Abstract

This community service initiative originated from the KKN–Berdampak (Community Service Program with Impact) conducted by students of the Bima College of Economics (STIE Bima). The program was motivated by the limited product innovation, insufficient understanding of branding strategies, and the lack of digital technology utilization among food-based MSMEs, which consequently weakens their competitiveness and contribution to regional food security. The implementation methods included field observations to identify local food potential, socialization on the importance of creative business, product innovation training, digital marketing workshops, mentoring on design and branding, as well as evaluation and monitoring of program outcomes. The results showed improved participants’ abilities in developing creative food products, enhancing packaging and brand identity, and utilizing digital media for marketing. Through this creative and innovative approach, the program successfully encouraged MSMEs to become more independent, adaptive, and competitive in supporting sustainable food security.

Abstract

Indonesia has significant potential in coconut production, with a land area reaching 3.7 million hectares and annual production exceeding 2.8 million tons. In West Sumatra, coconut processing is still traditional, thus not optimally increasing the economic value of the community. This community service activity aims to improve the skills of Nagari Sungai Jambur residents in processing coconuts into high-value Virgin Coconut Oil (VCO). The method used is descriptive qualitative through observation and interviews. The training was conducted in three sessions: socialization of the benefits and process of VCO production, hands-on practice, and product filtration after 24 hours of fermentation. The results showed active community participation and the successful production of clear, distinctive-flavored VCO. This activity not only increased community knowledge and skills but also opened up new business opportunities based on local potential. This training directly supports the achievement of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), specifically SDG 1 (No Poverty), SDG 8 (Decent Work and Economic Growth), and SDG 12 (Responsible Consumption and Production).

Abstract

Indonesia's current economic growth as a support for development development, one of which is Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs). This is shown by the number of business actors and the high absorption of labor for MSMEs by 97%. Bakpia Yasmin's business is one of the MSMEs engaged in the food sector. Bakpia Yasmin was founded by Mrs. Yusmini since 2020 which is located in Mojorayung Village RT 16/RW 04, Wungu District, Madiun Regency, East Java. Based on the results of the interview. The recording includes the total orders for the day as well as offline and online on a small whiteboard that is updated every day. Furthermore, it is also recorded on a piece of paper without a book which has not been properly archived. Therefore, from these problems, assistance has been carried out in the preparation of financial statements based on EMKM standards for Bakpia Yasmin MSMEs. The participants were very enthusiastic in participating in this training, and hopefully they can use financial statements as evaluation materials for the business carried out

Abstract

This study examines the influence of digital marketing and design innovation on the competitiveness of batik MSMEs in Kulon Progo Regency. Challenges faced by MSMEs include a lack of design innovation, suboptimal use of digital marketing, low productivity of local wisdom-based motifs, and inadequate management of intellectual property rights. The study used a participatory approach involving material delivery, discussions, case studies, and financial simulations. The results indicate that the training successfully improved MSMEs' capabilities in social media management, live selling, and website creation. Design innovation also developed with the emergence of new motifs, the development of contemporary batik techniques, and improved IPR management. However, obstacles remain, such as an ineffective design team and incompletely integrated digital marketing. Recommendations for this study include strengthening the design team, optimizing digital strategies, utilizing AI-based design technology, and long-term follow-up research.

Abstract

The community of Grujugan Village, Petanahan District, Kebumen Regency, has a high interest in Entrepreneurship. Therefore, Sekolah Tinggi Ilmu Ekonomi Widya Wiwaha partnered with Grujugan Village to organize the KATAM Program, with the theme "Building Digital Entrepreneurship." There were 25 participants, selected using purposive sampling based on their interest in becoming digital entrepreneurs. The training method used was a focus group discussion, divided into 5 groups, with the focus on discussing village potential mapping, challenges, and suggestions. Then, eight training sessions were conducted and evaluated through pre-tests and post-tests, with the training results showing satisfactory outcomes: an average pre-test score of 64 and an average post-test score of 86. Subsequently, interest groups were formed, resulting in 6 interest groups, and participants committed to the success of the KATAM program through an integrity pact.
