Journal of Biology science and Biology Education is an open-access peer-reviewed scientific journal published by PT Ininnawa Paramacitra Edukasi. The journal aims to be an excellent platform for the exchange of knowledge in the fields of biology science and biology education. It is dedicated to presenting high-quality research results, innovative ideas, and the latest thoughts in the fields of biology science and biology education. The scope includes various topics in biological sciences, such as cell biology, ecology, genetics, biotechnology, plant biology, fungi, microbes, and other related topics in pure biology. Additionally, the journal highlights current issues in the field of biology education, including innovative teaching methods, biology learning models, strategies and approaches to biology learning, biology learning media, as well as the integration of learning technologies in the field of biology. The journal is published in March and September. We invite all academics and educators to submit their papers to our journal.

Abstract

This research is an experimental research with the Quasy Experiment Design research type which aims to determine the effect of the problem posing learning model on biology learning outcomes regarding biodiversity material in Class X SMA Negeri 1 Bantaeng. The independent variable of this research is the application of problem posing learning models and conventional learning models, while the dependent variable is student learning outcomes on biodiversity material. The population of this study was all students in class The research data was obtained by giving a test of learning outcomes on biodiversity material in the form of a pre-test and post-test. The data analysis technique was carried out using covariate analysis (Anakova). Based on the results of the analysis, P = 0.000 is smaller than α = 0.05. It can be concluded that the application of the problem posing learning model has a significant effect on the biology learning outcomes of class X SMA Negeri 1 Bantaeng on biodiversity material. Abstract

ABSTRAK Trikoma adalah rambut-rambut yang tumbuh dari sel-sel epidermis dengan bentuk, susunan serta fungsi yang bervariasi. Trikoma biasa ditemukan pada suku terong-terongan atau family Solanaceae. Fungsi Trikoma yaitu melindungi tumbuhan dari herbivora, panas dan sinar matahari, serta berperan juga dalam mengontrol daun dari kehilangan air. Penelitian ini bertujan untuk memberikan informasi variasi struktur anatomi Trikoma pada famili Solanaceae. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode SLR atau Systematic Literature Review. Penelitian ini dilakukan di Jurusan Biologi Fakultas Matematika dan Ilmu Pengetahuan Universitas Negeri Makassar. Teknik pengumpulan data yang digunakan yakni dengan strudi literatur, dengan cara mengumpulkan sejumlah artikel dari beberapa jurnal yang mengkaji khusus tentang trikoma pada famili Solanaceae. Hasil penelitian yang didapatkan yakni ditemukan beberapa jenis trikoma pada spesies famili Solanaceae. Spesies dari famili Solanaceae yang menjadi sampel yang ditemukan pada artikel-artikel yakni Solanum lycopersicum, Solanum melongena, Lycopersicon pimpilellifolium, Capsicum annum, Capsicum frutescens & Physalis angulata. Hasil dari penelitian ini yakni ditemukan beberapa jenis trokoma pada family Solanaceae, yakni trikoma sederhana (jarum), trikoma glandular dan trikoma non-glandular.

Abstract

Motivation has a strategic role in a person's learning activities. Learning motivation is needed to foster interest in lessons, so that students are encouraged to learn. Learning outcomes are a manifestation of a student's process of motivating themselves in learning so that students have high learning outcomes where the student has a high level of mastery in receiving material from the teacher in the subject being studied. This research aims to determine the description of learning motivation and biology learning outcomes of students at SMAN 7 Pangkep. The type of research used is descriptive research using simple random sampling techniques. Data collection in this research used a learning motivation questionnaire and data on student learning outcomes was taken from odd semester exam results in the form of documentation where the data was processed in two ways, namely descriptive and inferential analysis. The data analysis technique uses a simple regression analysis test. The results of this research show that there is a positive relationship between learning motivation and student learning outcomes in biology learning with a correlation coefficient value of 0.487 indicating that the data obtained is in the medium category. The conclusion of this research is that there is a positive and significant relationship between learning motivation and the learning outcomes of class XI MIPA students at SMAN 7 Pangkep in biology learning. This means that the higher the student's learning motivation, the higher the learning outcomes. With motivation, students can develop activities and initiatives that can direct and maintain persistence in carrying out learning activities.

Abstract

The development of information and communication technology demands that learners enhance their critical thinking skills to filter accurate information, thereby achieving truth and a proper understanding of the knowledge around them. This is also expected to help improve students' learning outcomes. The research used in this study is quantitative descriptive research with the aim of determining the relationship between critical thinking skills and student learning outcomes in biology, specifically in the digestive system topic for Grade XI. The research subjects used were all Grade XI science students at SMAN 3 Palopo. The determination of the subjects used the Slovin formula, resulting in a sample size of 147 students. The sampling technique employed was purposive sampling. Data collection in the research utilized two instruments: a critical thinking skills test consisting of 10 essay questions adjusted to the critical thinking skill indicators according to Ennis and a learning outcomes test consisting of 20 multiple-choice questions adjusted to the cognitive dimension indicators of Bloom's revised taxonomy according to Anderson & Krathwohl. Data on critical thinking skills and student learning outcomes were analyzed descriptively, and prerequisite tests were conducted using the Kolmogorov-Smirnov normality test and simple linearity tests. The relationship between critical thinking skills and student learning outcomes was tested using the product-moment correlation test, and the results obtained indicate a very strong and positive relationship between critical thinking skills and learning outcomes. This research is expected to provide insight to educators in their efforts to enhance students' critical thinking skills.

Abstract

This research aims to describe the literature review on the direct instruction model in Biology education, assessing its efficiency and relevance in contemporary learning settings. The research method employed is Systematic Literature Review (SLR). The data sources for this study are articles from national research journals published within the last 7 years, spanning from 2018 to 2024. The research stages in this literature review consist of 6 stages, namely research topic selection, literature search, article reduction, article display, discussion, and conclusion. The findings indicate that the direct instruction model, particularly in practical-based learning, has a positive and effective impact on students' learning outcomes and scientific process skills in the field of Biology.
