Abstract

This article discusses the search patterns for students in the Islamic Center Islamic Boarding School library. The aim of this research is to find out how students search for information in the Islamic boarding school environment and what obstacles they face when looking for information. The research method in this research is descriptive qualitative, namely research that aims to understand the phenomena experienced by research subjects, for example behavior, perceptions, motivation, actions, and so on. Furthermore, the data collection methods used were interviews, observation and documentation. In this research, the informants were 6 students of the Medan Islamic Center Islamic Boarding School who were in grade 12 and who had outstanding achievements. The research results show that Islamic Center Islamic Boarding School students carry out an information search process through six stages, namely, initiation, selection, exploration, formulation, collection and presentation. And write down the information you have read in a notebook. The next obstacle for students in searching for information is the lack of information search tools.

Abstract

This research discusses the strategies carried out by the Medan district court office library in increasing the availability of their collections in order to realize their vision and mission which includes fostering, developing and maintaining library materials in the special library. This research uses a descriptive qualitative method by describing, describing and describing the data and then analyzing the research results obtained from the field. The purpose of this research is to determine the strategy of special libraries in the Medan district court library in their efforts to increase the availability of collections that can be utilized by users. There were 3 informants in the research, consisting of administrative staff and the finance department who were also responsible for library management, then library management staff and library guards. The results of the research show that the library managers who manage the special library at the Medan district court office are not those from the library science department, causing a lack of special and in-depth attention to the library collections in the library. Even so, the strategy they use to increase the availability of collections is to maximize the budget as best as possible by adding collections related to law and also adding several collections other than that, such as collections of history books and biographies.

Abstract

The purpose of writing this article is to understand the concept of marketing library services in the era of digital technology. Marketing, in general, is closely related to real products and is profit oriented. Marketing is not limited to the business world, but is also important for non-profit oriented institutions, agencies or organizations, including libraries. Marketing in libraries does not market goods products, but library service products for the benefit of library users. In order for the library to be optimal in its services for library users, it needs certain tips related to marketing library services. Abstract

This article is entitled Democratic Leadership in Improving the Performance of Library Staff at the Tembilahan Riau Regional Library and Archives Service, which aims to find out what forms of democratic leadership are applied by library heads to improve staff performance in regional libraries. This article uses descriptive qualitative methods with surveys and interviews as data collection techniques. The results show that the leader includes staff in planning related to librarianship, the leader directs and motivates staff to improve performance, the leader supports professional development and training of librarians to improve staff professionalism, the leader has an open attitude towards staff and is communicative to subordinates and provides supervision. to staff.

Abstract

(Objectives) This study aims to determine the role of knowledge management in improving the competence of a librarian. Abstract

The purpose of this study is to identify and explain the urgency of archivists as professionals who manage archives based on automation. The type of research used is qualitative research which is a literature study using books and other literatures as the main object of this research. In library research, the method used to collect research data is in the form of library data that has been selected, searched, presented and analyzed so that the data presented is in the form of words that are processed to be concise and systematic. The data analysis technique used is a content analysis technique which is a scientific analysis of the essence of a data. The results obtained through this research are that as professional staff, archivists have a very important urgency in automation-based archive management because without competent archivists, automation-based archive management will not be able to run properly. The benefit of carrying out this research is that each agency can further improve the quality of archive management through an automation system with managers who are truly experts in their fields or professional archivists, both archivists who are graduates from universities and archivists who have attended various training/training so that the quality of archive management in These agencies are increasing.

Abstract

Nowadays, library services are very diverse compared to some of the past. Information Technology gives new meaning to the services provided by libraries. There are several libraries that support and expect library users to be satisfied with the services provided by librarians. The background of this research is to see how the Optimization of Library Services to Increase Reading Interest in Library Users in the Padang Panjang City Library, optimizing this service is carried out by carrying out activities that can attract the attention of the visitors to reading interest. Not only that, librarians must also be able to discuss how to allow visitors to visit the library of the City of Padang Panjang. This research is a qualitative research with descriptive type. Data collection is done by means of observation, interviews, and documentation studies conducted using analytical techniques developed by Miles and Huberman. The results of this study indicate that researchers found several ways to optimize library services to increase interest in reading (1) library management that is more professional, (2) library development with adequate facilities, (3) increase activities to attract reading interest..

Abstract

In practice, Customer Relationship Management can use various types of media, including digital media. Digital media is considered effective because society in this modern era cannot be separated from the influence of technology. The use of technology in Customer Relationship Management can be done in various ways, one of which is through social media networks. Social media itself is a network that connects accounts within it, these accounts can represent individuals or groups of individuals, gathered either in organizations or institutions. This research uses the SLR method and collects 10 journals from 1100 journals found in the publish n perish application. This research results that Instagram, CRM and promotions are closely related to attracting museum visitors to return to visit the museum.

Abstract

This research is aimed to recognize hos knowledge sharing is applied through facebook in a KMP. The method used in this research is qualitative method with case study approach. The data collection technique is done through observation, indepth-interview and study of documentation. The informant is choosed by the purposive sampling technique. The result of this research shows that knowledge sharing applied through facebook in the librarian creative class based on the theory of Nonaka and Takeuchi involves the process of socialization, externalization, combination and internalization. The process of socialization done in the KMP community is recognized by the existence of incidental meeting activity and sharing activity infacebook group. Generally, the process of externalization done in the KMP community can be seen when someone is in charged of writing the result of documentations in the KMP. They are soft copy, hard copy,and also pictures from the meeting. The process of combination done by the KMP community is to deliver the result ofdocumentation in the facebook group. The combination of knowledge resulted from the sharing session is combined with the knowledge resulted from the meeting, then it is combined again with the knowledge resulted from the internet or journals. The process of internalization done in the community of KMP is to apply and share the knowledge they have from their learning and experience to the others.

Abstract

Librarian is a profession that is less considered important when compared to other professions. Along with the developing technology librarians face challenges by being able to compete in the globalization era. In facing the challenges of the globalization era, librarians are required to have competence and certification and librarians must have new innovations in order to take advantage of opportunities by using information technology. In this study using the literature study method in journals that discuss the "Opportunities and Challenges of Librarians" and supplemented with previous studies. The purpose of this study is to find out what are the opportunities and challenges faced by librarians in the globalization era. At present the creation of an information society is one of the factors of information globalization which has the characteristics of information being the main strategic weapon. This is certainly a challenge for librarians in serving users, information selection must be done first. The results of this study are in facing the challenges of the globalization era, librarians must have competence and certification, think creatively, innovatively and intelligently equipped with academic knowledge and be able to master the international language in order to be able to play a role in world class librarian forum activities.
