Abstract

Phytochemical Tests and Antioxidant Activity of Moringa Leaf (Moringa oleifera) Methanol Extract Through Maceration Extraction Research has been carried out. This study aims to determine the secondary metabolites and antioxidant activity of Moringa Leaf Methanol Extract (Moringa oleifera). Secondary metabolite compounds contained in the ethanol extract of Moringa leaves were determined by the phytochemical method, while the antioxidant activity was determined by the DPPH method. Moringa leaves used are dried Moringa leaves that have been mashed. A total of 750 g of soni leaves were macerated for 3x24 hours with methanol as solvent. The extracts were then collected and concentrated to obtain a thick extract of 139.5668 g. The extracts were tested for phytochemicals and antioxidants. Phytochemical test results showed that the methanol extract of Moringa leaves contains alkaloids, flavonoids, steroids, saponins and polyphenols. The methanolic extract of Moringa leaves has a weak antioxidant activity with an IC50 value of 290.10 ppm.

Abstract

A study has been carried out entitled the effect of HCl concentration and fermentation time on the levels of bioethanol produced from cassava peel waste (Manihot essculenta Crantz). This study aims to determine the effect of the length of fermentation time required to produce the optimum yield of bioethanol from the hydrolysis of glucose using HCl. The use of HCl as acid hydrolysis aims to hydrolyze cellulose and hemicellulose contained in cassava peels into simple monomers, namely glucose. The method used in this study is the experimental method. Based on the results of the research, the optimum bioethanol distillate yield obtained the 8th day fermentation time of 9,75%.

Abstract

Research has been carried out to determine the levels of nitrogen, phosphorus, and potassium from sago midrib fiber (metroxylon sago). This study aims to determine the levels of nitrogen, phosphorus, and potassium from sago midrib fiber and its feasibility as a planting medium. The result of the nitrogen content using the kjeldahl method were carried out in three stages, namely the destruction stage, the distillation stage and the titration stage with a concentration of 0,21%. Result of phosphorus content by UV-Vis spectrofotometer method is 0,06%. Then the result of potassium levels using the atomic absorption spectrofotometer (AAS) method were 0,0615. From the result obtained, the content of the sago midrib fiber does not meet the requirements as a growing medium used today. However, sago midrib fiber has the potential as a growing medium used today because it contains NPK nutrients, although in very low amounts.

Abstract

Terpenoids are a group of hydrocarbons that are widely found in plants, mainly contained in their sap and cell vacuoles. Identification and separation of terpenoid compounds can be carried out using thin layer chromatography (TLC) and gravity column chromatography. This study aims to determine the separation process of terpenoid compounds and to determine the group of n-hexane fractions resulting from column chromatography separation that are positive for terpenoids in kaembu-embu (Blumea balsamifera.) leaves. As much 100grams of fine sample of kaembu-embu (Blumea balsamifera) leaves were macerated using 96% n-hexane solvent, for 5x 24 hoursand obtained extract as much as 8.4 grams after evaporation. The results showed thatThe results of the separation of the n-hexane fraction of kaembu-embu (Blumea Balsamifera) leaf using thin layer chromatography (TLC) contained 9 types of compounds and The n-hexane fraction group was obtained with the column yielding 104 fractions, and the TLC results showed that the terpenoids had an Rf value of 0.30 up to and including 0,80.

Abstract

Research has been done Antioxidant Activity Test of n-Hexane and Ethyl Acetate Fractions of Moringa Leaves (Moringa oleifera). The aim of this study for knowing what types of secondary metabolites are contained in the n-hexane and ethyl acetate fractions as well as the antioxidant activity of the n-hexane and ethyl acetate fractions of Moringa leaves. The secondary metabolites contained in the n-hexane and ethyl acetate fractions of Moringa leaves were determined by the phytochemical method, while the antioxidant activity was tested by the DPPH method. Leaf Moringa used is dried Moringa leaves that have been mashed. From 500 grams of finely powdered Moringa leaves (Moringa oleifera), macerated with 2,000 mL methanol for 3x24 hours, obtained as much as 139.57 grams of methanol thick extract. Then proceed with fractionation using the liquid-liquid partition method. As much 30 grams of macerated methanol viscous extract is dissolved in 100 mL of distilled water. The solution was then partitioned by adding 100 mL of n-hexane, shaken in a separating funnel and allowed to stand until there are two layers. The distilled water layer was re-partitioned with ethyl acetate in the same way and evaporated so that obtained n-hexane fraction as much as 1.88 grams and 1.66 grams of ethyl acetate. Phytochemical test results showed that the n-hexane fraction contained alkaloids, steroids and saponins. While the ethyl acetate fraction contains alkaloids, steroids, saponins, tannins and polyphenols. The results showed that the n-hexane fraction mhas antioxidant activity which is classified as very weak with an IC50 value of 299.80 ppm and the ethyl acetate fraction have strong antioxidant activity with an IC50 value of 57.98 ppm.

Abstract

A study "Test Antioxidant Activity of Ethyl Acetate Extract of startfruit Leaves (Averrhoa bilimbi L.) with the DPPH Method" with the aim is to determine the types of identified secondary metabolites identified in the ethyl acetate extract of starfruit leaves, and to determine the antioxidant activity of the ethyl acetate extract of starfruit leaves wuluh. Wuluh starfruit leaves used as much as 250 grams which were macerated with technical ethyl acetate solvent and obtained a thick ethyl acetate extract of 12.62%. The group of secondary metabolites was determined by the phytochemical method, and the method used to determine the antioxidant activity was the DPPH method. The ethyl acetate extract of belimbing wuluh leaves contains alkaloids, steroids, tannins and has a very low antioxidant activity with an IC50 value of 547.56 ± 0.0196 ppm, while vitamin C has a very strong antioxidant activity with an IC50 value of 2.33 ± 0. 1786. Based on this IC50 value, vitamin C is the strongest antioxidant from the ethyl acetate extract of belimbing wuluh leaves, and this leaf extract is classified as a very weak antioxidant.

