Abstract

This study aims to identify and analyze the use of al-kinayah (figurative expressions) in Surah Al-Zalzalah and to reveal its aesthetic value and semantic function in conveying eschatological messages. The method used is qualitative research with a balaghah analysis approach (Arabic rhetoric) that focuses on the aspect of al-bayan, especially al-kinayah. Data collection was carried out through literature studies and content analysis of the text of Surah Al-Zalzalah. The results of the study show that there are five forms of al-kinayah in this surah that have different semantic functions, namely: (1) al-kinayah about the shaking of the earth as a sign of the apocalypse, (2) al-kinayah about the earth releasing its burdens, (3) al-kinayah about human confusion, (4) al-kinayah about humans in various conditions, and (5) al-kinayah about actions as small as particles. This study concludes that the use of al-kinayah in Surah Al-Zalzalah plays an important role in increasing the effectiveness of message delivery and textual aesthetic value.

Abstract

Indonesia is a country with religious diversity, so the issue of religious tolerance is very important to maintain social harmony. One of the verses of the Qur'an that is often used as a basis for understanding tolerance is Surah Al-Kafirun verse 6, "Lakum diinukum waliyadin." This verse contains the concept of al-qashar from the perspective of balaga studies, namely the concept of affirming differences in beliefs without coercion and hostility. This study aims to examine the public's understanding of the meaning of Al-qashar in the verse and its relationship to the attitude of religious tolerance in Indonesia. The methodology used is descriptive qualitative, with data collection techniques in the form of literature studies and semi-structured interviews with religious leaders and the Muslim community. The survey found that most respondents understood the verse as an expression of recognition of religious differences, not a justification for inter-religious conflict. The meaning of Al-Qasr is actually understood as an ideological prohibition that encourages peaceful coexistence. Therefore, a contextual understanding of Surah Al-Kafirun verse 6 plays a role in strengthening the attitude of religious tolerance, especially in the pluralistic Indonesian society. This study recommends strengthening thematic interpretive literacy in religious education to expand moderate and comprehensive understanding.

Abstract

This paper aims to analyze the concept of equality (al-musawah) in the Qur'an, specifically as contained in Surah Al-Baqarah verse 110. The verse emphasizes the urgency of prayer as an individual form of worship and zakat as a social form of worship—both of which complement each other in shaping the personality of a Muslim. This verse also reflects the principle of equality in the reward of good deeds, which is not influenced by one’s social status, gender, or background. Prayer is one of the obligatory commands in Islamic law that must be performed by every Muslim regardless of their condition. Prayer serves as a moral safeguard for every element of society to avoid disgraceful acts, including corruption. This study employs a descriptive qualitative method with a library research approach. Data collection was conducted by identifying and reconstructing references from various sources such as books, Qur'anic exegesis, journals, and previous studies. The findings of this article reveal the following: first, the concept of al-musawah is embedded in QS. Al-Baqarah verse 110; second, prayer is a divine command in the Qur’an that holds urgency for every Muslim; and third, the urgency of prayer can contribute to the reformulation of a civilized society that is resistant to corruption.

Abstract

This study examines semantic challenges in translation with an emphasis on problems related to ʿIlm al-Dilalah (the science of meaning). The method used is qualitative descriptive with a case study design, data collected from observations, interviews, and documents in the form of books, journals, and scientific papers on translation studies and semantic theory. Mukhtar Umar's views were highlighted, emphasizing that the core of the translation problem is the difficulty of choosing the right semantic equivalent. The findings suggest that the main problem lies in translator limitations in finding accurate and contextual equivalents of meanings. The problems that occur are differences in semantic range, contextual distribution, use of majas, partial classification differences, politeness and taboo terms in conversation. This research emphasizes the importance of deep semantic mastery for translators. This approach makes a significant contribution to the theoretical and practical aspects of translation.

Abstract

This study aims to describe the use of the Arabic language in conveying Islamic da'wah through social media in the rapidly evolving digital era. Arabic, as the language of the Qur'an and Hadith, plays a central role in the structure of Islamic teachings and religious communication. Alongside the transformation of da'wah media from conventional platforms to digital ones, there arises a need to adapt Islamic messages to digital formats, including language use. Social media offers an expansive interactive space that can reach cross-generational audiences. In this context, Arabic serves not only as a symbol of religiosity but also as a strategic component in reinforcing the authority of da'wah messages. This research employs a qualitative descriptive method, utilizing literature studies and observations of Arabic-language digital da'wah content. The findings indicate that using Arabic on social media enhances the credibility and attractiveness of da'wah content when presented creatively, adaptively, and contextually. Moreover, Arabic language usage reflects a strong Islamic identity and creates emotional connections with religiously inclined audiences. The study recommends equipping digital preachers with training to master Arabic functionally and communicatively while ensuring a socially relevant and user-friendly digital approach.

Using the descriptive content analysis method combined with Focus Group Discussion (FGD), this study analyzes the use of the letter "أن" and its role in forming the mashdar mu'awwal in Surah Al-A'raf. The results show that the sign of i'rab rafa' alif is not only a grammatical marker in ism mutsanna, but can also be interpreted as a symbol of spiritual improvement, recognition of effort, and encouragement towards a more meaningful life.
