Abstract

The existing model for knowledge dissemination that universities and research centers adopt relies on central funding and central repositories of publications and books which are for the most part guarded by pay walls. These central repositories manifest as for-profit Publishing houses. While the editing and peer review processes are fully voluntarily performed by experts in the scientific field, the outcome of the scientific work i.e. the publication remains under the publishing house ownership accessible only by paying an exorbitant fee. In conjunction, conventional brick and mortar universities nowadays stand as the main knowledge creation flocked by students. Again, access to these educational institutions and/or to research funding require substantial effort and/or cost from students and scientists alike. In this work we present a new model for the creation and dissemination of knowledge relying on the DeSci approach and crowd funding. The model circumvents many if not all of the deficiencies of the existing centralized approach.

Abstract

The idea of DAO development is a novel and radical solution to the constant centralization of power and financial capabilities of the world community. Unlike decentralized finance (DeFi) in general, which uses blockchain to replace trusted third parties in banking, lending, investing, and other financial transactions, DAOs use technology to transfer some or all decision-making power from organizations to individuals using a code for setting guidelines, namely how decisions are made and implemented. Investors place their digital assets in liquidity pools using code-driven smart contracts without the need for an intermediary to ensure that all parties meet their obligations. In exchange for their investment, investors receive a token that allows them to participate in the centralized management of the pool, including the ability to vote to choose which beneficiaries receive a portion of the income that becomes a donation and set parameters for smart contracts. And although this scheme, in addition to advantages, has disadvantages, the idea of DAO continues to develop. At the moment, this development is limited only to the digital environment. Yet, the perspective is impressive.

Abstract

Globalization in the current digital era has made it easier to use information technology to obtain fast and accurate information. One source of information is a website that can be used to monitor machine conditions in the industry. A good machine maintenance strategy is needed to maintain and increase machine productivity. Therefore, this research aims to build a website to monitor machine conditions in real-time. The machine condition is monitored using sushi sensors to track parameters such as temperature, acceleration, and velocity. Deep learning analysis is then used to identify anomalies in the machine. Using the SCRUM method, this website was successfully built. From the results of tests carried out using unit testing and integrated testing, every feature on this website can run well and according to user needs.

Abstract

Many businesses are using the Agile Software Development (ASD) to react to changing needs and provide functional values quickly. Information security, on the other hand, is seen as a non-functional requirement. In consequence, information security is frequently ranked lower than functional needs in ASD. The goal of this study is to present a unified perspective on how researchers integrate information security into agile software development. This study uses Systematic Literature Review (SLR) approach from ACM, IEEE, ScienceDirect, and Scopus. This study identified several key groups related to the integration of information security with ASD: agile methodologies, agile ceremonies, advantages, and issues. According to the findings of this study, all agile ceremonies contain some form of enhancement in process or artifacts linked to security. These findings have also been validated by expert judgment who have experience working in the project team that have integrated information security into agile software development process.

Abstract

Public space opinion reviews are currently a source of information for interested parties and decision-makers. Twitter is a social media that is a means of expressing themselves for people to express their opinions and criticize the current situation. This becomes information for readers. Information published on Twitter contains elements of commentary on a situation or object Sentiment analysis of public space opinion on Twitter using Machine Learning with the Support Vector Machine (SVM) method with the data weighting process using the Term Frequency-Inverse Document Frequency (TF-IDF) method. Dataset obtained by scraping using the Twitter API as much as 5000 data then labeled where the goal is to get accuracy on positive, negative, or neutral sentiment. The results of research conducted experiments on three Machine Learning algorithms with the extraction function "TF-IDF" obtained an accurate training model with good classification capabilities, especially SVM of 91,6% on data distribution 70: 30; SVM is 92.8% in the case of data distribution of 80: 20; the SVM is 91,8% in the case of 90:10 decomposition data.

Abstract

Abstract

This research aims to develop a lip gesture recognition system in Arabic words by utilizing Histogram of Oriented Gradient (HOG) feature extraction and Support Vector Machine (SVM) classification. The evaluation was conducted on a dataset of 1749 videos with male and female participation using Modern Standard Arabic. The 10 cross-fold validation method was used to measure the performance of the system. By applying a polynomial kernel, this study achieved an accuracy rate of 95.63%, while the word recognition rate reached 96%. These results confirm the system's ability to recognize lip movements with precision, confirming the effectiveness of the approach used in visual recognition for Arabic.

Abstract

Street lighting, or Public Street Lighting (PJU), is crucial infrastructure in an area, particularly for nighttime traffic illumination. Efficiency and monitoring pose significant challenges in PJU management. Most PJUs lack a monitoring system, making control and malfunction detection difficult. Monitoring is expected to efficiently regulate the on-off schedule and detect malfunctions. This research aims to develop a cost-effective PJU monitoring and efficiency system without replacing many existing devices. The method employs Zigbee technology and Esp32. This system is anticipated to enhance efficiency and detect issues more promptly than before.

Abstract

Fraudulent transactions caused mainly by high level bugs in PT XYZ’s production environment have caused significant financial losses for the company. Such issues were attributed to subpar DevOps practices in PT XYZ. Based on the given problem, this research evaluates DevOps practices in PT XYZ based on Bucena’s maturity model and proposes recommendations for improvement. This study collects data using interviews with four key figures in PT XYZ’s software development team and processed using the thematic analysis method in conjunction with magnitude coding. The results showed that PT XYZ’s primary weaknesses in implementing DevOps practices fall mostly within Technology and Process domains. From these findings, a roadmap is designed for a timeframe of 12 months, which consists of 9 primary objectives to fulfill to increase overall DevOps maturity level at PT XYZ up to the Defined level.
