DIRASAH: Jurnal Kajian Islam is a scholarly journal published by Litera Academica Publishing, under the Yayasan Amal Ibnu Shabil (Based on Akte Pendirian Yayasan No. 08, January 22, 2022), aimed at disseminating research findings and scientific studies in various fields of Islamic sciences. The journal prioritizes the quality and originality of articles that contribute to the development of Islamic studies, both in terms of theory, methodology, and application. DIRASAH: Jurnal Kajian Islam accepts articles from academics, researchers, and practitioners who are competent in their fields. Each submitted article undergoes a rigorous review process by experts to ensure the quality and relevance of the publication. DIRASAH: Jurnal Kajian Islam is published four times a year (January, April, July, and October) and is available online through the Open Journal System (OJS), facilitating wide access and distribution. The article will be published in Bahasa Indonesia and English. We invite researchers and academics to contribute and disseminate knowledge through this journal for the advancement of Islamic studies and the enlightenment of the community. Authors who want to submit their manuscript to the editorial office of DIRASAH: Jurnal Kajian Islam should obey the writing guidelines. If the manuscript submitted is not appropriate with the guidelines or written in a different format, it will be rejected by the editors before further reviewed. The editors will only accept the manuscripts which meet the assigned format.

Abstract

Generation Z grew up amidst the rapid development of digital technology, which influenced the way they accessed and spread Islamic values. Technology, especially social media and digital applications, provides opportunities for this generation to explore religious teachings, as well as convey religious messages to a wider audience in innovative and relevant ways. However, challenges faced include dependence on the digital world which can divert focus from religious practices and the risk of being exposed to information that is not always in accordance with Islamic values. However, with critical skills and community support, Generation Z can use technology to integrate Islamic values ​​in everyday life and play an active role in spreading religious teachings in modern society. Digital technology, if used wisely, can be an effective means of strengthening their religious identity.

Abstract

This study aims to explore the application of the al-’ām rule in the interpretation of the Qur'an through a study of Ibn 'Āshūr's Tafsīr Tahrīr wa Tanwīr. With a library research approach, eight main rules are analyzed to understand the application of generality in the interpretation of the Qur'an. The results show that the al-’ām rule has a significant role in compiling the principle of generality which includes linguistic, legal, and Shari'ah aspects. Ibn 'Āshūr utilized this rule to interpret verses with an in-depth linguistic approach, paying attention to munāsabah, and basing the interpretation on historical relevance. The main findings indicate that the application of the al-’ām rule enriches the understanding of tafsir, avoids errors of interpretation, and provides contextual solutions in response to the challenges of the times. In conclusion, this study emphasizes the importance of al-’ām rules as a foothold in a more systematic and universal interpretation, especially in linguistics-based tafsir and tahlīli method.

Abstract

Indonesia with multicultural characteristics has a diversity of dynamics of social life patterns both in opinion and culture. The opinion that developed and popular in Indonesia in the legal area is the opinion of madzahib al-arba'ah (Hanafi, maliki, shafi'I, and Hanbali). So that in the context of making decisions related to developing problems, not only in the area of worship, the opinion of madzahib al-arba'ah is always the primary reference and reference.  However, not a few people who are able to understand these differences, giving rise to polemics and rumors related to the validity of worship among others. this study aims to explain the content of surah al-Maidah verse 6 by using the tahlili method. This research is qualitative library research with descriptive-analytical method to explain the content of surah al-Maidah verse 6. The exposure of Surah al-Maidah verse 6 will be discussed from several aspects, both the discussion of vocabulary followed by the global meaning of the verse, the exposure of asbab nuzul, and analysis related to the law contained therein. The result of this study is the significance of surah al-maidah verse 6 in delivering the validity of an ubudiyah. Ubudiyah (prayer) in the territory of Islam is a sacred thing, where every adherent always does it in any conditions and circumstances. Differences in madzhab imams (ikhtilaf al-madzhab) in understanding the nashah surah al-maidah verse 6 is a Grace (blessing) for religious believers, where they can follow the opinions of other madzhab imams in certain conditions.

Abstract

This study aims to identify the principles of prophetic journalism that can be applied in mass media practices, analyze the challenges journalists face in implementing this approach, and explore strategies and practical solutions to support its application. The research employs a qualitative approach with a descriptive-analytical method. The findings reveal that prophetic journalism offers an approach that integrates the values of justice, truth, and humanity in news reporting, positioning mass media as a moral guardian of society and a positive agent of social change. However, implementing these principles faces challenges such as political and economic pressures, ethical dilemmas, and conflicts between idealism and commercial demands. Nevertheless, strategies such as strengthening ethical commitments, gaining public support, and developing media business models that ensure editorial independence can help overcome these obstacles. The study recommends developing internal mechanisms within media organizations to ensure the application of prophetic journalism principles, enhancing journalists' competencies through continuous training, and fostering active public participation in supporting media with integrity. Further research on the impact of implementing prophetic journalism is also suggested to strengthen the theoretical and practical foundation of this approach. Thus, prophetic journalism holds significant potential to contribute to the creation of a more just, civilized, and moral society.

