Abstract

The research aims were to identify the biophysical condition of agroforestry land in Salua Village, to analyze the socio-economic and community institution condition in Salua Village, and to analyze the sustainability of agroforestry system perceived from the aspects of land biophysical condition, socio-economic and community institution condition in Salua Village. This research was an explorative-descriptive study done through survey method. Data collected was by interviewing respondents and by direct observation and measurement in the field. The number of respondents was 30 people included village government officer, members of traditional institutions and farmer groups who live in Salua village. The tool of analysis consisted of vegetation analysis, soil analysis, socio-economic analysis, institutional analysis and sustainability analysis using Likert scale of 1,3 and 5. The soil analysis indicated that soil nutrient contents were still very good for supporting plant growth. The socio-economic condition was dependent upon land tenure, profit-sharing system, and area size of tilled land and plant types. Increasing production is strongly needed by the farmers. The four dimension aggregate index showed that the average value was 50% for the socio-economic dimension, 66.7% for the ecology, 60%for the production and 100% for the institution. Based on the analysis on vegetation, socio-economy, institution and sustainability using Likert scale, it can be concluded that the condition of agroforestry land in Salua village tend to be sustained.

Abstract

The characters of students can be developed through a learning process integrated to the subjects of chemistry on the distinctiveness of carbon atoms with stimulus on the achievement of learning outcomes in cognitive, affective, and psychomotor aspects through cooperative method of STAD (Student Teams Achievement Division) type. This study analysed and described: (1) effect of learning the distinctiveness of carbon atoms charged characters to develop characters of students at SMK Negeri 1 Tolitoli; (2) effect of learning the distinctiveness of carbon atoms charged characters to the learning outcomes of students at SMK Negeri 1 Tolitoli; (3) effect of characters to the learning outcomes on learning the distinctiveness of carbon atoms at SMK Negeri 1 Tolitoli. This study used a quasi-experimental method. The samples was whole classes of X CEN (Computer Engineering and Networks) consisting of class X CEN1 with 32 students as an experimental group, and class X CEN2 with 34 students as a control group, which were determined by purposive random sampling technique. The data were collected using questionnaires, tests, interviews and observation sheets. The data were analysed using t-test with the significance level α= 0.05. The results showed that (1) learning the distinctiveness of carbon atom charged characters affected to develop characters of students at SMK Negeri 1 Tolitoli showed by significance value (0,000) < α (0,05); (2) learning the distinctiveness of carbon atom charged characters affected to the learning outcomes of students at SMK Negeri 1 Tolitoli showed by significance value (0,000) < α (0,05); and (3) the characters affected to the learning outcomes on learning the distinctiveness of carbon atoms at SMK Negeri 1 Tolitoli showed by significance value (0,005) < α (0,05).

Abstract

The research aims at developing the Physics subject Instructional packages of year X semester I SMAN 5 Palu by Plomp model. The research employed Research Development Desain. The instructional package drafis that have been previously developed validated by a content expert, a design expert, and a media expert. The revised version of the packages were tried out info three defferent subject indimall group and big group which contained 30 student and 1 teacher. Questionnaire designed in 1 to 5 scale was used as the instrument of data collection. Suggestion, input and coment during consultation period were also noted and used to compliment the collected data from the questionnaire. The results of the data analysis show that 1) the instructional materials product score ranges from 75.38% to 96.84%, indicating that the instructional material is Good and Very Good qualifying , 2) The teacher’s book product score ranges with the average of 80% indicating that the teacher’s book product is Good qualifying , and 3) The s student’s book product score ranges from 80% to 96% indicating that the student’s book product is Good and Very Good qualifying. Based on product feasibility assessment table, that if the cumulative result of the calculation to the development of products derived reach the criteria above a value of 75%, the products developed are considered valid and reliable for use. The effectiveness of the instructional materials obtained by t-test which was tcounted(2,675) , t table(0,05:58)(1,675). It implies that the instructional packages have been valid and ready to be used.

