Abstract

As the demand for bridge infrastructure grows, efficient and effective alternatives for bridge design and analysis are essential. One such case is the Tawaeli I Bridge in Palu, Central Sulawesi, which requires careful design due to the city’s location in a high-seismic zone. The Camelback Truss steel bridge is ideal for this area because of its ability to withstand extreme conditions and provide structural stability during earthquakes. The design analysis for this type of bridge was performed using the Struktur FEM software, which evaluates bending, compression, and tension members. This analysis was validated through manual calculations. The section capacities obtained are: stringers (main longitudinal girders) IWF 500.200.11.17; cross girders (transverse girders) IWF 800.400.18.34; bottom chords (side longitudinal girders) IWF 650.650.18.34; top chords (upper members) IWF 650.650.18.34; diagonal chords (diagonal members) IWF 650.350.14.24; vertical chords (vertical members) IWF 600.200.11.17; transverse bracing IWF 250.250.9.14; diagonal bracing (wind bracing) angle 250.25.25. The mid-span deflection is 75.704 mm, within the allowable deflection of 87.5 mm. The accuracy between the Struktur FEM analysis and manual calculations is 99.9%.

Abstract

Traffic plays an important role in supporting daily activities and economic growth, especially in Makassar City which experiences an increase in traffic volume of around 3% per year. One of the problems that arises is the limited parking area, especially on Jalan Somba Opu which is a trading center. Parking on the roadside reduces road capacity by 30-40% and worsens congestion, especially with the 30° diagonal parking model which leaves an effective road width of only 3 meters. This study analyzes the impact of parking on the roadside on traffic performance, showing that road capacity decreased from 1,750 smp/hour to 1,333 smp/hour due to parking. The degree of saturation value reached 0.89 in conditions with parking and 0.68 without parking, indicating that road services are in categories E and C, respectively. The proposed solution is to provide a larger and more orderly special parking area, as well as strict regulation and supervision. Thus, it is expected that traffic flow on Jalan Somba Opu can increase, reduce congestion, and provide comfort for road users.

Abstract

The bridge, a structural construction used to cross gaps or obstacles like rivers, railroads, or highways, is essential in infrastructure. Replacing Tawaeli I Bridge is part of the government’s initiative to improve road and bridge infrastructure in Indonesia. Tawaeli I Bridge has nearly reached its planned lifespan and thus requires replacement. The current concrete bridge design includes piers within the river flow, which creates issues, especially during the rainy season when rising water levels and carried debris risk damaging the piers. This study focuses on designing a replacement for Tawaeli I with an upper arch bridge structure using a Steel Box Through Arch Bridge system. The new bridge, spanning 80 meters in length and 10 meters in width, is designed without piers in the river, allowing unobstructed flow. It includes longitudinal IWF 500.200.10.16 girders, transverse IWF 900.500.24.36 girders, D 55 mm freyssinet hangers, an arch Box 1100.1000.50.50, and tension Box 1000.900.50.50. This design uses FEM structural software to analyze the structure and internal forces.

Abstract

According to ESDM, 215 ground motion events were reported during 2023. Landslides are natural phenomena that occur frequently and have a significant impact. Landslides also occur in road construction, such as the landslide on the Toboli - Kebun Kopi road section. There are two methods of dealing with landslides, namely preventive methods and curative methods. Preventive method is a method used to prevent landslides, while curative method is a method used to handle landslides that have occurred. On the Toboli - Kebun Kopi road section, landslides have occurred, therefore the countermeasure uses curative methods, one of which is a cantilever type retaining wall. The purpose of this research is to obtain the stability value of slope structure, and predict whether deformation occurs after countermeasures are taken. Based on the results of the analysis, the structural stability value is bolster: 2.850 > 2 (safe), shear: 2.268 > 1.5 (safe) and soil bearing capacity: 106 > 3 (safe). And the stability of slope after being given countermeasures using the finite element method with help of the plaxis program on saturated slopes: 1.60 and unsaturated slopes: 1.90. After given countermeasures deformation occurs on saturated slopes by 3.59 cm and unsaturated by 3.42 cm.

Abstract

Motivation is a solution in increasing the morale of skilled workers in construction in order to maximize worker performance to achieve project goals. The aim of this research is to determine the variables Work Relations (X1), Work Environment (X2), Work Benefits (X3), and Worker Wages (X4) which influence Worker Performance (Y) by knowing the motivation variables and the results. The type of research used is quantitative research methods. The analysis technique used is SPSS. The population in the research is all workers from the Pakalu-Soddange Road Improvement Project, Maros Regency, totaling 31 people. From the percentage point analysis of all respondents, all Work Motivation Variables (X) are Work Relationship Variables (X1) with a percentage result of 49.0%, Work Environment Variables (X2) of 45.2%, Work Benefits Variables (X3) of 38 .7%, Worker Wage Variable (X4) with a percentage result of 64.3% has an effect on Worker Performance (Y). The variable that most dominantly influences work motivation on the performance of workers at the Pakalu-Soddange Road Improvement Project, Maros Regency is the Worker Wage Variable (X4) with a percentage result of 64.3%..

