Abstract

The advancement of information technology has significantly impacted daily life, including the development of smart devices such as smartwatches. Smartwatches are multifunctional devices capable of connecting to the internet and interacting with various electronic devices. However, the vast number of available options makes it difficult for consumers to choose the right smartwatch. This research proposes a web-based Decision Support System (DSS) utilizing the Weighted Product (WP) method to assist consumers in selecting the most suitable smartwatch. The WP method employs a weighted multiplication of ratings for each attribute to generate objective recommendations. Data collection was carried out through literature studies, questionnaires, and interviews. System analysis and design were followed by system testing using expert judgment, black-box testing, and the System Usability Scale (SUS). The evaluation results indicated that the DSS using WP achieved a 100% success rate in black-box testing, an SUS score of 75.25 (categorized as good), and expert judgment scores of 3.25, 3.5, and 3.75 (valid category). These results confirm that the proposed DSS is feasible for smartwatch selection.

Abstract

The advancement of information technology compels small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs), particularly in service sectors, to adopt digital solutions to improve operational efficiency. OSDIG Store, a smartphone repair service specializing in Apple devices, faces several issues, including manual service tracking, inefficient data management, and lack of structured inventory and financial records. This study aims to develop a web-based information system tailored to the operational workflow of OSDIG Store. The system was built using the Waterfall development methodology, which includes requirements analysis, system design, implementation, and testing. Key features developed include customer data management, repair tracking, inventory control, and transaction logging. Functional testing was conducted using the Black Box method, while user experience evaluation utilized the User Experience Questionnaire (UEQ). The test results indicate that the system meets functional requirements and delivers positive user experience scores in attractiveness and efficiency dimensions. The implementation of this system streamlines daily operations, reduces service errors, and improves transparency between service providers and customers. This research contributes a practical software solution for SMEs in the service sector and demonstrates the applicability of structured software engineering practices in real-world microbusiness contexts.

Abstract

This mixed‐methods study explores how undergraduate students in an Applied Digital Business program identify and develop innovation ideas, the barriers they encounter, and the institutional support they require. Survey and interview data reveal a consistent pattern: while most students recognise digital knowledge as critical for ideation, many struggle to transform concepts into validated prototypes, citing technical gaps and uncertainty over business‑model design. Technology trends and shifts in user behaviour emerge as the dominant catalysts for idea generation, yet diagnosing meaningful real‑world problems remains a central challenge. Qualitative insights highlight the need for structured mentoring, live market exposure, and interdisciplinary collaboration. The paper proposes three curricular interventions—studio‑based prototyping, an external mentor pool, and validation sandboxes with local SMEs—to bridge the ideation–execution divide. These findings enrich the discourse on student innovation capability and offer practical guidance for higher‑education programmes aiming to cultivate applied digital entrepreneurship.
