adjusted R Square) was 0.467, indicating that 46.7% of the variance in competitiveness can be explained by market orientation and product innovation, while the remaining 53.3% is influenced by other factors not examined in this study.

Abstract

Critical thinking skills have been widely examined in relation to students' learning outcomes, particularly in learning activities that require analysis and problem-solving. This study aims to analyze the effect of critical thinking skills on income statement preparation skills and to examine the mediating role of learning motivation among eleventh-grade students in the Accounting specialization program. This study employed a quantitative approach using a survey method with an explanatory research design. The explanatory design was chosen because the study sought to explain the causal relationship between critical thinking skills and income statement preparation skills, with learning motivation serving as a mediating variable. The results of the partial test (t-test) indicated that the regression coefficient for income statement preparation skills increased by 0.861. The significance value obtained was less than 0.05 (Sig. < 0.001), indicating that critical thinking skills have a significant effect on income statement preparation skills. In Regression Model 1, critical thinking skills had a positive and significant effect on income statement preparation skills, contributing 67% of the explained variance. In Regression Model 2, the correlation coefficient (R = 0.015) indicated a very weak relationship between critical thinking skills and learning motivation. The coefficient of determination (R Square = 0.000) showed that critical thinking skills explained 0% of the variance in learning motivation. In other words, critical thinking skills had virtually no effect on learning motivation. In Regression Model 3, the model summary showed an R value of 0.821, indicating a very strong relationship between critical thinking skills and learning motivation in predicting income statement preparation skills. The R Square value of 0.674 indicated that 67.4% of the variance in income statement preparation skills was explained jointly by critical thinking skills and learning motivation, while the remaining 32.6% was attributable to other factors beyond the scope of this study.

Abstract

This study aims to describe the forms of economic empowerment implemented in Islamic boarding schools (pesantren), analyze their role in promoting students' economic independence, and identify their impact on students' entrepreneurial skills and entrepreneurial mindset. The study employed a qualitative approach using a library research design combined with a case study at Salafiyah Dawuhan Islamic Boarding School, Situbondo Regency. Data were collected through documentation, limited observation, and literature review, and were analyzed using descriptive qualitative analysis involving data reduction, data display, and conclusion drawing. The findings indicate that economic empowerment is implemented in an integrated manner through the development of productive business units, student cooperatives, entrepreneurship training, and practice-based learning (learning by doing). The active involvement of students in business management enhances their entrepreneurial skills, managerial experience, sense of responsibility, self-confidence, and economic independence. Furthermore, the implementation of Islamic business ethics, such as honesty, trustworthiness (amanah), and responsibility, serves as an essential foundation for developing students with integrity and self-reliance. The economic empowerment program also contributes positively to strengthening the socio-economic relationship between the pesantren and the surrounding community. Therefore, economic empowerment in pesantren plays a strategic role in developing independent, productive, and competitive students through the integration of education, entrepreneurial practice, and Islamic values.

Abstract

Digital business platforms have transformed consumers from passive product recipients into active knowledge-creating agents. This study examines the influence of the SECI knowledge creation model Socialization, Externalization, Combination, and Internalization on new knowledge formation among Mobile Legends consumers in Surabaya, Indonesia. Employing a quantitative associative research design, data were collected from 150 active Mobile Legends users through structured Likert-scale questionnaires and analyzed using multiple linear regression. Results confirm that all four SECI dimensions simultaneously and partially influence new knowledge formation. Simultaneously, the model explains 53.6% of variance in new knowledge formation (F = 41.846, p = 0.000). Partially, Combination emerges as the strongest predictor (β = 0.325), followed by Internalization (β = 0.317), Socialization (β = 0.227), and Externalization (β = 0.154), all significant at p < 0.05. These findings extend the SECI model and Knowledge-Based View beyond formal organizational settings, establishing that consumer-driven knowledge creation in non-formal digital ecosystems is a structured and measurable phenomenon. Practically, the findings provide strategic guidance for digital platform operators to invest in consumer knowledge capital as a source of sustained competitive advantage.

Abstract

This study examines the notarial office as both a legal profession and a Public Official as stipulated in the Law on Notarial Office (Undang-Undang Jabatan Notaris/UUJN). The concepts of “profession” and “Public Official” as attached to the Notary have distinctive characteristics within the Indonesian context. As a legal professional, the Notary performs duties professionally to serve the public in the field of private (civil) legal services within the scope of his or her authority. These legal services are remunerated through honoraria paid by members of the public, the amount of which is regulated by the UUJN and the professional organization. In providing legal services to the public, Notaries are obliged to render services free of charge to indigent persons. This obligation is regulated under Article 37 of the UUJN, which also prescribes sanctions for non-compliance. Through the UUJN, the Government facilitates economically disadvantaged members of society to ensure the legal protection of their rights in transactions and legal acts that require authentic evidence in the form of a notarial deed. However, the UUJN does not clearly explain the criteria and requirements for determining who qualifies as an “indigent” person eligible to receive free legal services from a Notary. Furthermore, the prevailing laws and regulations do not specify the types or scope of notarial legal services that may be provided to economically disadvantaged persons under this scheme. Accordingly, the legislation should more carefully regulate the subjects eligible to receive free notarial legal assistance, while still taking into account eligibility requirements, the scope of services that may be provided, and service standards to be applied by Notaries when rendering pro bono legal services to indigent persons.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the effect of work ability improvement, job satisfaction, and compensation on employee performance at PTPN IV Regional 1 Kebun Rantauprapat. The background of this research is based on the importance of effective human resource management in enhancing productivity and achieving corporate performance targets within the plantation sector. Optimal work ability, high levels of job satisfaction, and a fair and competitive compensation system are considered key determinants in improving employee performance. This research employs a quantitative approach using a survey method. The population consists of all employees at PTPN IV Regional 1 Kebun Rantauprapat, with a saturated sampling (census) technique applied. Data were collected through questionnaires and analyzed using multiple linear regression to examine both partial and simultaneous effects among variables. The results indicate that work ability improvement, job satisfaction, and compensation partially have a positive and significant effect on employee performance. Simultaneously, these three independent variables also significantly influence employee performance. These findings suggest that the company should optimize training and competency development programs, enhance performance-based compensation systems, and create a supportive work environment to sustainably improve employee satisfaction and performance.

