Abstract

This research is qualitative used descriptive method for analyzing the use of formal mathematics reasoning in solving physics problems. Subjects of the research were nine students of SMA Al-Azhar Palu which consisted of three categories in ability, i.e: high, moderate and low category. Research instruments consisted of respondent test selection and interview protocol. Data collection was carried out through recording (by handycame) on thinking-aloud and interview activities. based on data analysis, it could be stated that obtained formal mathematics reasoning includes completeness and repetition in reasoning. It is needed development of learning that considers the important of the use formal mathematics reasoning as framework for evaluating a progress of student’s problem solving.

Abstract

This research was conducted in the area of ​​JOB Pertamina Medco E & P Tomori Sulawesi is located in the village Paisubuloli districts Batui South Banggai district, Central Sulawesi from January to March 2016. This study is explorative, as it aims to delve extensively on matters that affect the events leading water pollution. It is necessary for the analysis of parameters, such as temperature, turbidity, TSS, salinity, DO, BOD, DHL, metal-logan weight and identification of mangrove vegetation and wildlife. The results showed that temperature, TSS and pH on the fifth point monitoring sites are still in the specified quality standards. BOD value on the first point (3.94 mg/l) and a second point (4.581 mg /l) is below the quality standard that is 3 mg /l. Iron (Fe) on the first point (1.1362 mg/l) and the third point (1.3102 mg/l) showing values ​​above 1 mg / L. Boron (B) at a third point (2.922 mg/l), the fourth point (6.0138 mg/l), and the fifth point (5.9672 mg/l) indicates a value above the quality standard which is 1 mg/l, while for metals -Metal weight indicates the value that is still within the limits of the quality standards set out in Regulation No. 82 of 2011 on Control and Water Pollution. At the location of Research show Rhizophora spp the vegetation predominant located around the CPP and the existence of mangrove vegetation and fauna in the area of ​​field CPP showed that no different with the presence before their construction field development CPP even though possibly only on the composition of mangrove vegetation and fauna is reduced than before.

Abstract

The objectives of the research are 1) to test the significant difference creative thinking between the students who were taught by using Mind Map Method and they who were taught by using Conventional Method on object change around us; and 2) to test the significant difference of communication ability of the students who were taught by using mind map method and those who were taught by using conventional method on object change around us. The design of the research is Quasi Experimental research design in which it employs purposive sampling design. The sample of the study is the grade VII C consisting of 32 students and the grade VII D consisting of 33 students of the 2014/2015 academic year. The data were collected by using observation check-list and test. The researcher analyzes data by using SPSS program. The result of the study indicates that the score t count> t table (3,50 > 1,998) and sig = 0,001 (0,001 < 0,05); it is found that there is the difference of thinking ability between the students who were taught by using creative thinking skill method and conventional method. Meanwhile, it is found that the result of the posttest on students’ communication skill so t count> t table (3,14 > 1,998) and sig = 0,003 (0,003 < 0,05). It is indicates that there is the difference in communication ability between the students who were taught by using mind map method and the students who were taught by using conventional method. Based on the result of study, it is stated that there is an effect of mind map method toward students’ creative thinking skill and students’ physics communication ability at grade VII student at SMP Negeri 1 Biromaru.

Abstract

The objective of this research was to know the influence and the relationship among teachers’ professional competence to students learning activity, the ease of understanding learning material and students learning outcomes on IPA subject at SMP Rayon II Sigi Regency. This research was a formal research which found out the relationship among the influence of students learning activities Y1, the ease of understanding learning materials Y2 and student learning outcomes Y3 in IPA subject. To measure the teachers professional competence (X) is obtained by using the observation sheet that contained the teachers assessment activities, variable Y1 obtained by observations on the implementation process of learning in the classroom, variable Y2 about the ease of understanding the learning materials obtained by questionnaire and variable Y3 on student learning outcomes obtained of the results of tests conducted by each teacher that being a sample in this study. The results indicated that the teachers’ professional competence had very real influence on students' learning activities and ease of understanding learning material but not real on student learning outcomes. In conclusion, teachers’ professional competence is a matter that needs to be developed by teachers with special autonomy so that they had more professional responsibility. Achievement of the average value of the percentage of the activity of 27 teachers with students as much as in 1080 reached 76.85% or in the good criteria according to the size specified by Depdiknas (2004).

Abstract

This study describes the metacognition behavior of students on problem solving in degree of acidity calculation. This research was conducted at SMAN 1 Pamona Utara and at SMA GKST 2 Pamona Puselemba. Research subjects were 6 students of class XII IPA determined based on the respondents test selection into high, middle and low categories. This study is a qualitative research. Research data were as test results, thinking-aloud transcripts, and interviews as well as the results of the inventory questionnaire metacognition activity. The data were described and tested using the triangulation method. Results of thinking-aloud data analysis showed that the high and the middle categories were able to assess the mistakes. The high category tend to monitor mistakes while making calculations. The middle category emphasized on parts of calculations to avoid mistakes and justify the calculations and the solutions. The middle category also tend to check the problem solving steps. The low category checked the answers. Results of the questionnaires showed that the average metacognition activity of the middle category was the highest, and the low category was the lowest. The lack of students' knowledge on the concepts and principles of the problem caused students could not solve the problem either. The highest level of students' metacognition in this study was the strategic use.

