Abstract

This research is motivated by the obligation of a teacher in making a Lesson Plan (RPP in Indonesian language) prior to conducting instructional activities. Consequently, it is imperative for prospective teachers, specifically students enrolled in the PGSD programme at Ngudi Waluyo University, to possess the ability to effectively and accurately develop lesson plans in accordance with relevant regulations. The primary objective of this study is to examine the learning objectives of the theme RPP (Rencana Pelaksanaan Pembelajaran) in the Indonesian Language and Literature Learning course within the elementary school curriculum of 2013, specifically focusing on the low grade level. The participants in this study were randomly selected fourth-semester thematic RPP 3 students of PGSD at the University of Ngudi Waluyo. These students were enrolled in the Low Class Elementary School Indonesian Language and Literature Learning course. The employed methodology is the descriptive qualitative approach. Based on the findings derived from the analysis of the three thematic lesson plans, it can be deduced that there exists a congruence between the learning objectives outlined in the implementation of the 2013 curriculum and the objectives stipulated in the relevant laws and regulations. Each lesson plan demonstrates alignment with the analysed aspects, specifically: 1) the learning objectives under scrutiny, which encompass the intended learning outcomes as prescribed. The Core Competencies (KI) encompass various components, including spiritual attitudes, social attitudes, knowledge, and abilities. 2) The learning objectives are aligned with the Basic Competencies (KD). 3) The learning objectives incorporate Operational Verbs. 4) The learning objectives encompass the ABCD components.

Abstract

The title of this article is "The Role of Multilingualism in the Decline of the Teochew Dialect in Medan." The present study is grounded on the theoretical framework of Sociolinguistics, which encompasses the examination of language characteristics, variations, and functions, as well as the analysis of language usage within social interactions. The objective of this study is to provide an overview of the social context of the Teochew community in Medan, with a specific focus on the Teochew dialect. The employed research methodology is qualitative in nature. The terms "data collection method" and "technique used" pertain to the approach employed for gathering information, as well as the skillful manner in which it is recorded and documented. The Chinese population residing in Medan is recognised for their multilingual abilities, as they are proficient in speaking multiple languages. These languages include Bahasa Indonesia, which serves as the national language of Indonesia; Hokkien, a dialect commonly used for communication in Medan; their respective mother tongues, employed for intrafamilial and intraethnic interactions (Teochew, Hakka, Cantonese, Hailufeng, Hokchiu, Henghua, and Hainan); Mandarin, spoken by a subset of the Chinese community; and English, acquired as a global language of instruction. As a result of their multilingualism, individuals of Chinese descent, particularly those from the Teochew community, have a tendency to incorporate elements of their native language into their everyday speech. Consequently, a significant proportion of individuals progressively lose proficiency in and cease to utilise their native language over the 4.0 period, leading to the endangerment of the Teochew Chinese dialect in Medan. Abstract

The primary aim of this paper is to examine the degree of language vitality in the Banggai District by analysing patterns of language usage and intergenerational language transmission within the family domain. Luwuk Banggai serves as the primary hub for educational and commercial activities within the Banggai Regency. The presence of diverse languages in the Banggai Region has resulted in a multilingual society. The Malay Manado language is frequently employed as a lingua franca in addition to the Indonesian language and the three other indigenous languages. The prevalence of these two languages has been contributing to the gradual decline or potential extinction of the Balantak, Banggai, and Saluan languages in the near future. The Balantak Language warrants greater attention due to its relatively small number of speakers in comparison to the two other indigenous languages. This study examines the factors that influence the preservation of local languages within the family domain, as well as the specific areas in which these languages are maintained. Additionally, the obstacles encountered in this preservation process are explored. The research employs a qualitative methodology. The data are acquired by the utilisation of observation, interviews, and document analysis techniques. The present study has identified multiple elements that provide obstacles in the preservation and upkeep of this particular language.