Abstract

The rapid development of information technology has required libraries to enhance their innovation capability in order to remain relevant as agents of change in the digital era; however, empirical evidence in Buleleng Regency indicates that innovation among librarians remains relatively low despite existing organizational practices. Therefore, this study aims to analyze the influence of transformational leadership, knowledge sharing, and perceived organizational support on innovation capability. This research employs a quantitative approach based on the positivist paradigm with an explanatory design. Data were collected through questionnaires distributed to 60 librarians selected using proportional random sampling from a population of 71, and analyzed using multiple linear regression with SPSS, including validity, reliability, and classical assumption tests. The findings reveal that transformational leadership, knowledge sharing, and perceived organizational support each have a positive and significant effect on innovation capability, with knowledge sharing identified as the most dominant variable. Simultaneously, these variables explain 57.9% of the variance in innovation capability. In conclusion, innovation capability is influenced by the synergy of leadership, knowledge sharing, and organizational support, implying that libraries should strengthen these aspects to foster sustainable innovation.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the influence of investment, employment, human development, unemployment, poverty, and minimum wages on Gross Regional Domestic Product (GRDP) of districts/cities in East Java using a panel data regression approach with the best Fixed Effect Model (FEM) based on the Hausman test. The results show that the Human Development Index (HDI) and district minimum wages (Wage) have a positive and significant effect on GRDP, which means that improving the quality of education, health, and living standards as well as increasing community income can increase productivity and consumption, thereby encouraging regional economic growth. Conversely, the open unemployment rate (Unemp) and the number of poor people (Pov) have a negative and significant effect, which indicates that high unemployment reduces people's income and purchasing power, while poverty suppresses aggregate demand and economic participation, thus hampering growth. Meanwhile, foreign direct investment (FDI) and the labor force participation rate (Lab) do not have a significant effect on GRDP, which indicates that uneven foreign investment and low quality and absorption of labor cause these two variables to be unable to provide a real contribution to economic output. This research contributes to filling the gap in previous research by integrating various economic variables in a comprehensive model based on panel data in 38 districts/cities in East Java, so that it can provide a more comprehensive picture of the determinants of GRDP and become the basis for formulating more targeted regional economic development policies.

Abstract

One of the objectives of this study is to find out the extent to which owners and managers of MSMEs in Lamongan Regency apply Sharia law in buying and selling activities (al-bay'). This study uses a qualitative descriptive methodology. Eight micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs) managers from various industry sectors were interviewed through in-depth interviews, observations, and documentation. Data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion drawing are all part of the interactive model used for data analysis. The survey results show that buying and selling activities carried out by small and medium business managers (SMEs) mostly comply with sharia values, including honesty, fairness, transparency, and avoiding gharar and usury. Everything has been established and agreed upon from the beginning, including a pricing system that is based on reasonable costs and profits. However, MSME actors' understanding of the concept of sharia is still practical and not theoretically comprehensive. Factors that affect sharia compliance include the level of understanding, business experience, religiosity, social environment, as well as external factors such as market conditions and consumer behavior. Thus, efforts are needed to increase sharia economic literacy through education and continuous assistance so that the implementation of sharia compliance can be carried out more optimally and consistently in daily business practices.

Abstract

An essential aspect of the government's efforts to enhance community well-being across social, economic, and environmental areas is the sustainable development of villages. To fulfill this aim, the government established the Village Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), promoting a development process that is more inclusive, engaging, and oriented towards the long term. Achieving these goals necessitates assistance from various sources, including active community participation in all stages of development, accountability in village leadership, and the ethical awareness of local officials. However, these targets have not been completely met in practice, especially concerning the Village Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), as indicated by the existing disparities in village development measures. The main goal of this project is to explore and illustrate how moral awareness, transparency, and community involvement influence the attainment of Village Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). Utilizing the Partial Least Squares Structural Equation Modeling technique, this quantitative study examines data obtained from community surveys. The findings reveal that the likelihood of achieving Village SDGs significantly increases with community participation, transparency, and ethical awareness. These results suggest that the moral sensitivity of village leaders and the engagement of the community contribute significantly to the successful accomplishment of Village Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). This research enriches the available literature by broadening understanding, particularly in the fields of public sector accounting and village governance, about the factors that influence the effectiveness of Village SDGs through the integration of ethical governance, administrative procedures, and community participation. Furthermore, this study carries implications for policy, as the findings may be utilized by village administrations in developing policies that enhance governance in villages to maximize the realization of Village SDGs.
