Abstract

This study aims to determine how the effect of adding coconut shell ash as a partial substitute for fly ash on the compressive strength of geopolymer concrete and the effect of adding and without adding additives to variations of coconut shell ash. The method of this research is to compare the control concrete with the variation of fly ash mixed with coconut shell ash 5%, 10%, 15%, with and without the addition of 2% superplastizer. From the results of this study it can be concluded that the concrete using 5% coconut shell ash increased by 3.7% from the control concrete, and at the addition of 10% and 15% coconut shell ash decreased the compressive strength of the concrete by 36% and 47, respectively. 5%. For the comparison of the addition of 2% superplastizer to the compressive strength of coconut shell ash geopolymer concrete without using additives of 7.8%, 23.4% and 16.8%, from each variation of coconut shell ash.

Abstract

This research was conducted using hot asphalt (HRS-WC) with coffee grounds waste as a partial filler replacement in asphalt mixtures. The purpose of this research is to analyze the characteristics of hot asphalt mixtures (HRS-WC) using hot asphalt with variations of coffee grounds waste as a partial filler replacement with repeated immersion. This study used coffee grounds waste with an accumulation of 20%, 25% and 30% of the filler weight. The soaking times in this study were 3, 7, and 14 days with repeated soaking. The manufacture of test specimens refers to the 2018 Bina Marga Specification. Testing using the Marshall Test. In the addition of coffee grounds waste as a partial substitute for filler as much as 20%, 25% and 30% of the asphalt mixture properties meet the limits of the 2018 Bina Marga Specifications. The best value in the properties of the asphalt mixture in this study is 20% at 3 days immersion, while the 30% mixture does not meet one of the properties of the asphalt mixture, namely the VIM value which is not within the specification limits.

Abstract

Asbuton is one of Indonesia's natural resources that can be utilized to improve road quality because it has an asphalt content of 10% to 35%. Cold Paving Hot Mix Asbuton (CPHMA) as a cold spread hot mix that occurs from aggregate, buton granules, rejuvenating agents and other added materials that have been mixed properly at the factory and marketed ready to be spread and compacted in asphalt road pavement. The aim of the study was to determine the effect of the addition of Portland cement on the characteristics of buton CPHMA asphalt mixture and to analyze the percentage of the best Portland cement content and meet the requirements for buton CPHMA asphalt mixture. This study used Portland cement with the addition of 4%, 8%, 12%, 16% and 20%. Testing is done with the marshall test tool. The results showed that with increasing levels of variation in Portland Cement, the stability, VFB, and MQ values decreased. The Flow, VMA, and VIM values have increased. The percentage of Portland cement content in the CPHMA Buton asphalt mixture is the best at a cement content of 12%.

Abstract

Indonesia is one of the countries that have natural wealth on Buton Island, commonly known as Buton Asphalt. One of the products is Cold Paving Hot Mix Asbuton (CPHMA). CPHMA is a natural asphalt mixture consisting of aggregates, buton grains, juvenile substances and other added substances, which are hotly mixed and ready for cold use. CPHMA is widely used on low-traffic roadways. The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of repeated solidification on the properties of near-cold hot mixed smutons (Cold Paving Hot Mix Asbuton) by testing Marshall's method. This study used repeated solidification methods on the 7th, 14th and 21st days. The test items were made of 18 briquettes consisting of 6 characteristic briquettes and 12 variational briquettes. This study refers to the 2018 Bina Marga Specification. Results from this study show that the influence of repeated solidification on CPHMA asphalt mixtures causes density, stability, MQ and VFB to decrease further. The flow, VMA, and VIM values are increasing.

Abstract

When a beam structure is loaded, it is held in compression by concrete while the tension area is fully carried by reinforcing steel, so that the concrete cross-section in the tension section below the neutral line is not considered to be carrying the load. So in the concrete tension area filled with plastic bottles, in order to obtain a lighter structure, reduce the volume of concrete/cement and reduce environmental pollution. In this study used reinforced concrete beams with dimensions of 175 x 350 x 3200 mm. The test object consists of 3 (three) namely 1 normal beam and 2 hollow beams with the same length, namely 2640 mm and differentiated according to height, namely 120 mm (2 layers of bottles)-BR2 and 180 mm (3 layers of bottles)-BR3. The test results show that the load-deflection relationship is relatively the same. This shows that the voids in the pure bending moment area provide relatively the same stiffness as the normal beam stiffness. The crack patterns for all test results show that normal and hollow beams experience flexural failure.

