Abstract

There are problems related to learning motivation that occurred in SMP Negeri 22 according to the observation conducted: passive learning environment and lack of students’ participation, readiness and engagement in learning that lead to the students’ poor academic achievement. In order to overcome the problems, the researchers in this study used electronic module due to its practicality, efficiency and interesting features that it has: audio, animation and video. Electronic module has a potential to bring abstract content into more concrete for the students, so that they might feel more motivated to learn. The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of Electronic Module Media on the stduents’ learning motivation in Class VIII E SMP Negeri 22 Jambi city. The research method applied is classroom action research. The results show that the use of electronic module media has increased the students’ motivation to learn, this can be seen from the results of the questionnaire as follows: 0% agree that the media is lacking, 16.7% agree that it is sufficiently good, 56.7% agree that it is good and 26.7% agree that it is categorized as very good and able to give a positive impact on the students’ learning outcomes on cognitive, affective and psychomotor aspect. This can be seen from the cognitive learning outcomes of the students who have completed learning that reached 86.67% with an average score of 75.3. The students successfully achieved good categories on affective and psychomotor aspects. Abstrak. Kulit singkong kurang dimanfaatkan oleh masyarakat sehingga menjadi limbah. Kulit singkong mengandung pati yang berpotensi sebagai edible coating. Tomat mudah mengalami kerusakan pasca panen sehingga kadar total fenol dan vitamin C menurun, maka perlu adanya alternatif untuk mempertahankan kadar total fenol dan vitamin C tomat dengan cara aplikasi edible coating pati kulit singkong. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui pengaruh adanya aplikasi edible coating pati kulit singkong konsentrasi 1%, 2% dan 4% terhadap kadar total fenol dan kadar vitamin C tomat hari ke 3, 6 dan 12 serta mengetahui potensi hasil penelitian sebagai sumber belajar IPA SMP kelas VIII materi zat aditif. Kadar total fenol diuji menggunakan metode spektrofotometri dan kadar vitamin C menggunakan metode titrasi iodium. Hasil penelitian menunjukan kadar total fenol dan kadar vitamin C tertinggi terjadi pada hari ke 12 perlakuan edible coating 4% berturut-turut sebesar 0.0525% dan 33.2210mg/100g, maka edible coating pati kulit singkong dapat mempertahankan kadar total fenol dan vitamin C tomat dibandingkan kontrol. Hasil penelitian dapat digunakan sebagai sumber belajar IPA SMP kelas VIII materi zat aditif.

Abstract

The nervous system in humans is a learning material that contains some abstract material and cannot be observed directly by students. The purpose of this study is to conduct an analysis of the use of digital learning media on nervous system learning materials and find out the types of learning media that can improve student learning outcomes and interests in the nervous system material. The method used is a meta-analysis by analyzing articles published in national journals related to digital-based learning media for nervous system material. Analysis of the data used is qualitative data analysis for data results of narrative studies of the research found. The sample used was 10 articles in national journals about biology learning media on nervous system material. The results of the meta-analysis of national journals note that learning on the material of the nervous system using digital-based learning media influences the interests and learning outcomes of students. Effective pursuit media to improve student learning outcomes and interest in the nervous system material is to use Augmented Reality (AR) media. Abstrak. istem saraf pada manusia merupakan materi pembelajaran yang mengandung beberapa materi abstrak dan tidak dapat diamati secara langsung oleh siswa. Tujuan dari penelitian ini melakukan analisis terhadap penggunaan media pembelajaran digital pada materi pembelajaran system saraf. Metode yang digunakan adalah meta-analisis dengan melakukan telaah terhadap artikel yang terbit di jurnal nasional yang terkait dengan media pembelajaran berbasis digital untuk materi sistem saraf. Analisis data yang digunakan adalah analisis data kualitatif untuk data-data hasil kajian naratif terhadap penelitian-penelitian yang ditemukan. Sampel yang digunakan sebanyak 10 artikel pada jurnal nasional tentang media pembelajaran biologi pada materi sistem saraf. Hasil dari meta-analisis jurnal nasional diketahui bahwa pembelajaran pada materi sistem saraf dengan menggunakan media pembelajaran berbasis digital berpengaruh terhadap minat dan hasil belajar peserta didik. Keuntungan menggunakan media pembelajaran berbasis digital untuk mudah digunakan, praktis, efektif dan layak digunakan dalam pembelajaran biologi pada masa sekarang. Meta-analisis jurnal ini adalah dengan menggunakan media pembelajaran berbasis digital pada  materi sistem saraf dapat meningkatkan hasil dan minat belajar peserta didik.   Katakunci : Media pembelajaran, digital, metaanalisis