Abstract

Makassar City is experiencing the same struggle with other big cities, namely the problem of urban transportation. The level of vehicle movement in Makassar City is quite high as a result, causing congestion in the downtown area and in the suburbs. Water transportation media cannot be separated from the origin of the transportation system above, namely the activity in the river circulation area so that it has the potential to be developed, this study analyzes the river route as a water transportation network into Makassar City transportation. Increasing the use of water transportation routes to generate social activities and a form of transportation system used for the transportation of goods and passengers through water. The advantages of river or canal transportation means that it is cheap, easy, relatively safe, the carrying capacity can be high in sync using the culture of its use, simple technology. The main weakness comes from river transportation, which means slow movement and many areas that are not traversed by commercial shipping channels.

Abstract

The purpose of the study was to determine the nature and characteristics of the effect of variations in the number of collisions on the asphalt concrete mixture with repeated immersion and determine the amount by using emulsified asphalt of CRS type and 60/70 penetration oil asphalt. The independent variable in this study is the variation of the number of collisions in the compaction of asphalt concrete as much as 2x65, 2x75, and 2x85, with Optimum Asphalt Content of 7%. The test method refers to the General Specifications of Highways 2018.The type of mixture used is (Asphalt Concrete - Wearing Coarse). The performance was measured by testing Density, Stability, Flow, marsgall Quontient, voids in mixture (VIM), voids filled with asphalt (VFB), and voids in aggregate (VMA). The asphalt content used was 7%, then repeated immersion was carried out with variations of 3 days, 7 days, and 14 days of immersion. The results of the study show that variations in the number of collisions can affect the stability value where the higher the collision variation, the value of density, stability, marshall quotient, and the value of VFB increases with the addition of the number of collisions. While using asphalt oil and asphalt emulsion with repeated immersion variations, it can be seen that the value of density, stability, Marshall quotient, and VFB value decreased with each immersion variation. The values of flow, VIM, and VMA increased with each repeated immersion variation. this applies to any variation in the number of collisions.

Abstract

In today's infrastructure development, concrete is one of the most widely used structural materials in a construction as its basic material. To produce cement, factories produce waste gases and waste particles that can pollute the air. In this research, geopolymer concrete binder is a breakthrough to replace Portland cement binder. In this study, the added material used is HDPE plastic fiber. This research is an experiment conducted at the laboratory of concrete structures and materials at the University of Bosowa Makassar. The composition of the geopolymer concrete mixture obtained was fly ash (2.47kg), NaOH (0.56kg), Na2SiO3 (0.83kg), water (1.24kg), sand (3.60kg), crushed stone 0.5-1 (5.14kg). The HDPE plastic fibers used in this study were 5%, 10%, 15% and 20% by weight of fly ash. From the results of research using HDPE plastic fiber composition of 5%, 10% 15%, 20% respectively, the results obtained are 18,401 Mpa, 15,664 Mpa, 13,022 Mpa, 11,323 Mpa.

Abstract

A thin layer of asphalt concrete (lataston) is a cover layer which consist of a mixture of gap graded aggregate, filler and hard asphalt with certain ratio; which is mixed and compacted heat (within a certain minimum temperature of 124ºC), The purpose of the study is to determine the effect of addition of rubber patch on the Marshall characteristics of the hot asphalt mixture using the immersion duration method. The study uses waste rubber tires with the addition of 4%, 6%, and 8%. Samples of specimens were made as many as 48 samples, 15 normal samples, 6 remaining KAO samples and 27 variations samples. Treatment of the specimens was carried out with a duration of immersion of 7, 14 and 21 days. The manufacture of test objects is hot mixed and refers to the 2018 Bina Marga Specifications; the test was carried out with the Marshall tested equipment. The results of the test indicate that the effect of tire rubber waste as an additive in hot asphalt mixtures  with the immersion duration method can result in a decrease in the value of the asphalt mixture properties.

Abstract

In the world of construction, project management has an important role such as determining the budget planning and implementation time, its function is to find out how much budget is needed and how long it takes. In order to facilitate implementation in the field. In this study there are two methods used, namely the method based on the Regulation of the Minister of Public Works and Public Housing Number 28 of 2016 and the method based on the Regulation of the Minister of Public Works and Public Housing Number 1 of 2022. This study is a re-examination of the actual calculation using the method Regulation of the minister of public works and public housing number 28 of 2016. From the results of the comparison of the budget plan for the construction of the Faculty of Medicine, University of Bosowa Makassar, which has been made by PT. Seven Guardians of (Rp. 24.008.000.000) with a duration of work for 483 days and made by the author of Rp. 23. 511. 000 000. with a duration of work for 434 days.
