Abstract

This study aims to analyze Al-Madzhab Al-Kalami and Husn At-Ta'lil in Surah Al-Qiyamah and Az-Zariyat, as part of the study of the beauty of the Qur'anic language in the science of balaghah. The method used is a qualitative approach with literature studies, in order to ensure the validity of the data and produce findings that can be a reference in further studies. The research findings show that in Surah Al-Qiyamah, Al-Madzhab Al-Kalami appears mostly in the form of claims preceded by more than two muqaddimah (premises), to strengthen the delivery of the truth message contained therein. Whereas in Surah Az-Zariyat, Husn At-Ta'lil is used by giving beautiful and clear reasons to emphasize the meaning and direct the reader to a deep reflection on the greatness of Allah. These two forms show the uniqueness of the Qur'anic language structure that not only conveys meaning, but also builds logical arguments and language aesthetics in harmony.

Abstract

In human life, language is a system of arbitrary sound symbols used by humans to communicate with each other. As a system, language has systematic (ruled) and systematic (subsystem) properties. One of its subsystems is phonology. Phonology is a branch of linguistics that explains issues about language sounds spoken through the vocal tract. The sounds of language spoken can produce thousands of meaningful words. Thus, from a series of words that are arranged, sentences can be produced so that they become complex languages. Phonology explains language sounds in general and functionally. Phonemes can be described as the smallest language units, meaning that phoneme units have a function to distinguish the meaning of language. Before learning how to structure a language and its meaning, you must first know the sounds of the language in it. In learning Arabic, the first thing that must be known is the sound of the language. Therefore, phonology has an important role in learning and mastering language.

Abstract

Translation is the process of translating the meaning of text from the source language to the target language through certain stages, procedures and theories. A translator needs to have understanding, skills and strategies to avoid mistakes. This research aims to explain in detail the two translation procedures, namely the transfer procedure and the naturalization procedure. The method used is literature study, with data sources from related journals, articles and books. The transfer procedure involves transferring the source language to the target language phonetically, phonologically, graphically, as well as transliteration, which moves the alphabet from one system to another. Meanwhile, the naturalization procedure maintains words or expressions from the source text by adapting the spelling and rules of the target language, which is also known as adaptation. In conclusion, translation can use transfer or naturalization procedures, depending on the need to maintain the meaning and structure of the source language.

Abstract

The study of language has a significant impact on human existence. Like two sides of a coin, language and life are inextricably linked phenomena. Words are a system of arbitrary sound symbols that people use to talk to one another. Language is a system with both systemic (subsystem) and systematic (methodical) properties. Phonology is one of the subsystems. One of the branches or levels of linguistics that covers all things relating to sounds is phonology. Words There are two categories for this language's sounds: phonetics and phonemic. As a subfield of phonology, phonetics examines related language sounds that do not alter meaning, whereas phonemes examine language sounds that do This essay aims to investigate Arabic phonology, namely the phoneme component. For Arabic language learners, the first thing they need to acquire is the language's sound. As a result, studying phonology is crucial for language acquisition and proficiency (foreign language). As a result, it becomes crucial to comprehend phonological research, or al-Aswa>t, in order to gain a thorough comprehension of Arabic language sounds, each of which naturally has a unique meaning.

Abstract

This study discusses the phonological transformation in Arabic through a study of the rule of i'lâl - a process of phonetic change that occurs on the letters of illat (alif, wau, and ya') - in a historical perspective, by highlighting the contribution of Al-Khalil bin Ahmad al-Farahidi's thought. This study uses a qualitative approach with a literature study method, which aims to classify and analyze the types of i'lâl as described in the framework of shorof science (Arabic morphology). The results show that i'lâl has three main forms, namely ibdāl (replacement), ḥadhf (omission), and taskīn (harmonization), all of which are arranged to ease pronunciation and maintain harmony between sound and word structure. Al-Khalil bin Ahmad al-Farahidi is seen as the main figure in the early formulation of i'lâl theory, where his ideas not only provide a scientific foundation in morphological studies, but also show his accuracy in considering practical phonetic aspects in Arabic. Thus, this study emphasizes the importance of integration between phonology and morphology in understanding the dynamics of word formation, as well as the relevance of classical scientific heritage in the context of modern linguistics.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the forms of the wazan fi’il in the Arabic poem entitled “دعاء” by Jalaluddin Rumi using a semantic approach. Jalaluddin Rumi is known as a great Sufi figure whose poems are rich in spiritual meaning, symbolism, and inner expressions. One of the linguistic elements that strengthens this meaning is the use of the form of fi’il (verb) which has a certain pattern or wazan in Arabic. This study uses a qualitative method of library research, by analyzing each verse of the poem morphosemantically, namely by looking at the relationship between the verb pattern and the meaning produced. The primary data comes from the text of the poem, while secondary data is obtained from Arabic linguistic references, sharaf science, and Sufism literature. The results of the analysis show that Rumi's choice of wazan form is very strategic and full of meaning, such as the use of wazan أفعل، تفعّل، فاعل، انفعل which indicates the meaning of movement, will, transformation of the soul, and surrender. Each fi'il in this poem does not stand alone, but forms a deep spiritual narrative. This study confirms that the analysis of wazan fi'il can be an important tool in understanding the inner message and linguistic aesthetics of Sufi poetry. This broadens the scope of Arabic literary studies from only thematic studies to a deeper structural-semantic analysis.

Abstract

This journal discusses the process of translating a classic Arabic fable story entitled Al-Asadu Wal Fa’ru (The Lion and the Mouse) into Indonesian. This story is a type of narrative fiction that contains moral values with animal characters that represent human nature and behavior. This study aims to identify and analyze the methods, approaches, processes, and techniques used in translating the text. The focus of the analysis is directed at the entire content of the story to understand how moral messages and narrative structures in the source language can be effectively transferred into the target language without losing meaning and cultural nuances. The results of the study show that the translation method applied in this text is a communicative method, which attempts to convey messages clearly and easily understood by the target reader. The most dominant technique used is the common equivalence technique, which prioritizes the use of equivalent words or expressions that are often used in Indonesian. In terms of ideological approach, this translation tends to use a domestication approach, namely adjusting elements of foreign culture so that they feel familiar and acceptable to local readers. Thus, it is hoped that this research can provide a useful contribution in the application of translation theories, especially in translating classical Arabic literary narrative texts, as well as increasing understanding in developing translator competence in the fields of Arabic literature and language.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the ijazi kalam from the science of balaghah found in the Qur'an, Surah Al-Baqarah, verse three. This verse mentions the characteristics of believers and taqwa people who make the Qur'an their guide in life, namely believing in the unseen, performing prayers, and paying or giving zakat to those who are entitled to receive it.  The research method in this article is a descriptive qualitative approach with a literature review as the data and information collection method. The data sources are the Qur'an, Qur'anic exegesis, and previous articles. Ijazi is a short expression that contains a broad meaning.  The research results indicate that there is an ijazi statement in Surah Al-Baqarah verse three, specifically in the phrase  يؤمنون بالغ. Based on the analysis of the ijazi statement, the meaning of  يؤمنون بالغيب is to believe in the unseen, which means believing in Allah, believing in the Prophet Muhammad, and the teachings of Islam.
