Abstract

Improving the quality of human resources through appropriate training and placement of employees according to competencies can boost work motivation and ultimately improve employee performance. This research was conducted at Bank Jambi's Muara Bulian Branch Office. The aim was to analyze the effect of training and placement on employee performance, with work motivation as a mediating variable. The population in this study was all 84 employees of Bank Jambi's Muara Bulian Branch Office. Given the relatively small population, the sampling technique used was a census, with the entire population as respondents. The research method used was quantitative with a descriptive and verification approach. Data collection was conducted using a Likert-scale questionnaire, while data analysis used path analysis to test the direct and indirect effects between variables. The results showed that training and placement had a positive and significant effect on work motivation. Furthermore, work motivation had a positive and significant effect on employee performance. Training and placement also had a positive and significant effect on employee performance, both directly and indirectly through work motivation. Thus, work motivation was proven to act as a mediating variable in the relationship between training and placement on employee performance. These findings indicate that improving the quality of training and accurate employee placement requires management's attention in efforts to sustainably improve employee performance.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the effect of interest in adopting cloud computing and the use of financial technology on the performance of salted-egg SMEs in Cirebon Regency. The research background stems from the low level of digital technology adoption among SMEs, despite its potential to improve operational efficiency and financial performance. A quantitative method was applied using a survey approach and multiple linear regression analysis. The population consisted of 50 salted-egg SME owners selected through a saturated sampling technique. The results indicate that interest in cloud computing and the use of fintech have a positive and significant impact on SME performance, both individually and simultaneously, with an R² value of 0.610. These findings suggest that integrating digital technologies can enhance SME competitiveness through more efficient data management and transparent financial transactions. The study contributes theoretically by applying the Technology Acceptance Model and offers practical implications for SME owners and policymakers to accelerate digital transformation.

Abstract

This study addresses the need of culinary micro, small, and medium enterprises to build consumer trust within a competitive digital marketplace. The objective is to determine the extent to which social media advertising, word of mouth, and owner personal branding affect consumer trust. A quantitative explanatory approach was employed with 120 consumers of culinary MSMEs in Cirebon who actively access social media. Data were collected via a Likert‑scale questionnaire and analyzed using multiple linear regression following validity, reliability, and classical assumption tests. The results indicate that all three predictors exert positive and significant effects on consumer trust, both partially and simultaneously, with the model explaining 58 percent of the variance. These findings highlight that transparent and consistent advertising, credible consumer reviews, and the owner’s authenticity and competence provide complementary trust signals. The study concludes that an integrated orchestration of paid, earned, and owned channels is essential to strengthen consumer trust in culinary MSMEs.

Abstract

This study examines how leadership and behavioral discipline contribute to employee performance in the logistics industry. The research object is employees of PT Triglobal Mandiri Indonesia, a national logistics and distribution company operating in a time‑sensitive and coordination‑intensive environment. The objective of this study is to analyze the direct effects of transformational leadership and work discipline on employee performance, to examine their influence on the quality of leader–employee relationships, and to test the mediating role of leader–member exchange. This study employed a quantitative associative research design using a structured questionnaire distributed to 100 employees, with data analyzed through Partial Least Squares–Structural Equation Modeling. The results show that transformational leadership and work discipline have a positive and significant direct effect on employee performance. Transformational leadership also significantly influences leader–member exchange, while work discipline does not. Leader–member exchange has a positive effect on performance; however, it does not mediate the relationship between transformational leadership and performance nor between work discipline and performance. The study concludes that employee performance in logistics companies is driven primarily by direct leadership practices and disciplined work behavior, while relationship quality plays a supportive but non‑mediating role.

Abstract

The convergence of strategic management and digital transformation has become a central theme in contemporary business research, yet the intellectual structure of this field remains fragmented. This study conducts a comprehensive bibliometric analysis to map the evolution, thematic clusters, and emerging trends in strategic management within the digital era. Using Scopus database covering the period 2010–2026, 1,248 peer-reviewed journal articles were analyzed through VOSviewer and Biblioshiny. The analysis reveals an exponential growth in publications, with five dominant thematic clusters: (1) digital transformation and strategy, (2) digital business model innovation, (3) digital and dynamic capabilities, (4) organizational culture and leadership, and (5) sustainability and ESG performance. Influential journals, authors, and countries are identified, along with emerging research fronts including AI adoption, sustainability-driven transformation, and digital refusal. The findings demonstrate a shift from technology-centric perspectives toward holistic approaches integrating culture, leadership, and sustainability. Theoretical contributions include a synthesized framework of the field's intellectual architecture, while practical implications offer strategic roadmaps for managers navigating digital change. Key research gaps concerning SMEs, developing economies, and cross-disciplinary integration are highlighted, providing a future research agenda. This study serves as a foundational reference for scholars and practitioners seeking to understand and advance strategic management in an increasingly digitalized economy.

