Abstract

The assets of Wirogunan village in Kartasura District in the form of 5 plots of land covering an area of 3.5 ha have not been utilized optimally, so it looks dirty with the growth of weeds and strewn with unmanaged rubbish. The Community service Team at Muhammadiyah University of Surakarta has agreed with BUMDes Wirogunan Village officials on the importance of planning the use of the village's assets with the main aim of being a Village Tourism Destination based on a study of the toponymy of the origin of the name Wirogunan. The potential and development plans are divided into 5 main areas (clusters), consisting of: cluster 1 (village government center area, meeting hall, culinary market and sports), cluster 2 (area of the historical grave of the Duke of Wiroguno and his spring), cluster 3 ( fruit garden, waste management and sports), cluster 4 (new Kartasura terminal supporting interconnection of tourist destinations), and cluster 5 (main road to the cemetery and interconnection terminal for tourist destinations). Assistance is provided regarding the potential for developing Web-based tourist destinations and their supporters and waste management as a requirement for Green Tourism. The results of assisting village officials understand the importance of a master plan for village tourism destinations connected to the Village Web and village waste management towards a Progressive Tourism Village.

Abstract

The diversity of traditional Tengger cuisine tends to remain a personal consumption choice among the local community. Tengger gastronomy, which includes various rice dishes, corn, glutinous rice, spices, and coffee, can be packaged as a unique Tengger culinary experience, serving both as a gastronomic tourism promotion and an effort to introduce Tengger cuisine. Besides being souvenirs, Tengger's traditional foods can be enjoyed while admiring the natural landscape and scenery of Tengger. However, the local community lacks awareness of the potential diversity of their cuisine, preventing them from utilizing it optimally. The main issues addressed in this community service program are: (i) the limited capacity of the partner community's human resources to develop concrete and functional programs supporting tourism villages; (ii) the lack of knowledge and skills among the Tengger community regarding the potential of Tengger gastronomy; (iii) the low appeal of Tengger’s processed food souvenirs due to inefficient and non-eco-friendly packaging; (iv) the large number of traditional Tengger foods, cakes, and beverages that have not yet obtained halal certification; (v) the lack of effective techniques and strategies for marketing Tengger’s traditional food products. The implementation methods for this program include:(i)  coordinating training schedules, locations, and related materials; (ii) conducting training in Tengger culinary processing; (iii) training in the packaging of Tengger’s processed foods; (iv) managing hygiene certification, intellectual property rights (IPR), and halal certification; (v) improving the marketing of Tengger cuisine through the Pujan Kasanga Festival and digital media. This program aims to empower the Tengger community by enabling them to utilize the resources around them, particularly in the field of gastronomy, to develop a creative economy.

Abstract

The Umbul Tlatar area is a water tourism destination with considerable potential. Its proximity to the city of Surakarta, good accessibility, and abundant surface water resources makes it an attractive site for bathing and water sports. However, the lack of a defined tourism concept and development planning, as well as the absence of an integrative approach, has resulted in the area appearing underdeveloped and poorly maintained. This has led to suboptimal tourist appeal, with fluctuating visitor numbers, particularly in the post-COVID-19 period (2023–2024). Therefore, there is a need for a strategic development plan to maximize the tourism potential of Umbul Tlatar, enabling it to compete with other tourist destinations in Boyolali Regency and the surrounding areas. The objective of study us to construct integrative tourism planning in Umbul Tlatar. The combination drone mapping and field observation was conducted to obtain the hidden potency of Umbul Tlatar. The results shows that the Umbbul Tlatar has several tourism attcraction that could be developed more such as Umbul Pengilon, National standar swimming pool, Etasia-Ecotourism, Tlatar Cullinary, Sumber Rejeki Fishing pond, and Karunia Outbound Centre. Those several tourism spots will be planned as integrated tourism area, thus at least can extend the tourist time to stay. To address this, a collaborative effort between the local government and community is required to develop an integrative tourism site plan that can increase visitor numbers to Umbul Tlatar.

Abstract

Climate change refers to long-term changes in global or regional weather patterns, which can involve changes in temperature, rainfall, wind speed, and other weather phenomena. This research aims first to analyze tourists' perceptions of climate change and its impact on the tourist attraction of Tanjung Benoa, second to determine the influence of climate change on tourists' interest in visiting Tanjung Benoa, third to identify factors that influence tourists' decisions in choosing tourist destinations amidst the issue of climate change. Using qualitative methods, data was collected through a survey of 50 domestic tourist respondents. The research results show that most tourists are aware of the impact of climate change on the ecosystem and natural beauty of Tanjung Benoa, although there are still those who do not understand this issue. Tourist interest in visiting again is quite high, especially in the 25-29 year age group. However, climate change such as coastal erosion, rising sea levels and damage to coral reefs could threaten the region's tourist attraction. It is hoped that this research can become the basis for developing resilient and environmentally friendly tourism in Tanjung Benoa.

Abstract

The increase in the number of tourist attractions from year to year is increasingly irregular, so the need for supporting facilities also increases. As a result, the Seminyak Village Community built tourism support facilities such as hotels and villas in a spatial plan that was not intended for them. Another factor in the inappropriate use of tourism space is people's ignorance regarding spatial planning. The Badung Regency Government has not yet carried out socialization regarding spatial planning to the village or sub-district level. The aim of this research is to analyze the use of tourism space in Seminyak Village and provide recommendations for the suitability of space use. The results of this research are that there is a mismatch in the use of tourism space in Seminyak Village which is intended for the construction of hotels and villas

Abstract

Background: Mobile applications are now a solution to the challenges of monitoring children's growth and development, helping in understanding the emotional and behavioural aspects of children. However, a mobile application-based questionnaire management system for physiotherapy is still not available, therefore, the development of the "ASQ: SE-3" application is needed. This application is expected to help physiotherapy students screen children's growth and development and identify problems early. Methodology: The community service carried out by the service team was carried out through several stages, namely the observation stage, to the evaluation stage using the function test technique with an assessment in descriptive form. This technique is carried out to determine whether there is a difference between the product and its function so that an evaluation can be made. The population of this community service is physiotherapy students of Universitas Muhammadiyah Surakarta. Results: In the evaluation results provided by the student service team revealed that the ASQ: SE-3 Application is good enough, maybe a little more promoted so that the tool can be known by many people and is useful in addition to physiotherapy teaching materials. Conclusion: The ASQ:SE-3 application proved to be useful as a tool to monitor children's growth and development as an innovative physiotherapy teaching material. However, challenges faced in its use include the possibility of technical errors and limited features that need to be improved to make it easier to use.
