Abstract

This study aims to describe the impact of using visual learning media on elementary school students' motivation to learn English. The background of the study lies in the lack of student engagement during English lessons, which are often delivered in a monotonous and text-heavy format. The research was conducted at SDN 270 Gentra Masekdas Bandung using a descriptive qualitative approach. The participants consisted of 26 fourth-grade students. Data were collected through three instruments: student evaluation sheets, open-ended questionnaires, and classroom observation forms. The results showed that the use of visual media improved students' understanding of the material, enhanced emotional engagement, and encouraged independent learning and confidence in expressing opinions. Evaluation results indicated that 80% of students achieved a high level of performance. Other findings revealed that visual media fostered a conducive, competitive, and collaborative learning atmosphere. Visual learning media proved to be effective in increasing students' motivation and are recommended for use in English instruction at the elementary level, particularly in the context of 21st-century learning that emphasizes visual and digital literacy.

Abstract

Savings and loan cooperatives play a vital Impact on enhancing the local economy, with a focus on rural and urban areas that lack adequate access to formal financial services. A major obstacle encountered by these entities is cooperatives is the need to manage their finances efficiently through a well-organized and transparent accounting system. Therefore, community service activities, including basic accounting training for partners, namely the managers of Localized cooperative financial institutions specializing in savings and credit in the neighborhood of cluster area GPE Estate, East Pamulang, are crucial for improving the managers' managerial capabilities, particularly in managing cooperative financial administration using accounting. The training implementation approach was participatory and collaborative, encompassing problem identification, field surveys, preparation of training materials, provision of training on accounting concepts and practices, and monitoring and evaluation activities. The evaluation results of the training activities showed an increase in partners' knowledge and skills in understanding and mastering accounting practices. This was evident in the increase in the average test score of participants, from 59.5 before the training to 79.7 after the training. This increase indicates a significant change in participants' understanding of the material presented. This situation indicates that the training activities have a positive impact on increasing transparency in cooperative financial management. By preparing more transparent and easy-to-understand financial reports, members gain greater trust and are encouraged to actively participate in cooperative management. This increased trust has the potential to reduce the potential for internal conflict and support the sustainability and stability of cooperative operations.

Abstract

The development of artificial intelligence (AI) technology has brought about significant changes in various aspects of life, including education. AI is now used not only in industry and business but has also penetrated classrooms as a learning aid, personalized material, and even as a learning evaluation system. However, the use of this technology is not yet fully understood and optimally implemented by educators, especially in madrasah environments. Therefore, an AI literacy training program specifically designed for teachers at Madrasah Aliyah Kun Sholihan is needed. This training is expected to improve teachers' understanding of the basic concepts of AI, its application in learning contexts, and practical skills in using various AI-based platforms or applications to support more interactive, effective, and adaptive teaching and learning activities.

Abstract

This study aims to explore and describe the mathematical concepts embedded in the Apem Wonolelo culture of Sleman Regency through an ethnomathematical approach. The research employed a qualitative method with an ethnographic design. Data were collected through participatory observation, in-depth interviews with apem makers and community leaders, as well as photographic and video documentation of the “Apeman” tradition. The data were analyzed qualitatively and descriptively through the stages of data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion drawing, with data validity ensured through source and technique triangulation. The results reveal five main aspects of ethnomathematics in the Apem Wonolelo tradition: (1) geometry and symmetry in the shape of the apem; (2) ratio and proportion in ingredient composition; (3) patterns and sequences in the production process; (4) measurement of volume and dough capacity; and (5) statistical concepts in the distribution tradition. Each of these aspects reflects the intuitive application of mathematical concepts in daily life. This study highlights that ethnomathematics not only represents local wisdom but also holds great potential as a contextual learning medium that connects culture, social values, and formal mathematical understanding in educational settings.