Abstract

This research was motivated by Student Worksheets on Fungi Practicum Material which were categorised as incapable to provide opportunities for students to autonomously discover learning concepts. Material on Fungi requires active learning activities, such as observation, experiment and literature review. This study aims to seek the feasibility of Students’ Worksheets based on the SSCS (Search, Solve, Create and Share) Instructional Model according to expert review on Fungi Practicum in SMA Patra Mandiri 1 Palembang. This study applies quantitative descriptive method to assess the feasibility according to expert review (which includes three content validators, three material validators and two teachers) using questionnaires. The data analysis uses five scales (strongly impractical, impractical, sufficiently feasible, feasible and strongly feasible). The results show the total score of 94.67 (feasible) for validity on the learning content, 77 (feasible) on the learning material and 91 (strongly feasible) on the teachers. Revisions are made regarding to image clarity. Abstrak.Penelitian ini dilatarbelakangi oleh belum sesuainya Lembar Kerja Peserta Didik (LKPD) untuk praktikum pada materi Fungi sehingga belum mampu memberi kesempatan bagi peserta didik untuk dapat menemukan sendiri konsep-konsep yang peserta didik pelajari. Materi fungi merupakan materi yang membutuhkan peran aktif peserta didik dengan adanya pengamatan dan percobaan serta kajian literatur. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui kelayakan Lembar Kerja Peserta Didik (LKPD) berbasis model pembelajaran SSCS (Search, Solve, Create and Share) berdasarkan penilaiam Expert review pada praktikum materi Fungi kelas X SMA Patra Mandiri 1 Palembang. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode deskriptif kuantitatif untuk penilaian kelayakan berdasarkan Expert review (meliputi tiga validator bahan ajar, tiga validator materi, dan dua guru) dengan menggunakan angket. Analisis data mengacu pada modifikasi Azwar rentang skor 1-5 dengan interpretasi kelayakan (sangat tidak layak, kurang layak, cukup layak, layak dan sangat layak). Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa penilaian kelayakan LKPD berdasarkan penilaian dari validator bahan ajar adalah 94,67 (layak), penilaian dari validator materi adalah 77 (layak) dan penilaian dari guru adalah 91 (sangat layak). Walaupun telah dinyatakan layak dan sangat layak namun terdapat revisi mengenai gambar yang perlu diperjelas lagi.

Abstract

Cassava peel was determined to be underutilized by the community that it turned out to be wasted. Cassava peel contains starch which has a potential as an edible coating. During post-harvest, Tomatoes are easily to loose Phenol and Vitamin C. Therefore, there should be solutions to keep Phenol and Vitamin C level on Tomatoes through edible coating application of Cassava Peel Starch. This study aims to find out the effect of edible coating application of cassava peel starch with concentrations of 1%, 2% and 4% on the Total Phenolic Content and Vitamin C in tomatoes on day 3, 6 and 12; as well as to find out the present research’s potential as learning resources for grade VIII of Junior High School in learning Additive Substance. Total Phenolic Content was tested using spectrophotometric, while Vitamin C content was tested using Iodine titration. The results show that the highest Total Phenolic Content and Vitamin C occured on day 12 in the 4% of edible coating treatment, respectively: 0.0525% and 33.2210mg /100g. According to the results, a conclusion could be made that edible coating of cassava peel starch is able to maintain Total Phenolic Content and Vitamin C on Tomatoes, compared to the control. Abstract

This study aims to determine the profile of the scientific attitude of VIII grade students of Sukabumi City Middle School. This research was conducted in October in the 2nd week in one of the Sukabumi City Junior High Schools. This research uses a descriptive method. The approach used in this research is a qualitative approach. The population in this study were students of class VIII of SMP Negeri Sukabumi as many as 65 people. Samples were taken by using purposive sampling technique. Data collection was performed using 15 self-assessments using 7 scientific attitude indicators. The results showed that the profile of the scientific attitude of VIII grade students of Sukabumi City Middle School in 2019/2020 school year was still in the lack category. But these results must still be improved again by using models, strategies and learning approaches that are able to improve students' scientific attitudes. One suggested learning model is the guided inquiry laboratory experiment method (Gilem) learning model. Abstrak. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui profil sikap ilmiah siswa kelas VIII SMP Negeri Kota Sukabumi. Penelitian ini dilaksanakan pada bulan oktober di minggu ke-2 di salah satu SMP Negeri Kota Sukabumi. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode deskriptif. Pendekatan yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini yaitu pendekatan kualitatif. Populasi pada penelitian ini adalah peserta didik kelas VIII SMP Negeri Kota Sukabumi sebanyak 65 orang. Sampel diambil dengan menggunakan teknik purposive sampling. Pengumpulan data dilakukan dengan menggunakan self assessment sebanyak 15 soal dengan menggunakan 7 indikator sikap ilmiah. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa profil sikap ilmiah siswa kelas VIII SMP Negeri Kota Sukabumi tahun ajaran 2019/2020 masih dalam kategori kurang. Namun hasil tersebut masih harus ditingkatkan kembali dengan menggunakan model, strategi dan pendekatan pembelajaran yang mampu meningkatkan sikap ilmiah siswa. Salah satu model pembelajaran yang disarankan adalan model pemebelajaran guided inquiry laboratory experiment method (Gilem).

