Abstract

Skin problems, especially on the face, are often considered to diminish appearance and require significant expense. However, caring for the face with natural ingredients is safer because they are free of chemicals. The natural ingredient in question is papaya seeds, which contain the enzyme papain, which can prevent wrinkles, minimize pores, and moisturize the skin. Besides being a food ingredient, black sticky rice can also benefit skin beauty by slowing premature aging, thanks to its high antioxidant and anthocyanin content, vitamin E, and fiber. This study aims to determine the physical properties of papaya seed and black sticky rice masks, including color, aroma, texture, and panelist preferences. This is an experimental study with papaya seed and black sticky rice masks as the subjects. This quantitative study used experimental methods. The aim of this research is to determine the effect and comparison of the results of mixing foundation with the burning technique and the results of mixing foundation without the burning technique. The method used in this research is True Experimental. Data analysis techniques Normality Test, Homogeneity Test, t Test and Duncan Test. The results of the analysis show that there is an effect of using mixed foundation without burning technique on the durability indicator X1 (2.28) which is significantly different from mixing foundation with burning technique X2 (3.85). The results of the analysis of the effect of using mixed foundation without burning techniques on the covering power indicator X1 (2.85) are significantly different from mixing foundations using burning techniques X2 (3.14).

Abstract

This study aims to analyze a ginger-based hair tonic product in preventing hair loss. The hair tonic is made from natural ginger, which is known for its potential to improve hair health and prevent hair loss. The study was conducted using a quantitative experimental method involving 12 female participants with hair loss issues. The participants were divided into a treatment group that used a ginger hair tonic and a control group that used other commercial products proven effective in preventing hair loss. The results showed that the use of ginger hair tonic significantly reduced the hair loss rate in the treatment group participants. During the 2-week usage period, the participants reported increased hair thickness, a significant reduction in hair loss, and improved shine and softness of their hair. Hedonic testing was also conducted to evaluate the users' preference for the ginger hair tonic. The results of the hedonic test showed that the majority of respondents liked the aroma and absorption power of the ginger hair tonic, but there were some uncertainties regarding the texture and color of the product. Nevertheless, the ginger hair tonic still showed potential as a preferred product among the majority of respondents. In further development, it is important to consider the feedback from the hedonic test to improve the formulation of the ginger hair tonic. This study provides promising preliminary evidence on the feasibility of using ginger hair tonic in naturally preventing hair loss.

Abstract

Bitter melon leaves (Momordica Charantia L) can be used as the main ingredient in a hair tonic because they contain flavonoids and vitamin C, which can help overcome hair loss. The objectives of this study are to a) find out how to make bitter melon leaves as a hair tonic, b) to find out the feasibility of bitter melon leaf hair tonic seen from the chemical content such as flavonoids and vitamin C, c) to find out the feasibility of hair tonic seen from the evaluation of preparations such as organoleptic and pH tests, d) to find out the feasibility of hair tonic seen from the hedonic test (panelists' preference for bitter melon leaf hair tonic), e) to find out the feasibility of bitter melon leaves as a hair tonic. This type of research is quantitative descriptive research. The tests for flavonoid and vitamin C content and pH were conducted at the FMIPA UNP Laboratory and the Pharmacy Laboratory of Perintis Indonesia University. The research targets bitter melon leaves, which are processed into a hair tonic to address hair loss. The feasibility of Bitter Melon Leaves as a hair tonic is assessed through laboratory, organoleptic, and hedonic tests. Up to 7 people in the discussion room. The data analysis technique uses descriptive analysis by showing the percentage. In this study, based on the research results obtained, bitter melon leaf preparations were made in liquid form. The flavonoid content of bitter melon leaves was 16 mg / 100 g (1.63%), and Vitamin C was 33.24%. Based on the organoleptic test, the odor indicator scored 71% in the distinctive bitter melon leaf smell category, the color indicator scored 71% in the dark brown category, and the absorption indicator scored 71% in the sufficient absorption category. The feasibility of bitter melon leaf hair tonic was determined by the results of the hedonic test (panelists' preferences), which showed a value of 57% in the like category. The researcher hopes that the results of this study on the suitability of bitter melon leaf hair tonic for hair loss can serve as a reference for further research and refinement in the cosmetology and beauty department.
