Abstract

Software effort estimation is one of the critical aspects of software project management, but it often faces accuracy issues. Although statistical methods such as Linear Regression have been used, previous research has shown that these models are often inefficient because they involve many variables that may not be relevant. This study aims to improve the performance of Linear Regression models in software effort estimation using Forward Selection feature selection techniques. Two models were compared: the conventional Linear Regression model and the model with Forward Selection. Evaluation metrics include Mean Absolute Error (MAE), Mean Squared Error (MSE), Root Mean Square Error (RMSE), and coefficient of determination (R2). Results show significant improvements in all performance metrics on models with Forward Selection. Notably, the MSE increased from 1.0 to 0, suggesting that this model is more effective in explaining data variability. The use of Forward Selection in Linear Regression models for software effort estimation shows significant performance improvements and is worthy of consideration for further industry research and practice.

Abstract

This paper discusses the prototype of integrating a knowledge management system with location-based services for an application that employs historical mosques. One problem that often comes up in local culture is keeping its identity. We must work together to keep it alive so the next generation can experience it. For example, the historic mosque is an essential part of Indonesian cultural heritage that needs to be protected because it has crucial spiritual, historical, social, and artistic values. Many cultural heritage items are in danger because of how quickly things change. As a result, it is essential to protect old mosques as part of Indonesia's cultural heritage. It can quickly look through ancient mosques and use them to guide religious-based heritage tourism by combining a knowledge management system (KMS) with a location-based service (LBS). Through KMS, information from different sources can be organized and clearly shown. This can help historic mosques and those nearby people be seen for what they can do. The study's goal is to create a prototype of the LBS-integrated KMS-based historic mosque application. Later, these features can help tourists find their way and learn about the nearby culture and people, such as the historical mosques in Lombok and Java. The results suggest that the system be implemented to make learning about and getting around historic mosques easier.

Abstract

Entrepreneurial intention is an individual's desire or motivation to become an entrepreneur and start a business. Gen Z generation in Indonesia has a business interest below average at 1.60%, compared to the country's average of 18.94%. Increasing entrepreneurial interest in the Gen Z generation requires an approach and creating an environment that develops entrepreneurial potential. This researcher conducted a survey online and face-to-face to collect data from 115 randomly selected participants. The response rate was 50.4%, and 73 participants completed the survey, representing approximately 30.43% of the total sample. Therefore, the sample size for this study was 58 respondents who provided varying assessments. Researchers also distributed respondents only to the Gen Z age group for all items. Researchers provided questionnaires with surveys directly and sent them online. The tool researchers used to get respondents was questionnaires. The program used to analyze data using the regression method is Statistical Product and Service Solution (SPSS). To perform regression analysis on an interval scale, researchers use arithmetic calculations on data collected from respondents. The research results are accurate and reliable, with a significance level of 95%. Results of research regarding perceived behavioral control and subjective norms influence entrepreneurial intention. Based on the results of this research, the researchers expected that these results would be helpful to respondents and readers so that they could be used in further study.