Abstract

Practicum is an activity that aims to enable students to carry out experiments to prove phenomena based on theories obtained in learning. Practicum refers to the student worksheet (LKPD). The purpose of this study was to analyze and describe the conceptual, practical, and knowledge construction components of the ABO blood group test students' worksheets which are used as a basis for making improvements and reconstruction of LKPD. The research method is descriptive qualitative. Sampling was done by purposive sampling with a total of 5 LKPDs. The LKPD trial was carried out at the UPI physiology laboratory. The instruments used in this research are according to the Vee diagram and the structural analysis instruments developed. The results showed that the conceptual component was in accordance with the demands of the curriculum. Practical components such as work steps, object recording, and standard operating procedure (SOP) activities need to be repaired and reconstructed. The knowledge construction component is quite good and needs repair and reconstruction. So it can be concluded that the LKPD of the ABO system blood group test needs to be reconstructed. Praktikum merupakan suatu kegiatan yang bertujuan agar siswa dapat melakukan percobaan untuk membuktikan fenomena-fenomena berdasarkan teori yang didapatkan di dalam pembelajaran. Praktikum mengacu kepada lembar kerja peserta didik (LKPD). Tujuan dalam penelitian ini adalah untuk menganalisis dan mendeskripsikan kompenen konseptual, praktikal, dan kontruksi pengetahuan lembar kerja peserta didik uji golongan darah sistem ABO yang digunakan sebagai dasar untuk melakukan perbaikan dan rekontruksi LKPD. Metode penelitian adalah deskriptif kualitatif. Pengambilan sampel dilakukan dengan cara purposive sampling dengan total LKPD sebanyak 5 buah. Uji coba LKPD dilakukan di laboratorium fisiologi UPI. Instrumen yang digunakan dalam penilitian ini menurut diagram Vee dan Instrumen analisis struktur yang dikembangkan. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa komponen konseptual sudah sesuai dengan tuntutan kurikulum. Komponen praktikal seperti langkah kerja, perekaman objek, dan standar operasional prosedur (SOP) kegiatan perlu diperbaiki dan direkontruksi kembali. Komponen kontruksi pengetahuan sudah cukup baik dan perlu perbaikan dan rekontruksi. Sehingga dapat disimpulkan bahwa LKPD uji golongan darah sistem ABO perlu direkontruksi kembali.

Abstract

The Industrial Revolution 4.0 is a challenge for the quality of education in Indonesia. One way to improve the quality of education is through practical work using student’s practical worksheet. Biology Practical Worksheet on Blood Structure Subject. The study was a descriptive qualitative and the research subject was the student’s practical worksheet on blood structure. The used sampling technique was total sampling, which included six student worksheets of KTSP 2006 and four student worksheets of 2013 Curriculum. The used instruments were the instrument of conceptual analysis and practical analysis, which were self-developed, also the instrument of cognitive construction analysis based on Vee Diagram. The findings show the tested worksheet includes some issues on conceptual, procedural, and cognitive construction. The issue on conceptual relies on the work procedure which was not aligned with the objective. The issue on practical are: 1) the difficulty on object identification; 2) the recorded-data was not structured; and 3) there were no safety-lab procedure. The issue on cognitive construction are: 1) the object / event was not in accordance with focused-question; 2) the identified-concept was not based on any principle or theory; 3) the notes / transformation was not in accordance with the main procedure; and 4) the cognitive claim was not in accordance with concept, principle, or theory. Abstrak. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk memberikan gambaran mengenai permasalahan LKS praktikum struktur darah di SMA. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian deskriptif kualitatif dan subjek penelitian ini adalah LKS praktikum struktur darah. Teknik sampling yang digunakan yaitu total sampling, sampel terdiri dari 6 LKS pada KTSP 2006 dan 4 LKS pada Kurikulum 2013. Instrumen yang digunakan meliputi instrumen analisis konseptual dan analisis praktikal yang dikembangkan oleh penulis serta instrumen analisis kontruksi pengetahuan berdasarkan Diargam Vee. Hasil temuan menunjukkan LKS praktikum struktur darah masih terdapat masalah pada konseptual, prosedural dan konstruksi pengetahuan. Permasalahan pada konseptual yaitu langkah kerja yang tidak sesuai dengan judul/tujuan. Permasalahan pada praktikal yaitu: 1) sulitnya mengidentifikasi objek / fenomena; 2) perekaman data tidak terstruktur; dan 3) tidak adanya prosedur safety lab. Sedangkan permasalahan pada konstruksi pengetahuan yaitu: 1) objek / peristiwa tidak sesuai dengan pertanyaan fokus; 2) konsep teridentifikasi tanpa prinsip dan teori; 3) catatan / transformasi tidak sesuai dengan kegiatan utama; dan 4) klaim pengetahuan tidak sesuai dengan konsep, prinsip dan teori.