Abstract

The growth of explant in culture media is affected by a number of factors, including the strength of basal media and the concentration of plant growth regulators added into culture media. Experiments were conducted in two steps; the aim of the first experiment was to obtain a suitable strength of MS medium for the growth of onion seeds and the aim of the second experiment was to obtain an appropriate BAP concentration for each strength of MS medium for the growth of seed derived onion shoots. The first experiment was designed in Completely Randomized Design (CRD) with one factor, with treatment tested namely the strength of MS medium in two levels, eg. a half strength of MS medium and full strength of MS medium. The second experiment was also designed in CRD with factorial pattern; treatments tested were the strength of MS medium as the first factor consisted of two levels, namely a half strength of MS medium and full strength of MS medium; and the concentration of BAP as the second factor which consisted of four levels, namely 1 mg/l, 2 mg/l, 3 mg/l and 4 mg/l BAP. Results of these experiments showed that a half strength of MS medium was suitable for the growth of onion seeds which was indicated by the percentage of seed germination upto 100% and the formation of leaves tended to be more intensive. Culture medium supplemented with 4 mg/l BAP was appropriate for the growth of seed derived onion shoots which was reflected by the formation of intensive leaves and roots, in average 2.58 leaves per exsplant and 8.75 root hairs per exsplant, respectively.

Abstract

Production of fresh fish that is high enough requires good handling technology for fish susceptible to the decay process. Handling fresh fish is still unfavorable in terms of security, including the process of handling the fish after rigor mortis, especially when viewed from the aspect of sanitation and hygiene. Consequently fish up into the hands of the seller before the consumers, had been contaminated by chemical contaminants, physical, and microbiological. The study aims to identify Escherichia coli bacterial contamination on fish float (Decapterus russelli) in various markets Palu. Research using descriptive analysis with Total Plate Count testing and identification of the bacterium Escherichia coli. The result of the identification of Escherichia coli bacteria in three markets in the city of Palu showed that all positive fish are Escherichia coli, where the Presidential Market with the number 210 APM / g, Market Masomba the amount of 3.0 APM / g, and 27 APM / g and Markets parents of 35 APM / g. Based on the results of testing of Escherichia coli showed that fish float in three different markets in the city of Palu have exceeded the maximum contaminant ISO 7388-2009 bacterium Escherichia coli on fresh fish that is <3 / g.

Abstract

The major problem of this research was that any students had under school minimum standard of mastery learning on their daily exam of Science concepts. The school minimum standard of mastery learning was 75%. Therefore, experimental research was conducted with the aim of implementation of learning method through skills process to improve learning outcomes of Science on students class IV at SDN Model Terpadu Madani Palu. Learning was focused on the integrated thematic learning through scientific approach and authentic assessment recommended by Curriculum 2013. The instruments were learning plans including learning scenarios, teacher and student activities observation sheets, and pretest and posttest. Results of the data analysis showed that learning by inquiry method through skills process improved an average posttest score to 6.15, while the learning mastery reached up 24.24%. The authentic assessment as the characteristic of scientific assessment on integrated science had an average attitude 3.30 (start developing) with the percentage average 82.72%. Teacher activities implemented reached an average 4.95 with the percentage average implemented 99.16% or very good implementation, and activities of 24 students implemented reached an average 4.69 with the percentage average implemented 93.89% or very good implementation. It can be concluded that the application of inquiry learning model through skills process improved the learning outcomes of Science through integrated thematic and authentic assessment approaches.

