Abstract

This study examines the role of the school principal as a manager in developing teacher professionalism and improving the quality of graduates at State Elementary School 2 Purwokerto Wetan. The research addresses the growing need for effective educational leadership in responding to the increasing demands of teacher competence and institutional quality. A qualitative case study approach was employed to explore leadership practices in a real educational setting. Data were collected through in-depth interviews, participatory field findings, and document analysis, and were analyzed using an interactive model involving data reduction, data display, and conclusion drawing. The findings reveal that the principal implements an integrated leadership strategy through training programs, learning supervision, specialized training, role modeling, and continuous professional development. These strategies contribute to improving teachers’ pedagogical competence, discipline, and professional commitment. The study also identifies several challenges, including limited resources, policy constraints, and varying levels of teacher motivation, which influence the effectiveness of professional development efforts. The findings highlight that teacher professionalism is most effectively developed through a continuous and systemic approach rather than isolated interventions. This study contributes to educational management by proposing an integrated model of principal leadership that emphasizes the combination of managerial practices and value internalization in fostering sustainable teacher professionalism and improving educational quality.

Abstract

This study examines the concept of educating with the heart from the perspective of Ibn Qayyim al-Jawziyyah and its implications for modern education. The research is grounded in the concern that contemporary education often emphasizes cognitive achievement while neglecting moral, emotional, and spiritual dimensions. Therefore, this study aims to explore how heart-based education can provide a more holistic educational framework. This research employs a qualitative library research approach using philosophical and conceptual analysis. Primary sources include major works of Ibn Qayyim, while secondary sources support the interpretation and contextualization of his educational thought within modern educational discourse. Data were analyzed through content analysis to identify key themes related to heart-based education and its practical implications. The findings reveal that educating with the heart emphasizes compassion, sincerity, empathy, understanding of human nature (fitrah), gradual discipline, and reliance on prayer. These principles contribute to the development of balanced individuals by integrating cognitive, affective, and spiritual aspects. In modern education, this concept implies the need for student-centered learning enriched with moral and spiritual values, reflective practices, and character-based evaluation systems. It also redefines the role of teachers as moral guides, not merely knowledge transmitters. The concept of educating with the heart is highly relevant to modern education as it addresses moral and spiritual gaps while supporting holistic human development. However, this study is limited to a conceptual framework and lacks empirical validation. Future research is recommended to apply this concept in educational settings and to conduct comparative and empirical studies for broader applicability.

Abstract

This study examines the transformation of educational management in the era of online media, with a focus on the role and responsibility of digital corporations in shaping information ecosystems. The rapid expansion of digital platforms has fundamentally altered how knowledge is produced, accessed, and managed, placing educational institutions within complex and interconnected information environments. However, the dominance of digital corporations as information gatekeepers raises critical challenges related to accountability, misinformation, and the quality of educational content. This research employs a Systematic Literature Review (SLR) approach by analyzing peer-reviewed articles published between 2020 and 2025 from databases such as Scopus, ScienceDirect, and Google Scholar. The review process follows PRISMA guidelines, including identification, screening, eligibility, and inclusion stages. Data were analyzed using thematic analysis to identify key patterns related to digital transformation, information governance, and corporate accountability. The findings reveal that educational management has shifted toward a networked digital system where online media plays a central role in knowledge acquisition. Digital corporations significantly influence information visibility through algorithmic systems, yet their accountability remains limited, particularly in addressing misinformation. In addition, weak regulatory frameworks and limited multi-stakeholder collaboration further complicate efforts to ensure information quality. The study concludes that educational management must adopt adaptive and responsive strategies by integrating digital literacy, critical thinking, and information governance. Strengthening collaboration between educational institutions, policymakers, and digital corporations is essential to create a more accountable and sustainable digital education ecosystem.

Abstract

The rapid advancement of digital technology has transformed educational practices, requiring institutions to adopt effective digital learning systems. However, significant challenges remain, particularly in Islamic educational institutions, where limitations in technological readiness, human resource capacity, and management processes hinder optimal implementation. This study addresses the lack of an integrated framework by examining digital learning management through the golden triangle model, which consists of technology, people, and process. Using a qualitative multi-case study approach, this research was conducted in two Madrasah Aliyah Negeri in Bogor City. Data were collected through in-depth interviews, field findings, and documentation, and analyzed using the Miles and Huberman model supported by NVivo. The findings reveal that effective digital learning management is achieved through the synergy of three key components. The technology component includes blended learning, online learning, and classroom-based digital tools that support flexible learning environments. The people component highlights the collaborative roles of stakeholders, including school leaders, teachers, IT personnel, students, parents, and government institutions. Meanwhile, the process component reflects a structured managerial cycle involving policy, planning, organizing, implementation, and supervision supported by adequate infrastructure. Cross-case analysis indicates consistent implementation patterns across both research sites. These findings imply that successful digital learning in madrasah education requires a balanced and integrated management approach rather than isolated improvements in individual components. The study provides a conceptual and practical framework that can guide policymakers, school leaders, and educators in strengthening digital learning systems. Furthermore, it emphasizes the importance of aligning technological innovation with organizational capacity and educational values, particularly in the context of Islamic education, to ensure sustainable and effective digital transformation.