Abstract

Scientific Reasoning is the systematic and logical thinking skills for problem solving. The purpose of this preliminary study is to find out the scientific reasoning profile of students in grade XI of Sukabumi City Public High School on Ecosystem material which was conducted in February in the 3rd week in one of the Sukabumi City State High Schools. This research uses descriptive method, the approach used is quantitative approach. Samples were taken using a purposive sampling technique of 30 students. This research instrument was in the form of a scientific reasoning test developed by Lawson namely the LCTSR (Lawson Classroom Test of Scientific Reasoning) type. The questions used consist of 35 multiple choice questions with LCTSR type with 6 indicators of scientific reasoning namely proportional, probabilistic, correlational, identification and control of variables, volume conservation and hypothetic-deductive. Data analysis with scoring technique is done in pairs which gives a description of the pattern and level of students' scientific reasoning abilities. From the results of the study showed that the scientific reasoning profile of class XI State Senior High School students in Sukabumi City in 2019/2020 had the highest reasoning pattern in the transitional operational category of 76.7% and had a level of scientific reasoning in the less-than-average category. average percentage of 30.05%. But these results must still be improved again by using methods, models and learning approaches that are able to train students' scientific reasoning.

Abstract

Biology as science is not detached from the demands to help students gain an understanding as much as possible of scientific knowledge in accordance with their needs and also able to develop students ' understanding of the methods that knowledge is acquired. One of the many methods used in biological learning is the practical work. To learn using the practical work is not separated from the needs of worksheets that fit the purpose of learning. Some worksheets that teachers use sometimes do not comply with what should be, according to the prevailing curriculum demands. Therefore, this research aims to analyse the conformity of worksheets by using Analysis, Trial and Reconstruction (ANCOR) methods. The study was conducted by taking six worksheets that selected according to the worksheet which is commonly used in practical activity of plasmolysis observation in plant cells. This research is included in qualitative descriptive. The instrument used is an analysis of the conformity of worksheets that was conducted from the research carried out by Wahidah, et.al. (2018) and also analyses using a Vee diagram rubric adapted from research conducted by Supriatno (2013). The results of the study found that the worksheets used in the practice of Plasmolysis observation is still less appropriate to be used as a good for practical activities both conceptually, practical, and knowledge reconstruction and still in low conformity based on the analysis of the Vee diagram. Abstrak. Biologi sebagai ilmu sains menuntut pemahaman tentang pengetahuan ilmiah yang sesuai dengan kebutuhan dan mampu mengembangkan pemahaman metode atau cara pengetahuan itu diperoleh. Salah satu metode yang digunakan pada pembelajaran biologi adalah metode praktikum. Pembelajaran menggunakan metode praktikum tidak terlepas dari adanya kebutuhan Lembar Kerja Peserta Didik (LKPD) yang sesuai, namun LKPD yang digunakan guru terkadang tidak sesuai dengan tuntutan kurikulum yang berlaku. Untuk itu, penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis kesesuaian pada LKPD yang digunakan dengan menggunakan metode Analisis, uji Coba dan Rekontruksi (ANCOR). Penelitian dilakukan dengan mengambil enam LKPD yang dipilih berdasarkan LKPD yang biasa digunakan dalam kegiatan praktikum pengamatan plasmolisis pada sel tumbuhan. Penelitian ini termasuk ke dalam penelitian deskriptif kualitatif karena besifat menggambarkan hasil dari penelitian. Instrumen yang digunakan berupa analisis kesesuaian LKPD yang diadptasi dari penelitian yang dilakukan oleh Wahidah, et.al. (2018) dan juga analisis menggunakan rubrik diagram vee yang diadaptasi dari penelitian yang dilakukan oleh Supriatno (2013). Hasil penelitian ditemukan bahwa LKPD yang digunakan pada praktikum pengamatan plasmolisis masih kurang sesuai untuk dijadikan LKPD yang baik dan masih berada pada kualitas yang rendah berdasarkan analisis dari diagram vee.

