Abstract

This investigation seeks to select the most effective strategy for reducing the stunting rate in the Garut district so that the high stunting rate can be de- creased. This study used qualitative methods to collect primary and secondary data through direct observation and interviews. Additionally, supplementary data was obtained from literature reviews, interview guidelines, recording equipment, and cameras used as research instruments. The analysis method uses the Analytical Hierarchy Process method along with an analysis tool called Expert Choice software to make choosing the most important criteria, sub-criteria, and options easier. Therefore, in this research, the selected sub-criteria and alternatives are sub-criteria for RT drinking water management and alternative socialization that must be prioritized to reduce the garut stunting rate. In contrast to the RT Drinking Water Management Subcriteria, which has a weight of 550 and a consistency value of 0.0014 and is deemed consistent because the consistency value is less than 0.1, the Alternative Socialization Subcriteria has a weight of 361 and a consistency value of 0.02 and is also deemed consistent because the consistency value is less than 0.1. Then, the priority results from the analytical hierarchy process were strengthened using a SWOT analysis, with the RT Drinking Water Management and Alternative Socialization sub-criteria having good weight and being located in quadrant I, which has the capability and potential to reduce the stunting rate of the Garut Regency’s.

Abstract

Every government agency that provides public services to the community must be able to produce quality public services that satisfy the community. It cannot be denied that the manager's duties cannot be separated from community satisfaction. Thus, this research aims to examine how the manager's function influences people's happiness in public service malls in Payakumbuh City, with special emphasis on the manager's internal and external responsibilities. This research uses an associative quantitative approach, supported by primary and secondary data, as well as validated and reliable field data collection questionnaires. Using the Slovin formula to calculate the sample size, 209 respondents were used in the proportional stratified random sampling procedure to obtain the sample size. Next, multiple regression analysis was used to evaluate the data, after previously passing a preparatory test called the classical assumption test. The findings of the analysis show that the role of managers, both internal and external, has been shown to have a major impact on people's satisfaction, sometimes simultaneously. Therefore, public service malls need to consider the various contributions made by managers to increase customer satisfaction.

Abstract

This research aimed at understanding the implementation concerning the Denpasar Municipality government policy which is called “Kube". Kube is a form of community joint business group program that aims to empower village communities in the form of cash assistance. This research used a qualitative approach and explores the opinions of key informants. The results of the analysis showed that various problems in the field caused the “Kube” program to be ineffective due to limited facilities and infrastructure, small development capital and the absence of final marketing of home industry products. Eventually, it became one of the causes of high poverty rates in villages. To overcome this problem, the government is expected to provide greater capital, create a marketing network for home industry products, and train community groups and provide technical assistants in the field

Abstract

This research aims to explore the level of community participation in public service innovation and explore the factors supporting this innovation. This type of research uses a mixed method, where in this type of quantitative research, the quantitative method used is cross-sectional with convenience sampling techniques, while qualitative research uses interview and observation data collection methods and is analyzed using Nvivo 12 Plus software. The results of the research show that the level of community participation in Makassar City is that the level of decision making is at the "not good" level because it is only around 38%, whereas at the implementation stage with a value of around 78% and the evaluation with a value of around 76% can be categorized as "Good" and in the category "Very Good" is only at the innovation utilization stage, namely reaching a percentage value of around 88%. Meanwhile, in Sinjai Regency, the very good category is only in the aspect of utilizing innovation, namely around 83%. Meanwhile, the aspects in the good category are implementation and evaluation indicators with respective percentage levels of 78% and 63%. The lowest level of community participation was in the decision-making aspect, namely with a percentage of around 55% in the "sufficient" category. The research results relate to supporting factors for participation, namely the will of the community, knowledge, awareness of implementing government programs, benefits of innovation, innovation systems and togetherness in the community. Meanwhile, the inhibiting factors are the lack of community involvement in determining government policy, community perception, busy work, weak program outreach. Thus, regional governments are expected to continue to increase community participation, especially in the decision-making aspect.

Abstract

Since return to Nigeria to civilian administration in 1999, women have been making efforts to access political leadership space with little progress. With international and national instruments to ensure more women gain inroad into politics, there is a dismal record in this aspect. Anchoring the paper on theory of political participation, the paper explored the possibility of gender depoliticisation through the involvement of young women in politics. Desk research method which utilised secondary sources of data collection was employed. The paper argued that in spite of the fact that young women are involved in activism, they are grossly underrepresented in political leadership. Culture, political acrimony, stigmatisation, religion, lack of finance, political violence, etc., constitute barriers to young women representation in politics. The paper contended that there is always political inequality between women and men, particularly among the youngest generations. The paper concluded that young women are at risk of not being included and favourably considered in the decision making process, as non-participation in politics poses a threat to their gender's dignified existence in the body polity. It recommended that socio-economic barriers including culture, religion, patriarchal belief, political acrimony, insecurity, etc., should be addressed. Empowerment should start from the family to re-orientate on the social barriers affecting young women participation in leadership positions. Girl-child education needs prioritisation to develop potentials, particularly contribution in decision making process at all levels of governance, among others.
