Abstract

This study was descriptif research, to be known the teacher skills for implementing thematic learning at SDN Impres 1 Tanamodindi Palu. The data collecting by instrument: instructional observation, validity of lessons plan, observation of PAIKEM, and student’s satisfaction. The result of this study showed the skills of instructional teacher had good category (69.89%). Only two teachers had excellent category (76 and 78%). The documents of lessons plan in good category (69.14%). The teacher skills to implementing PAIKEM got a good category (68.89%), but only one teacher had a little bit good category (87.78%). The student’s satisfaction had very good category its 3.00%. Base on the study finding, it can be concluded that the sixth of teacher hope to be still improve their skills for hopefully professional teacher.

Abstract

This study aimed to describe the students' motivation during the implementation of guided inquiry strategy onlearning of Science, and to describe improving learning achievement of students after the implementation of guided inquiry strategy on learning of Science in the Class VI at SDN 15 Palu, The method used was the classroom action research, implemented at SDN 15 Palu school year 2014/2015 in the Class VI consisted of 26 students. This study was conducted over two cycles. Each cycle included of planning, implementation, observation, and reflection. Data were qualitative collected through observation techniques, and quantitative obtained by giving a test at the end of each cycle. Results of the study showed that the implementation of guided inquiry strategy improved effectively learning achievement of students in the Class VI at SDN 15 Palu. Improving learning achievement was demonstrated by the acquisition of their learning achievement sat the first cycle as follows: the percentage of individual absorption was good average, the percentage of classical completeness was good average, and the percentage of classical absorption was good average. Those were increased at the second cycle: the percentage of individual absorption was very good average, the percentage of classical completeness was very good average, and the percentage of classical absorption was still good average, respectively. Activities of the teacher at the first cycle was good average, and at the second cycle was very good average. Activitiesof students at the first cycle was good average, and increased at the second cycle into a very good average. The use of guided inquiry strategy improved student’s motivation. Improving student’s motivation was indicated by increasing motivation with a good average at the first cycle to a very good average at the second cycle. This study concluded that the implementation of guided inquiry strategy improved motivation and learning achievement of students.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the student’s interest and critical thinking skills of the twelfth grade students of IPA at SMAN 1 Sindue through the application of problem based learning and project based learning. The study was conducted using an experimental method of pre-experimental design used one shot case study. The samples of this study were 34 students of class XII IPA 1 and 34 students of class XII IPA 2. The instrument used was student’s questionnaire test, assessment sheets of critical thinking, and observation sheets of teacher and student activities. Based on the analysis of the data obtained, the results are: through the application of problem-based learning and project-based learning of the twelfth grade students of SMAN 1 Sindue the student’s interest in learning was categorized as high. This is supported by the results of the research. There is no significant difference between the students' interestt who taught by using problem-based learning and project based learning. Both learning models are effectively contributes to increase student’s critical thinking skills with the result that there are significant differences between students' critical thinking skills of the twelfth grade students of IPA 1 and IPA 2 although both the mentioned group was categorized in the level of critical thinking.

Abstract

The research aims at developing Natural Science Subject Instructional packages of year XI Semester 1 SMK Negeri 5 Palu by employing Dick, Carey & Carey Model. The research employed Research Development (R&D) design. The instructional package drafts that have been previously developed were validated by a content expert, a design expert, and a media expert. The revised version of the packages were tried out into three different subjects; individual, small group, and big group which contained 25 students and 1 teacher. Questionnaire designed in Likert Scale was used as the instrument of data collection. Suggestion, input and comment during consultation period were also noted and used to compliment the collected data from the questionnaire. The results of the data analysis show that 1) the instructional materials product score ranges from 81.33% to 83.80% indicating that the instructional material is classified Good and Very Good, 2) the teacher’s book product score ranges from 80.00% to 91.25% indicating that the teacher’s book is classified Good and Very Good, 3) the student’s book product score ranges from 80.00% to 94.67% indicating that the student’s book is classified Good and Very Good. Based on Kuswadi’s argument (in Sudarman, 2006) if the developed instructional packages scored higher than 71%, the products are ready and valid to be used. The achievement of the students, between the pretest and the posttest, during the instructional materials try out is different significantly calculated by applying t-test formula. It implies that the instructional packages have been valid and ready to be used.

Abstract

The research was conducted in the second semester the SDN Negeri.2 Labuan school year 2013/2014. Problems in research is (1) whether there is a revision component in the development of lesson plan, teacher reference books, through 4D models in the discussion of damage to the natural environment learning model jigsaw The Elementary School fifth grade students Labuan?; (2) What factors are revised in the development of lesson plans, teacher reference books, by using 4D procedure in the discussion of damage to the natural environment through the model jigsaw in Elementary School fifth grade students Labuan?: This research purposes determine the components in the learning device gets priority for repair or revised so understanding the concept of matter damage to the natural environment in the fifth grade students of SD Negeri 2 Labuan can be increased. This type of research is the development of research, concluded that the lesson plan well designed and using the right approach will be very effective in improving outcomes and learning activities of students.