Abstract

This study aims to systematically examine the impact of transformational leadership on teacher performance and school quality in contemporary educational contexts. Responding to the growing demand for improving educational quality and the fragmented nature of existing research, this study employs a Systematic Literature Review (SLR) approach following PRISMA guidelines. Data were collected from major academic databases, including Scopus, Web of Science, ERIC, and Google Scholar, focusing on empirical studies published between 2020 and 2025. A total of selected articles were analyzed using thematic analysis to identify key patterns and relationships. The findings indicate that transformational leadership consistently contributes to improving teacher performance, particularly in terms of motivation, job satisfaction, professional commitment, and instructional innovation. In addition, it plays a significant role in enhancing school quality by fostering a positive organizational culture, strengthening collaboration, and supporting continuous institutional development. However, the effectiveness of transformational leadership is influenced by contextual factors such as organizational readiness, leadership competence, and policy support. This study highlights that transformational leadership functions not only as an administrative approach but also as a strategic mechanism for sustainable educational improvement. The findings offer practical implications for school leaders and policymakers in developing adaptive and context-sensitive leadership practices.

Abstract

This study examines the implementation of school branding strategies in developing institutional image and enhancing the attractiveness of prospective students at MAN Lumajang. The research addresses the increasing competition among educational institutions, which requires schools to establish strong identities and gain public trust. Using a qualitative approach with a case study design, data were collected through in-depth interviews, participatory observation, and document analysis involving key stakeholders, including the principal, vice principals, students, and parents. The findings reveal that MAN Lumajang implements a holistic and integrated branding strategy that combines academic excellence, skill-based programs, and Islamic character development. Branding is not only carried out through external promotion but also through strengthening internal quality and institutional culture. The use of multi-channel communication, including social media and collaboration with stakeholders, plays a significant role in disseminating the institution’s achievements and values. The results indicate that this strategy has successfully transformed public perception, strengthened institutional credibility, and increased student enrollment. The study highlights that effective school branding requires alignment between institutional values, practices, and communication strategies. These findings provide practical insights for educational institutions in developing sustainable branding strategies to enhance competitiveness and public trust.

Abstract

This study examines how lecturer career development is implemented within an institutional context, with a particular focus on how academic practices are shaped through the interaction between formal policies and everyday activities. Using a qualitative case study approach, the research was conducted at UIN Maulana Malik Ibrahim Malang, involving faculty leaders, heads of study programs, and lecturers as key informants. Data were collected through in-depth interviews, participant observation, and document analysis, and were analyzed using an interactive model to identify patterns and relationships across different aspects of academic work. The findings show that lecturer career development is not carried out as a single, structured program, but rather emerges through interconnected academic activities, including pedagogical development, research engagement, scientific publication, academic collaboration, and community service. These activities are supported by institutional systems, yet their implementation varies depending on workload, institutional routines, and field conditions. In particular, the integration of research into teaching and the practice of community service demonstrate how formal programs are adapted in real settings. The study highlights that lecturer career development is shaped not only by institutional design but also by how lecturers interpret and carry out their roles in practice. This suggests the need for more adaptive and context-sensitive approaches in managing academic human resources, particularly within Islamic higher education. The findings contribute to a more grounded understanding of lecturer development as a dynamic and practice-based process.

Abstract

Amid an increasingly intense digital landscape, student recruitment promotion in Islamic boarding schools often remains merely an administrative practice rather than a pedagogical space. This gap raises fundamental questions about the possibility of integrating social media into an authentic learning process. This study aims to examine the management of student recruitment promotion as an outcome of social media learning at PPATQ Raudlatul Falah Pati, using a qualitative case study approach and employing participatory observation, in-depth interviews, and digital content analysis. The research findings indicate that promotional activities have evolved into a dynamic learning practice. Students do not merely serve as the subjects of promotion but as active content creators who construct religious narratives, visual aesthetics, and institutional identity. This process integrates digital literacy with spiritual character development, resulting in content that is not merely communicative but also reflective and educational. On the other hand, this practice reveals a tension between educational ideals and the logic of digital visibility, which demands a balance between authenticity and representation. This study proposes the concept of pedagogical branding as an integration of learning, student participation, and value-based promotional strategies. These findings contribute to the development of social media theory in Islamic education and offer practical implications for the design of adaptive, participatory, and meaningful learning in the digital age.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the role of managerial supervision in improving the effectiveness of student memorization in the tahfidz program. This research is rooted in the growing demand for quality tahfidz education that ensures not only the quantity of memorization but also retention and consistency. This study used a qualitative, multi-case study involving selected Islamic educational institutions, with data collected through interviews, observations, and documentation. The data were analyzed using thematic analysis to identify patterns related to supervision practices and memorization outcomes. The findings indicate that integrated managerial supervision significantly improved coordination and consistency in memorization activities. Furthermore, the implementation of a 24-hour supervision system strengthened student discipline and supported the process of continuous memorization and revision. Differentiated supervision based on students' memorization capacity also increased motivation and learning effectiveness by aligning targets with individual abilities. Structured evaluation and continuous feedback mechanisms contributed to better retention and performance. The integration of supervision across academic and residential settings enabled real-time monitoring and timely intervention. This study contributes to the development of educational management theory by integrating the frameworks of supervision, adaptive learning, and quality assurance in tahfidz education.
