Abstract

This study aims to describe the implementation of singing methods in improving Arabic vocabulary mastery in early childhood at Kartini Kindergarten. This research was chosen based on observations of the use of singing methods often implemented in 5-6 years old students in group B. However, there was no habit of using Arabic songs in singing, so the researcher took the initiative to implement singing methods associated with the use of vocabulary in order to improve the Arabic vocabulary of 5-6 years old children in group B at Kartini Kindergarten. The approach used in this study was descriptive qualitative with data collection techniques through observation and interviews with teachers. Data analysis was carried out through reduction, presentation, and inductive conclusion drawing. The results of the study show that the application of a structured singing method is effective in enriching children's Arabic vocabulary. The songs used are adapted to the learning theme and supported by song movements, thereby increasing creativity and confidence in students. It can be concluded that in this study, the singing method suggests that it is an effective and relevant strategy for increasing Arabic vocabulary in children aged 5–6 years.

Abstract

Calligraphy is a centuries-old Islamic cultural heritage in the Arabian Peninsula. However, many people lack the skill to write Arabic calligraphy. Therefore, the Arabic Language Education Department offers calligraphy lessons to enhance the aesthetic quality of handwriting and to understand letter structures from various script styles. Consequently, the development of calligraphy education continues at the Islamic University of Darussalam Lamongan to promote this skill. This study employs a qualitative method, with students as the research subjects, who apply Islamic calligraphy directly observed during the learning process. Unstructured interviews are conducted regarding various Arabic-Islamic scripts, including: Kufic, Diwani, Thuluth, Ruq’ah, among others. Hence, the importance of studying calligraphy education emerges as part of developing the scientific, cultural, and civilizational treasury of Islam in the archipelago (Nusantara) and the wider Islamic world at the international level. Additionally, this study highlights the role of continuous practice and guidance in improving students’ competencies. Keywords: Teaching, Learning, Calligraphy Art.

Abstract

The lack of specialized digital tools for structured auditory exposure frequently limits the development of Arabic listening skills (mahārah al-istimā’) at the secondary education level, as observed in preliminary studies at SMP IT Yasalam where conventional audio methods showed limited engagement. This study develops and evaluates the effectiveness of MABBAR, a web-based evaluation system that integrates Native Speaker Text-to-Speech (TTS) and automated feedback to provide self-regulated auditory input. Using a Research and Development (R&D) approach with a modified Borg & Gall model (1983), the study progressed through eight stages from needs analysis to dissemination. The subjects were 39 eighth-grade students at SMP IT Yasalam, Bogor. Data were collected via expert validation rubrics, pre-test/post-test instruments, and a 20-item usability questionnaire using a 5-point Likert scale. The findings indicate that MABBAR is highly feasible, with material experts scoring it 5.00/5.00 and media experts scoring 4.87/5.00. Statistical analysis through a paired-sample t-test revealed a significant improvement in student performance ($p = 0.001$), with the mean score increasing from 74.64 to 84.26. Based on the perception questionnaire, students gave a 96.64% positive response, specifically identifying the benefit of independent audio control in reducing cognitive load. MABBAR transforms the listening evaluation process into an adaptive, self-regulated learning ecosystem suitable for the Society 5.0 era.