Abstract

The purpose of this research was to determine the effect of scionsstored under various time periods on side-cleft grafting results at cacao plant. The research used a Randomized Block design in which five storage period treatments were applied including no period of storage (control), 3 d, 6 d, 9 d, and 12 d storage periodsafter scion cutting time. Each treatment was replicated five times resulting in 25 experimental units. Variables observed were the percentage of living graftings, number of buds, length of buds and total leaf number of scions. The research results showed that under 9 d and 12 d storage periods after scion cutting time, the percentage of living graftings was 53.59% and 36.41%, respectively, while much higher percentage were found in the control, 3 d, and 6 d treatments which were 79.38%, 79.38% and 70.78%, respectively. The control, 3 d and 6 d storage period treatments were significantly affected the percentage of living scion and bud length at 30 d and 45 d after grafting. Scions can be stored up to 6 d after cutting which support a well growth of side-cleft grafting cacao.

Abstract

The research entitled “An ethnomedicinal study of medicinal plants used against gastrointestinal complaints by Kaili Ledo Ethnic in central Sulawesi, Indonesia was undertaken from May 2019 to March 2020. The research site was located in Raranggonau, an oldest subvillage of Kailinese Ledo aimed to conserve the ethnomedicinal knowledge of Kaili Ledo ethnic in using plants for healing gastrointestinal complaints and to select candidate medicinal plants for further phytochemical and pharmacological investigation. The data indigenous knowledge of medicinal plant has been collected by using in-depth interview with prior informed consent using an open-ended questionaire. A snowball technique was performed to obtain a appropriate respondents. Descriptive statistical method was employed to analyse and summarize the ethnobotanical data on the reported medicinal plants and associated knowledge. The result showed that there were 25 plants belonging to 16 families were found to be used against gastrointestinal complaints in the studied area. Most dominant family used against gastrointestinal complaints was Lamiaceae (3 plants), followed by Poaceae, Fabaceae, Euphorbiaceae and Asteraceae (2 plants each). Solanaceae, Asparaginaceae, Araucariaceae, Rosaceae, Rubiaceae, Musaceae, Melastomataceae, Caricaceae, Basellaceae and Balsaminaceae (1 plant each).

Abstract

The main problem on this research is the low activity and learning output on the year six students elementary school (SD) Inpres 1 Tondo. Therefore, based on this problem, classroom action research has been done. The aim of this research is to implement the cooperative learning model of group investigation type. The studying focused on the main material about less energy which taught on semester II based on the program at that school. The instrument which used was lesson plans, scenario of teaching, sheets of observation activity for student and teacher, and final test at the action of cycle 2. For the results of learning output on cognitive at the pre-action average score was 65,9 the classical understanding was 65,9 and the classical completed was 52,5%. On cycle I, the average learning output score was 68,7, the classical understanding was 65,9, and 65,9% of classical understanding. On cycle II, the average csore was 88,30, and the classical completed was 87,5%. In cycle I, affective score was average 3,2 (begin to develope), in cycle II, it was 3,55 (habit). Psychomotorscore was average 3,2 (begin to develop) in cycle I and it was 3,8 (habit) in cycle II. To achieve the criterion of classical completed was influenced by the optimum of teacher and student actifity during the learning process using group investigation.

Abstract

Mathematics errors give great effects in physics problem solving, thus the using of mathematics in physics is indispensable because both of them are structured knowledge. The objective of this research is to describe mathematics concepts errors of undergraduate students of Physics education study program on kinematics concepts using vector analysis. Data were gained from students’ answer sheets and Thinking-Aloud recording. The errors of mathematic concepts and procedures were analysed using Kastolan, then elaborated how students use mathematics in physics problem solving. This research was conducted at Teacher Training and Education Faculty of Tadulako University and research’ subjects were 5 undergraduate students of Physics education study program which were chosen by purposive sampling methods based on their basic physics subject mark. The results show that mathematics has crucial role for students in physics problem solving. Percentage of students’ mathematics errors in integral concepts is 50%, differential concepts is 20%, distributive of mathematics is 20%, whereas mathematics procedures errors embody 50% of integral operation errors, 20% of differential errors, 80% of exponent differential errors and trigonometry, 60% of fraction operation and 20% of calculation operation. These results indicate the lack of respondents’ mathematics concepts understanding specially in exponent differential and trigonometry concepts and enact the unit vectors.