Abstract

Research has been carried out to determine the levels of NPK (Nitrogen, Phosphorus and Potassium) in the palm fronds (Arenga pinnata M.). Palm fronds can be used as a growing medium. One indicator of a material that can be used as a growing medium is the availability of nutrients. So the purpose of this study was to determine the feasibility of the palm midrib (Arenga pinnata M.) to be used as a growing medium. The method used to determine the levels of NPK (Nitrogen, Phosphorus and Potassium) used a different method. Determination of nitrogen content was determined using the Kjeldahl method, phosphorus using the UV-Vis Spectrophotometer method and potassium using the Atomic Absorption Spectrophotometer method. Based on the results of research conducted, on the palm fronds, the results obtained with nitrogen levels of 0.171%, Phosphorus of 1.826% and Potassium of 0.0022%. From the results of these studies that meet the requirements as a planting medium is Phosphorus so that the palm fronds can be recommended to be used as a planting medium.

Abstract

A research entitled description of cooking oil quality resulted from heating. This study aims to describe the quality of cooking oil produced by heating. This research is a quantitative descriptive which tests on 3 variables, namely water content, free fatty acid content and peroxide value of cooking oil before and after heating. Water content was determined by thermogravimetry method, free fatty acid content was determined by alkalimetric titration method (KOH) and the peroxide number was determined by iodometric method. The results showed that in determining the water content, the three types of oil met the SNI 7709 (2019) standard with the value of packaged oil I, packaged oil II and bulk oil respectively 0.1197%, 0,0749% and 0,1048%. In determining the free fatty acid content without heating, none met the SNI 7709:2019 standard, while in the determination of the free fatty acid content after heating, the three types of oil met the SNI 7709 (2019) standard with successive values of 0.334%, 0.2319% and 0.3141%. In determining the peroxide value without heating, the three types of oil met the SNI 7709 (2019) standards with successive values of 6.7217 mek O2/kg, 8.7664 mek O2/kg and 9.6556 mek O2/kg, while in determining the peroxide number after heating, only oil packaged II cooking oil and bulk cooking oil that meet the SNI 7709 (2019) standards with values of 7.8949 mek O2/kg and 9.6556 mek O2/kg respectively.

Abstract

Telah dilakukan penelitian untuk mengetahui Persepsi Praktikan pada Kualitas Pelaksanaan Praktikum Kimia Dasar di Universitas Halu Oleo Semester Ganjil Tahun 2022/2023. Penelitian dilakukan seluruh terhadap keseluruhan mahasiswa praktikan dengan memberikan respon pada angket yang memuat 13 pertanyaan yang dimaksudkan untuk melihat respon praktikan terhadap merupakan penelitian populasi dimana aspek layanan asisten, profil asisten, laporan dan materi praktikum sarana dan prasarana maupun akses online informasi praktikum. Angket yang mengukur respon mahasiswa dibuat dalam skala likert dengan penilaian evaluasi baik-buruk. Data kemudian diolah untuk mendapatkan persentase pada tangapan praktikan yang menunjukkan perepsi praktikan pada tiap aspek layanan. Hasil analisis semua aspek layanan mendapatkan respon dalam kategori sangat baik. Berturut-turut untuk respon terhadap layanan asisten, profil asisten, laporan dan materi praktikum sarana dan prasarana maupun akses online mendapatkan tanggapan berturut: 83,51%; 86,50%, 85,27%, 88,29% dan 83,37% yang semuanya masuk kategori sangat tinggi/baik. Rata-rata persepsi mahasiswa praktikan sebesar 85,41% yang juga masuk kategori sangat tinggi/baik. Adapun nilai IKM yang diperoleh adalah 88,36 yang berarti memiliki nilai mutu “A” atau dalam kinerja sangat baik. Hal ini menunjukkan bahwa segala upaya yang dilakukan untuk optimalisasi pelaksanaan praktikum kimia dasar sudah sangat membuahkan hasil.

Abstract

Telah dilakukan penelitian efektivitas penerapan model pembelajaran discovery learning dalam meningkatkan hasil belajar peserta didik kelas X IPA pada materi pokok ikatan kimia. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui keefektivitas model pembelajaran discovery learning dalam meningkatkan hasil belajar serta respon siswa terhadap model pembelajaran discovery learning pada materi ikatan kimia. Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian yaitu pre-eksperimen dengan desain penelitian one-group pretest-postest design. Pertama pemberian pretest kemudian pemberian perlakuan discvery learning setelah itu pemberian posttest. Teknik pengumpulan data melalui pemberian pretes dan posttest yang berupa soal pilihan ganda sebanyak 20 butir soal, lembar observasi pembelajaran. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa nilai rata-rata hasil belajar peserta didik pre-test sebelum diajar dengan discovery learning adalah 27,7 meningkat menjadi 78,8 pada posttest dengan nilai N-gain 0,71 merupakan kriteria tinggi. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian disimpulkan bahwa penerapan model pembelajaran discovery learning dapat meningkatkan hasil belajar peserta didik.