Abstract

This study is a qualitative research that aims to get a description of the profile of mathematical problem solving class VIII SMP with intrapersonal and interpersonal intelligence based on Polya phase. The subjects of this study were students at grade eighth of Junior High School who have a intrapersonal and interpersonal intelligence. This study was conducted at the Junior High School in Palu, Central Sulawesi. The results of the study were as follow a) at the time to understand the math problems, subject who have intrapersonal intelligence tend to be cautious and be very confident if it had understood the problem well , while subject who have interpersonal intelligence tend to build up interaction with other people to easily understand the problems; b) during design the problem solving plan, both of the subjects used a same method, subjects with intrapersonal intelligence are relatively more patient and calm in the search for solving ideas than subject with interpersonal intelligence; c) when implemented problem solving plan, both of the subjects used the solving steps according to the plan, subject with intrapersonal intelligence did with relatively more thorough and careful than subject with interpersonal intelligence; d) when look back at the solution obtained, subject with intrapersonal intelligence tend to check repeatedly until feel confident with the answers, while subject with interpersonal intelligence tend to be checked only once and often asked and always said, had been convinced by the answer as to avoid having to prove in writing .

Abstract

This study aimed to obtain a profile solving linear systems of equations of two variables at SMAN 1 Sindue terms of high emotional intelligence. This research is a qualitative research. The research subject is obtained from tests of emotional equotient. The subjects used in this study wasone studentistaken out of grade X students who have high emotional equotient (SEQT). The results of the study at this stage of understanding the problem, (1) SEQT able to write and mention the known and asked, identify the unknown with the sentence statement and asked the interrogative sentence or order,provide examples of known and asked to use their own words, have confidence high and quiet in understanding the problem; (2) SEQT plan calmly problem solving using elimination and substitution; (3) SEQT implement planned seriously and not in a hurry using of elimination and substitution with a relatively short time; (4) SEQT check all the answers that made carefully. After getting the final results and validate the answers then believe that their results are correct, have high self-confidence, more calm and able to adapt to the social environment.

Abstract

The Research aimed at dinding out describing the direct and indirect effects of Prior Knowledge, Emotional Quotiont, and Parents attention on students Achivement of Mathematics in MTs Galang Subdistrict Tolitoli Regency. The Population of the Research was the students MTs Galang Subdistrict, Tolitoli Regency registered in 2015/2016, consisted of 984 students. These samples are taken with probability sampling technique. The data of prior knowledge and toward the mathematics learning which using achievement test, and the data emotional quotient and parents attention are taken with questionnaire. Istrument test cover validity and reliability. Hypotesis fourth, fifth, sixth, and seventh are using double regression, with significance level α = 0,05. The research findings indicated that there were significant effect between:First prior knowledge toward themathematics learning with contribution 40,7%. Second, emotional quotient toward the mathematics learning with contribution 12,1%. Third, parents attention toward the mathematics learning with contribution 11,9%. Forth, prior knowledge and emotional quotient toward the mathematics learning with contribution 45,2%. Fifth, prior knowledge and parents attention toward the mathematics learning with contribution 43,7%. Sixth, emotional quotient and parents attention toward the mathematics learning with contribution 20,1% and Seventh, prior knowledge, emotional quotient, and parents attention toward the mathematics learning with contribution 47,4%

Abstract

The objective of this qualitative research is to find out the description of the critical thinking profile of SMP students in solving mathematic problems in terms of cognitive style. To achieve the objective of this research used Group Embedded Figures Test (GEFT) by dividing students into field dependent and field independent cognitive style, mathematic problem, interview and observation. The result of this research shows that: (1) understanding the problem, SAi and SMd are able to identify, collect and analyse the given facts and information clearly and logicaly, (2) make a plan, SAi dan SMd are able to devine the alternative solution in order to solve the problem (3) carrying out the problem, SAi is able to use the alternative problem solution based on his plan systematically; meanwhile, SMd still finds it difficult to use the alternative problem solution based on his implementation plan not systematically. and (4) in the last step, SAi is able to evaluate the obtained result relevantly. Furthermore, he also can give clear argument in testing the obtained result. Whereas, SMd is not able to evaluate the obtained result relevantly, so he can not the given in testing the obtained result.

Abstract

This research aims to analyzed incomes and value added of Processed Dodol Salak in Tamarenja Village Donggala Regency, as one of the alternatives to reduce production losses thorny palm as a result of damage at the time of the storage period is done. This research is a qualitative descriptive. The population in this research is the home industry of processed dodol salak in the village Tamarenja Donggala Regency that the research sample, so that the method used census methods. Analyzed using analysis of income and value added. Results of this research is that the net income (profit) of processed home industry dodol salak Rp 1,142,575 per four times the production process for a month and added value obtained by Business Group from home industry business is Rp 32 815 per kilograms of raw materials used. Therefore the domestic industry of processed dodol salak in Tamarenja Village Donggala Regency conducted by KUB Jami'tun Khaerat can increase income and add value
