Abstract

This study aims to analyze the influence of Sendang Gile tourism on the behavior of junior high school students at SMPN 3 Bayan, North Lombok Regency, during the 2022/2023 academic year. Tourism in the Bayan area not only provides economic impacts but also social and cultural consequences, particularly on adolescent behavior. This research employed a descriptive qualitative approach using observation, interviews, and documentation. The results revealed that tourism significantly influenced student behavior, both positively and negatively. Positive impacts included improved communication skills, openness, and enthusiasm for learning foreign languages. Negative impacts involved tendencies to imitate tourist lifestyles that are inconsistent with local norms. Supporting factors included parental, school, and village government support, while inhibiting factors were weak social control and lack of environmental supervision. In conclusion, Sendang Gile tourism plays an important role in shaping student behavior, requiring collaborative efforts among parents, schools, and the community to direct tourism’s influence in a positive direction.

Abstract

This study explores the challenges faced by parents in Bejelo Hamlet, Jonggat District, Central Lombok, in sending their children to higher education during the 2022/2023 academic year. Using a qualitative descriptive approach, data were collected through observations, in-depth interviews with parents, students, teachers, and community leaders, alongside documentation from schools and relevant institutions. Data analysis followed an interactive process involving data reduction, data display, and conclusion drawing. The results reveal three primary issues: (1) economic constraints, as most parents are farmers with limited income; (2) motivational factors, where some children lack the drive to continue their studies and prefer work; and (3) informational barriers, with parents having limited knowledge of higher education and scholarship opportunities. The study concludes that significant structural and cultural barriers remain in pursuing higher education. A collaborative effort among schools, local governments, communities, and families is essential to foster a more supportive educational environment. Recommendations include need-based scholarships, increased awareness of higher education, and career guidance at the secondary school level.

Abstract

This study examines the role of the School Committee in enhancing education quality at MI Hidayatul Atfal Batu Samban, West Lombok, during 2023. Employing a descriptive qualitative method through observation, interviews, and documentation, findings show that the committee performs three essential functions: (1) supporting through financial assistance, infrastructure, and learning activities; (2) advising by providing input for programs and management; and (3) controlling by monitoring program implementation and fund accountability. Key challenges include limited community economic capacity, low parental awareness, and inadequate skills among committee members. To overcome these, the committee strengthens communication with school leadership, promotes self-help initiatives, and encourages community participation. The study highlights the importance of collaboration among committees, school leaders, teachers, and the community, recommending capacity building and stronger regulatory support to sustain improvements.

Abstract

PKBM Ulil Absor in Jago Village, Praya District, Central Lombok Regency, plays a crucial role in improving the quality of life for the community through non-formal education programs, particularly in developing life skills. Programs such as sewing and welding courses provide practical skills that can be directly applied in daily life, helping to reduce unemployment and boost the local economy. Despite its progress, PKBM faces several challenges, including board members holding multiple positions and limited support from the community and government. To ensure the sustainability of the programs, improvements in board professionalism, better community outreach, and increased government support are necessary. This article discusses the role of PKBM Ulil Absor in community empowerment, the challenges it faces in implementation, and offers recommendations for further development to enhance the effectiveness and impact of the programs.
