Abstract

The research investigates the success factors behind the acquisition process of PT Pamapersada Nusantara (PAMA) of PT Agincourt Resources (PTAR) and provides insights into how successful strategic management within various aspects can lead to successful mergers and acquisitions in the mining sector. A qualitative case study approach was employed in the study. The 11 key managerial personnel of PTAR were engaged and an interview was used to gather extensive data on the acquisition process. Thematic analysis was conducted on the collected data using NVivo software. Five key success factors were identified: strategic communication, cultural integration, leadership, complementary resources, and employee commitment. Strategic communication was essential for ensuring the company's vision and goals were aligned to minimize change resistance. The importance of addressing and accommodating differences during the post-acquisition process to ensure smooth integration was highlighted with cultural integration. The organization's sustainable leadership was crucial during the transition and for achieving long-term success. Complementary resources were critical for operational efficiency, and employee commitment was important for stability and continued performance post-acquisition. These findings provide a useful framework for companies entering the M&A process and indicate that a holistic approach encompasses clear communication, cultural homogenization, visionary leadership, resource optimization, and integrated and committed employees.

Abstract

In the contemporary educational landscape, the need for effective and adaptable evaluation tools is increasingly critical. This study embarked on designing an innovative educational framework for the topic 'How We Live and Grow' using the Research and Development (R&D) method, articulated through the 4D model (Define, Design, Develop, and Disseminate). The objective was to develop a multifaceted instrument that supports primary education by bridging theoretical knowledge and practical application across cognitive domains from basic knowledge (C1) to creative synthesis (C6). The methodology involved collaborative design with educators, iterative development, and rigorous expert validation. Results showed that the framework successfully produced 20 multiple-choice questions, validated with high scores ranging from 86.25% to 91.25% by material and language experts, affirming the tool's reliability and educational value. This study not only enhanced the quality of teaching through tailored, context-relevant assessments but also contributed to educational research by developing a validated instrument that effectively measures and supports diverse cognitive skills in real-world settings. The framework's potential for broad application suggests a significant impact on shaping future educational practices and assessments.

Abstract

The research investigated the influence of digital media integration and social and cultural factors on the knowledge, attitudes, and preventative behaviors regarding HIV/AIDS among adolescents. The objective was to assess how these variables correlate and contribute to enhancing HIV/AIDS prevention strategies within this demographic. Utilizing a quantitative research methodology, data were collected from 398 respondents and analyzed through descriptive statistics, correlation analysis, independent samples T-tests, ANOVA, linear regression, principal component analysis (PCA), and exploratory factor analysis (EFA). The findings revealed no significant correlations between the use of digital media, social and cultural factors, and adolescents' knowledge, attitudes, and behaviors related to HIV/AIDS prevention. Similarly, regression models indicated that these variables did not significantly predict knowledge about HIV/AIDS. The PCA and EFA did not identify significant components or factors that could explain variance in responses concerning HIV/AIDS prevention. In conclusion, the study suggests that digital media, alongside social and cultural factors, does not significantly impact adolescents' knowledge, attitudes, and preventative behaviors toward HIV/AIDS. This research contributes to the scientific understanding of HIV/AIDS prevention in adolescents, indicating a need for exploring additional factors that might influence effective prevention strategies.

Abstract

The qualitative study investigated the impact of the English With Tiffani App on vocabulary learning among students, against a backdrop of increasing reliance on digital tools in education. The objective was to evaluate the app's effectiveness as a Mobile Assisted Language Learning (MALL) tool and to understand student perceptions regarding its usage. Using a descriptive qualitative research methodology, data were collected through interviews with students who had used the app for vocabulary enhancement. The results revealed that students found the app beneficial for learning new vocabulary and engaging due to its gamified elements and user-friendly interface. It was concluded that the English With Tiffani App significantly aids in vocabulary acquisition, enhancing students' language learning experiences and outcomes. This study contributes to educational technology by providing empirical evidence on the advantages of gamification in language learning and by suggesting practical implications for incorporating similar digital tools in educational settings to improve student engagement and learning outcomes.

Abstract

The integration of educational games in academic settings has consistently improved student engagement and retention of knowledge, particularly in writing education. However, the use of these games to embed national values such as Indonesia's Pancasila within persuasive writing curricula remains underexplored. This study aimed to develop and assess the effectiveness of an Android-based Snakes and Ladders game that integrates Pancasila values to enhance persuasive writing skills among junior high school students. Employing a structured framework, the research was conducted with 70 students. A comprehensive needs analysis was performed using a survey to evaluate students' experiences with existing educational tools and their receptiveness to the game-based learning model. Statistical analysis of survey responses confirmed the reliability of the assessment tools and helped in refining the game design. The results demonstrated significant improvements in students' persuasive writing skills and their engagement with the educational content, confirming the game's effectiveness in integrating academic and cultural education. This study introduces a novel approach by using an educational game to merge persuasive writing education with the inculcation of national values, providing a dual focus that enhances both academic abilities and cultural identity. The findings contribute to educational technology and curriculum development by offering a scalable model that can be adapted in diverse educational settings to merge cultural education with academic learning. This approach has significant implications for regions prioritizing the integration of cultural values into education, suggesting a path forward for educational reform that harmonizes tradition with technological advancements.