Abstract

The issue of educational resilience has been of paramount concern in the current educational systems, especially in those settings where there is socio-economic insecurity. This paper discusses the role of integrated support systems in enhancing the resilience of students and boosting learning outcomes in the face of financial and psychological stress, as well as structural inequities. The research design chosen is a document review research design, which utilizes the available scholarly literature, policy reports and institutional documents to synthesize existing knowledge on the topic of educational resilience and support mechanisms. The analysis is based on critical areas of support systems, such as financial support programmes, counseling and psychosocial interventions, trauma-sensitive education, teacher training, and community-based interventions. The results suggest that the best practices to promote educational resilience are holistic and coordinated strategies that meet the academic, emotional and social requirements at the same time. Financial interventions like student loan schemes, bursaries, and counseling and trauma-informed practices can boost access and retention, as well as the psychological well-being and engagement in learning of students. The research also shows that the interventions that are fragmented or isolated can no longer be effective in maintaining long-term resilience in learners. The research finds that sustainable educational resilience is a need that necessitates combined policy frameworks, ongoing educator development, and properly designed support systems that facilitate equity and inclusion. Strategies include enhancing the institutional coordination, increasing access to financial support, and institutionalization of psychosocial support services so that learners can succeed in spite of socio-economic uncertainty.

Abstract

The study focused on a well-developed econometric framework to examine how income inequality impacts economic growth in Nigeria based on annual data of 1994-2023. Linear and Autoregressive Distributed Lag (ARDL) estimation methods were used to estimate the model to include the short and long-run dynamics. The ARDL bounds test was used to ensure that there was cointegration and the error correction model (ECM) ensured that it made adjustments towards a long-run equilibrium. The theoretical and empirical relevance of the inclusion of the variables in the study justified it, and the flexibility of ARDL was adopted because of the ability to deal with mixed order of integration. FMOLS estimation was done to ensure robustness and pre-estimation tests (ADF, multicollinearity, descriptive statistics) and post-estimation diagnostics (autocorrelation, heteroskedasticity and stability tests) demonstrated model validity and reliability. The findings revealed that income inequality positively, though statistically insignificantly influenced economic growth in Nigeria thus no long-run effect. Institutional quality and population growth had a strong and positive impact on growth, whereas the combination of the two with inequality was negative and significant, indicating that good institutions mitigate the negative impact of inequality. Inequality in the short-run was insignificant and on the other hand, institutional quality and population growth were a major contributor to growth. There were mixed effects of trade openness and life expectancy and the error correction term proved that there is a high long-run adjustment. The research found that the income inequality, in itself, is not a large factor of economic growth in Nigeria, but the impact is influenced by the quality of the institutions. Institutional empowerment is thus a crucial aspect to support inclusive and sustainable economic development.

Abstract

This study aims to explore the relationship between tourist behavior and the sustainability of island tourism through a Systematic Literature Review (SLR) approach based on the PRISMA 2020 protocol. Data were obtained from two main databases, namely Scopus and ScienceDirect, covering publications from 2021–2025. In the initial identification stage, 733 articles were found. After going through the screening, eligibility, and inclusion processes, 53 articles were obtained that met the criteria for further analysis. The analysis was conducted bibliometrically and thematically to map tourist behavior variables, frequently used theories, and the geographical distribution of global research. The results show that the dominanttheories used are the Theory of Planned Behavior (TPB), Service Quality (SERVQUAL), and Social Exchange Theory (SET). The most frequently studied variables include tourist satisfaction, destination loyalty, destination image, and revisit intention. Thematically, the research focuses on three main areas: (1) sustainable practices and environmental awareness, (2) tourist experience, satisfaction, and revisit intention, and (3) destination image, local culture, and loyalty formation. Geographically, publications are dominated by Europe, followed by ASEAN and non-ASEAN Asia. The results of this study provide a conceptualcontribution to strengthening tourist behavior models that support the sustainability of island destinations and enrich the global research direction in the field of sustainable tourism.