Abstract

Student worksheets are guidelines used by teachers and students in practicum activities. This study aims to analyze and reconstruct the students worksheets are less qualified and not in accordance with established standards. This research is a descriptive qualitative analysis research which aims to analyze and reconstruct student worksheets with the 1)Analysis; 2)Try; 3)Reconstruction stage. The analysis was conducted on 6 student worksheet on Plant Network Structure and Function based on the KTSP Curriculum and 2013 Curriculum using the Laboratory Activity Analysis Form instrument and the Vee Diagram scoring table. The trial was conducted at the FPMIPA Plant Structure Laboratory, Universitas Pendidikan Indonesia. Student worksheets reconstruction is based on the problems found in the conceptual, practical and knowledge construction aspects after analysis and testing. The results showed that there were problems with student worksheets in the Structure and Function of Plant Tissue from conceptual, practical and knowledge construction aspects. In the conceptual aspect, for the suitability of competence with Basic Competence and suitability of activities with the cognitive level of students, the percentage is only 16.6%. In the practical aspect 66.7% of the student worksheets analyzed the procedure incorrectly so that the phenomenon objects that appear are not relevant to the objectives / titles of student worksheets . In the aspect of knowledge construction 66.6% of student worksheets analyzed the questions can be answered without doing practicum and there are no questions about data interpretation, the emergence of a principle and analysis so that drawing conclusions is not based on facts and does not describe the title/purpose. Based on the acquisition of component scores Diagram Vee student worksheets Structure and Function of Plant Tissue has not reached an ideal score (18). The Vee Diagram component that does not appear at all is knowledge claims (score 0). Abstrak. Lembar kerja siswa merupakan pedoman yang digunakan oleh guru dan siswa dalam kegiatan praktikum. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis dan merekontruksi lembar kerja siswa yang kurang berkualitas dan tidak sesuai dengan standar yang telah ditetapkan. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian analisis deskriptif kualitatif yang bertujuan untuk menganalisis dan merekontruksi lembar kerja siswa dengan metode ANCOR (Analisis-Coba-Rekontruksi). Analisis dilakukan pada 6 LKS Struktur dan Fungsi Jaringan Tumbuhan berdasarkan Kurikulum KTSP dan Kurikulum 2013 menggunakan instrumen Form Analisis Kegiatan Laboratorium dan tabel penskoran Diagram Vee. Uji coba dilakukan di Laboratorium Struktur Tumbuhan FPMIPA Universitas Pendidikan Indonesia. Rekontruksi LKS dilakukan berdasarkan permasalahan yang ditemukan pada aspek konseptual, praktikal dan kontruksi pengetahuan setelah melakukan analisis dan ujicoba. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa terdapat permasalahan pada LKS Struktur dan Fungsi Jaringan Tumbuhan dari aspek konseptual, praktikal dan kontruksi pengetahuan. Pada aspek konseptual, untuk kesesuaian kompetensi dengan Kompetensi Dasar dan kesesuaian kegiatan dengan tingkat kognitif siswa, persentasenya hanya 16,6%. Pada aspek praktikal 66,7% dari LKS yang dianalisis prosedurnya tidak tepat sehingga objek fenomena yang muncul tidak relevan dengan tujuan/judul LKS. Pada aspek kontruksi pengetahuan 66,6% dari LKS yang dianalisis pertanyaannya dapat dijawab tanpa melakukan praktikum dan tidak ada pertanyaan mengenai interpretasi data, kemunculan suatu prinsip dan analisis sehingga penarikan kesimpulan tidak berdasarkan fakta dan tidak menggambarkan judul/tujuan. Berdasarkan perolehan skor komponen Diagram Vee LKS Struktur dan Fungsi Jaringan Tumbuhan belum mencapai skor ideal (18). Komponen Diagram Vee yang tidak muncul sama sekali adalah klaim pengetahuan (skor 0).