Abstract

This research aims to determine the effect of product, price, place and promotion Against sales volume of fried onion in Palu. The population in this research as many as 52 industry fried onions. The total sample as many as 34 industries that considered representative of the population. Data were analyzed using multiple linear analysis. The analysis showed that the value Ftest (9,815) > Ftabel (4,04), this means that the independent variable (Xi) simultaneously the effected significantly toward dependent variable (Y). The coefficient of determination (R²) equal to 0.775 atau 77,50%, which means that the industry's sales volume fried onions (Y) may be described or explained simultaneously by the product variable (X1), price (X2), place (X3), and promotion (X4), while the remaining 22,50% is explained by other variables not included in the model.

Abstract

This study aimed to improving activity and learning outcomes of students at fifth grade SD Inpres Baliase, Sigi County through implementing realistic learning approach. Data was collected by instrument of rubric of lesson plan, activity observation sheets of students and teacher, and formative test. The result of study showed that realistic learning approach could be improved students activities and learning outcomes. The student activities in first and second cycles have good categories. The learning by realistic approach could to be improving students learning outcomes. That was known by compare classical absorption between before and after action research. The learning outcome of first cycle has increased, although less that indicators. In the second cycle, it had significant and reach the classicai absorption as a school settled. Improve activity and learning outcomes was consequence of realistic learning approach that was first cycle in good categories and second cycle in very good.

Abstract

This study aims to explain the influence of models of inquiry learning and cognitive styles of students towards mathematics student learning achievements. This study is a quasi-experimental design with factorial 2 × 2. The independent variable in this study is the inquiry learning and direct instruction. Cognitive styles of students is divided into two parts, namely the cognitive style field independent (FI) and cognitive style field dependent (FD). The dependent variable is the result of students' mathematics learning. The instrument used was GEFT test used to determine students' prior learning styles koognitif implemented and achievement test used to measure the learning achievements of students after learning mathematics implemented. Samples were students of class VIII SMP Palu Negeri 2 theconsist of 48 students were taken by purposive sampling technique. Data were analyzed using ANOVA analysis of two-path. The results showed that (1) there is an interaction between the model and style koognitif inquiry learning on learning achievement outcomes of mathematics, (2) there is a difference between students' mathematics learning achievements by inquiry learning model and the learning achievements of students who received direct instruction on a group of students who have FI force, (3) there are differences in mathematics learning achievements of students who received the inquiry learning model and who received students learning directly to the student groups which share FD cognitive styles, (4) there are differences in mathematics learning outcomes of students between who have cognitive styles FI and students who have the cognitive styles of students who obtain the FD on inquiry learning, (5) there are differences in mathematics learning achievements students’, among students who have cognitive styles FI with students who have the cognitive style FD on students who received direct instruction.

Abstract

The aimed of this research were to determined the suitable of rootstock age for each cacao clone on the early grafting technique, to determined the best of cacao clone with great succesfull on early grafting technique and to obtain the best rootstock age for early grafting technique. The research was conducted during period of January to April 2015 at Laboratory of Forestry Sciences, Forestry Faculty, Tadulako University. This research was arranged based on completely randomized design with factorial treatments. The treatments consists of two factors, the first was superior cocoa clones as the entries and the second was the various age of rootstock. The output data was analyzed by Analysis of Varian and Duncan Multiple Range Test at 5%. The result showed that the suitable of rootstock age for each clone on the early grafting of cacao plant was not presented. Clone M01 had the best growth response in all observed variable. The average growing speed were 10,44 days after grafting. The percentage of success grafting was 100%, the number of shoots were 6,22, the number of leaves were 11,33 leaves, and shoot diameter was 0,40 mm. The two weeks-rootstock reflected better responses in all observed variable, where the average growing speed was 10,40 days after grafting, the percentage of living graft was 100%, the number of shoot was 5,20, the number of leaves was 10,67 leaves and shoot diameter was 0,33 mm.

Abstract

This research was aimed to determine the best based medium containing BAP in Melaleuca cajuputi propagation at the initiation stage, and to obtain the best growth of cajuputi plantlets during acclimatization stage. The experiment was arranged in completely randomized design, which consists of two experimental stage, cajuputi bud initiation and cajuputi plantlet acclimatization. At the initiation stage, the tested treatment were combination of based medium (WPM and MS) and Cytokinin (BAP). While at the acclimatization stage, plantlets from each treatment of initiation stage were grown in soil medium. This research was conducted over May to December 2014 at the Laboratory of Forest Biotechnology, Forestry Faculty Tadulako University. Data were analyzed by Analysis of Varian and the differences between treatments were determined by Duncan Multiple Range Test (DMRT). The outcome of this research showed that WPM based medium containing 0.7 ppm BAP had the best responses to the growth of cajuputi planlet (Melaleuca cajuputi) at the initiation stage. Application of Woody Plant Medium (WPM) based medium contained 0.7 ppm BAP at the initiation stage, give the optimal responses to the growth of Eucalyptus planlet (Melaleuca cajuputi) during the acclimatitation stage.