Abstract

On the Belopa Road Section – Palopo City Boundary KM. 333+800 in Salu Paremang Village, Kamanre District, Luwu Regency, Cilellang area, is a national road that is parallel to the Paremang River, approximately 5-10 meters away. As a result of water scouring during a flood in the Paremang River, it resulted in a downward slide so that the road was eroded and caused half of the road to collapse towards the river. The purpose of this study was to find out how to handle road landslides due to scouring of the Paremang River, and to calculate and analyze the methods of handling landslides on roads due to scouring of the Paremang River. This study uses the method of analysis of soil retaining, the soil retaining used is sheet pile retaining walls. The results of Sheet Pile calculations and analysis, namely the total required Sheet Pile Length is 32 m. The type of Sheet Pile used is Sheet Pile, SP II. As many as 3 rods per setting.

Abstract

Water is a very important need for life in bum, especially living makhuk such as humans, plants, animals and others. In this case, the fulfillment of clean water to be consumed, both for drinking water and for other needs can be done in various ways, adjusted to existing facilities and infrastructure. This is related to the amount of water loss in the irrigation network caused by evaporation, water intake for other purposes, or leakage along the channel. Based on irrigation planning criteria, the amount of water loss in the irrigation network can be minimized by improving the water management system and improving the physical irrigation infrastructure. So the Bialo secondary channel has an efficiency level of 58% which is still in the good category or still works well to drain water into the tertiary channel. This level of efficiency is supported by the physical building of the bialo secondary canal irrigation which is still in good condition and the Bialo secondary channel although the physical condition of the building is still good, it still experiences water loss caused by evaporation loss and seepage which causes water loss of 0.1368 m3/s. Despite experiencing water loss but still has a level of efficiency that is still in good condition.

Abstract

Hot Rolled Sheet or Thin Layer Asphalt Concrete is a graded gap mixture that uses fine coarse aggregate, fillers, and asphalt in a certain ratio which is compacted hotly. HRS has high durability. Filler functions as a filler for voids between aggregates, the fillers that are often used are cement and fly ash. In this study, the filler used was coffee grounds waste.The purpose of this study was to analyze the effect of adding coffee grounds waste to the properties of the HRS-WC mixture with immersion variation. This study used coffee grounds waste with the addition of 20%, 40%, 60%, 80% and 100%. Samples were made of 61 briquettes consisting of 21 characteristic briquettes and 40 variation briquettes. Some samples were not immersion and some were immersion for 3, 7 and 14 days. Sampling refers to the 2018 Bina Marga Specifications. Sample testing uses a Marshall Test. The test results show that the effect of adding 20% coffee grounds waste with 3-day immersion, the Stability, Flow, Density, Marshall Quotient, VIM, VMA, and VFB values are all within the 2018 Bina Marga Specifications.

Abstract

Concrete is a material that is easy to shape and mold according to the needs of building concrete structures and is able to withstand compressive loads very well, has a relatively long life, is able to withstand high temperatures, and low maintenance costs. From the results of the design of a normal concrete mixture f'c 20 Mpa obtained the composition of cement mix: 379.63 kg/m3, crushed stone 1-2: 998.70 kg/m3, sand: 671.48 kg/m3, and water: 225.18 kg/m3. The compressive strength of normal concrete is higher than the compressive strength of 9% red brick variation concrete and 0% Silicafume by 21.2 Mpa. The more use of red bricks in the concrete mixture, the lower the compressive strength. This suggests that as silicafume variations increase with seawater immersion and freshwater the resulting compressive strength value increases. The compressive strength value with freshwater immersion is higher in seawater. The addition of red bricks to the concrete mixture has increased in bending strength with freshwater soaking compared to seawater soaking and normal concrete. As silicafume variations increase with seawater and freshwater immersion the resulting bending strength value increases as much as in compressive strength.

Abstract

Cold Paving Hot Mix Asbuton is a mixture of asbuton consisting of aggregate, grainy asbuton, rejuvenator, and other additional materials mixed hot and laid cold. Asbuton Cold Paving Hot Mix (CPHMA) is a ready to use asphalt mixture product used as a surface layer for low traffic volume road pavement. This study aimed to calculate and analyze the effect of adding waste used oil to the hot asphalt mixture type CPHMA with soaking time variation on the value of asphalt mixture/marshall properties. This research used used oil with oil content of 5%, 10%, and 15%. Testing was carried out using the Marshall test apparatus. The results showed that the soaking time variation affects the mechanical properties of CPHMA asphalt. The longer the soaking time, the lower the properties of the mixture. The effect of used oil as an additive in the CPHMA asphalt mixture with the best soaking time and the maximum result is obtained when soaked for 5 days with 5% used oil content.