Abstract

Online money lending through applications such as Shopee Spinjam has become a rapidly growing phenomenon in the digital era, especially in meeting people's financial needs in a practical way. However, this service raises various questions regarding its compatibility with the principles of Islamic law. One of the main issues is the application of interest charged to users as well as the collection process in case of default. This study aims to examine concerns regarding the transparency of contracts, the validity of proposed terms and conditions, and potential ethical violations in the billing process, particularly in terms of Islamic law compliance. The research method employed is a qualitative approach with a descriptive design, encompassing a literature study and the analysis of secondary data in the form of testimonials and user reviews from various online platforms. This method is employed to explore the practical aspects of utilizing the Shopee SPinjam application. The results of this study indicate that Shopee SPinjam has implemented the conditions of qardh; however, there are still rules and practices that are not in accordance with Islamic law. he conclusion of this research is that there needs to be stricter regulations and education to the public regarding loans that are in accordance with Islamic law to avoid harmful practices.

Abstract

This study aims to explore the relevance of the fundamental principles of Islamic education according to Hasan Langgulung to the needs of modern education, as well as the implications of their application in facing global challenges in the era of disruption. The method used is a qualitative approach with descriptive analysis, through literature review and interpretation of the fundamental concepts of Islamic education proposed by Hasan Langgulung. The research findings indicate that the fundamental principles of Islamic education, including wholeness (syumuliyah), integration, authenticity, scientific, practical, solidarity, and openness, are highly relevant to contemporary education. Each principle supports the creation of holistic education, which develops not only intellectual aspects but also spiritual, moral, and social dimensions. The results emphasize that with a systematic and adaptive approach, Hasan Langgulung's concept of Islamic education can be a solution to produce generations who are not only excel in knowledge but also possess high integrity in facing global dynamics. The implications of these findings highlight the importance of integrating both worldly and otherworldly knowledge in the education curriculum, as well as strengthening social and moral values within the education system. As a recommendation, educators and policymakers are encouraged to implement these fundamental principles in designing curricula that are more relevant to future challenges.

Abstract

The rapid development of the digital era has significantly influenced the mindset, behavior, and daily lives of the millennial generation, who are often referred to as "digital natives." This phenomenon presents both challenges and opportunities for Islamic preaching (dakwah). Traditional methods, such as lectures or conventional study circles, often fail to resonate with millennials. They demand interactive, technology-based approaches that align with their lifestyles and values, including inclusivity, freedom of expression, and concern for global issues. Sociology of dakwah plays a strategic role in addressing these challenges by analyzing the social dynamics and unique characteristics of millennials. It provides insights into their dependence on technology, digital communication patterns, and values, enabling the formulation of effective preaching methods. Leveraging social media and digital technology, preachers can creatively and contextually deliver Islamic messages while addressing contemporary issues such as environmental sustainability, social justice, and inclusivity. This study employs a qualitative descriptive-analytical approach to explore the contribution of the sociology of dakwah in applying relevant methods for preaching to millennials. Additionally, it identifies challenges such as hedonism, instant gratification, and individualism, and proposes strategies to overcome these obstacles. By integrating innovative and interactive approaches, dakwah can effectively address the spiritual and intellectual needs of millennials, ensuring the message of Islam remains relevant in the modern era.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the effectiveness of the distribution of zakat funds carried out by BAZNAS North Sumatra Province, and identify the impact of zakat distribution on the welfare of mustahik, North Sumatra Province which has a significant Muslim population and large zakat potential. The method used is qualitative with descriptive analysis with literature study to collect related data. The results show that BAZNAS North Sumatra Province has implemented various economic empowerment programs, the level of distribution of zakat funds by BAZNAS North Sumatra Province shows that it has been distributed effectively as shown from some literature that the author found, and has made a positive contribution in increasing the income and welfare of mustahik for a while, but it has not been effective in improving the welfare of mustahik in the long term.

Abstract

This research aims to analyze the meaning of modernization and how this concept influences the context of da'wah and religious life in Indonesia. Apart from that, this research also aims to understand the concept of multicultural moderation in a pluralistic Indonesian society. This research uses a qualitative approach with a descriptive-analytical design. The research results show that the Indonesian nation is a diverse nation in terms of ethnicity, language, culture and religion. Even though Muslims are the majority in Indonesia, this country is not an Islamic country and does not implement Islamic law in its state system. Indonesia is the Unitary State of the Republic of Indonesia (NKRI) which is based on Pancasila and the 1945 Constitution. The challenge in current da'wah scholarship is to find new formulas that suit the diversity of traditions, cultures and religions in Indonesia. Therefore, a typical Indonesian da'wah model approach is needed which is a response to multiculturalism. Religious moderation itself is a moderate way of viewing religion, namely understanding and practicing religious teachings without extremism, both to the right and to the left. In this context, strengthening knowledge and understanding of national insight is very necessary, especially for state servants and other parties who have an interest in managing the country.

Abstract

This study aims to describe the availability, utilization, and impact of facilities and infrastructure on the implementation of Islamic education at SDIT Al-Hidayah Bogor. The research employs a descriptive qualitative approach, utilizing data collection techniques that include observation, interviews, and documentation. The results show that SDIT Al-Hidayah Bogor possesses adequate facilities and infrastructure that align with the needs of integrated Islamic-based learning, including classrooms, prayer rooms, laboratories, libraries, and supporting areas. These facilities are optimally utilized to support teaching and learning activities as well as the development of students' Islamic character. The presence and quality of the facilities play a significant role in creating a conducive, efficient, and religious learning atmosphere. The findings imply that good facilities and infrastructure are key factors in the success of integrated Islamic education.
