Abstract

The formation of student character is a crucial issue that requires a comprehensive solution. One promising approach is through multicultural education. Multicultural education is very important to shape the character of students regarding the importance of harmony and mutual respect in diversity. This education emphasizes a comprehensive understanding of various cultures, so that it can create attitudes of tolerance, empathy and appreciation for differences. This education is not only limited to the transfer of knowledge, but also the formation of thought patterns, attitudes and actions that are based on national values. By instilling a strong national awareness, multicultural education aims to form individual characters who not only have academic competence, but also have integrity, tolerance and a high sense of love for the country. Through a literature review, this research will explain further the role of multicultural education strategies in building student character.

Abstract

Shontengan is a tradition that still continues among the Pragaan Laok community, where the belief in the Mortandek well guard is still inherent and attracts people to continue making offerings every time they hold a wedding. The aim of this research is to draw out and determine the laws of existing offering practices through the lens of Islamic law.This research uses a qualitative method with a descriptive approach, so that all forms of data obtained will be described in narrative form. The data source in this research uses primary data sources such as interview results, observation and documentation. while secondary sources are through literature related to legal studies on offerings. Then, this research was analyzed using data reduction, data presentation and drawing conclusions. The results of this research are: 1) people's thoughts on the practice of shontengan because they are afraid of the impacts that will be experienced after the wedding event, such as physical and non-physical disturbances. 2) Islamic law does not condone the practice of offering offerings because the action has the nuances of shirk (associating partners with God) and there is also the activity of wasting wealth (tabdzir).

Abstract

Awal mula pendidikan di Indonesia berawal dari Sekolah Rakyat yang didirikan oleh Belanda pada masa penajahan. Tujuan penelitian ini untuk mengingat sejarah terbentuknya Sekolah Dasar yang bermula dari Sekolah Rakyat. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode kepustakaan (library reseach) dengan sumber data primer yaitu sejarah Sekolah Rakyat. Sumber data sekunder diperoleh dari literature baik dari buku, jurnal, website yang releva. Hasil penelitian ini yaitu: Sejarah terbentuknya Sekolah Rakyat tidak lepas dari politik etis da ambisi Belanda dalam meningkatkan kekayaan di Indonesia. Sekolah Rakyat didirikan oleh Belanda pada Tahun 1907 pada setiap daerah yang berhasil dikuasaai oleh Belanda. Sekolah Rakyat didirikan atas swadaya masyarakat baik dari biaya pembangunan dan juga gurunya. Pendidikan ini awalnya ditempun selama 3 tahun namun saat penjajahan diganti oleh Jepang, berubah menjadi 6 tahun. Perkembangan Sekolah Rakyat semakin pesat pada saat penjajahan Jepang sampai dengan kemerdekaan yang kemudian diganti menjadi Sekolah Dasar.  Beberapa kontribusi Sekolah Rakyat bagi pendidikan di Indonesia yaitu: membangun pendidikan di Indonesia, memberikan kesempatan bagi masyrakat untuk mempelajari ilmu umum, dan menjadi pelopor pendidikan gratis yang dikelola oleh pemerintah.

Abstract

Today’s education aims at creating lifelong learners. Therefore, education emphasizes creating independent students who can regulate their own learning. Through case study design, this present study was intended to seek in-depth information about teaching quality dimensions that promote self-regulated learning to the primary age students at one English learning community, Rita Home Library. The data was obtained through interviews and observation from both teachers and students. The data was analyzed by coding and theme analysis. The findings showed that setting challenging goal and task; engaging students in learning through metacognitive strategy; implementing clear rules and procedures; managing disciplinary and providing clear deadline; providing meaningful feedback; seeing mistake as a part of learning; being care and open to student’s need and emotion were found to be the predictors of teaching quality that were promoted by the teacher to the primary students at Rita Home Library.

Abstract

One of the mandatory tasks for students is to carry out research. Research can be said to be successful if the student understands every element in research subsections such as theoretical studies and hypotheses and is able to complete it in accordance with the regulations for scientific writing at each higher education institution where the student studies. The aim of this research is to find out the meaning, benefits and use of theoretical studies and hypotheses in research. The results of this research show that: 1) the definition of theoretical studies is a collection of theories or theoretical points taken from relevant sources in order to serve as the main reference for the phenomenon or problem being raised, while the definition of a hypothesis itself is an answer that is temporary in nature. needs to be tested for truth, 2) The benefit of theoretical studies can be a reference in developing research, can be a reference in determining criteria or as material for verifying research results, while the benefit of having a hypothesis is that it can provide direction in determining or interpreting data, can be a reference for procedures about what that must be done and collected and is useful in order to draw conclusions. 3) The steps for studying theory and hypotheses are the same, namely by reading a lot and studying research, only in determining the theoretical study it must be formulated with the problem/phenomenon being raised.

Abstract

Menentukan perilaku karakter, khususnya karakter utama dalam novel “RAPUH” karya Onlymeilanii, merupakan tujuan dari penelitian psikologi sastra dalam karya sastra. pergulatan internal dan rasa trauma yang dimiliki orang dengan dirinya sendiri, yang sering dikenal sebagai masalah internal individu.  Metode kualitatif digunakan dalam penelitian ini.  Platform penulisan digital Wattpad adalah sumber data yang dikumpulkan oleh para peneliti.  Penelitian ini menggunakan teori keterikatan Bowlby dan juga teori Sigmund Freud.  Menurut temuan penelitian, pengalaman trauma yang dialami oleh protagonis berasal dari keluarganya sendiri dan juga berasal dari kekasihnya. Dalam teori Sigmund Freud ditemukan 9 kasus dan lebih mengarah pada kasus id.

Abstract

The digital transformation era has revolutionized education, emphasizing the need for innovative teaching methods. This study explores the integration of Google Sites as a platform for delivering vocabulary course instructions to address challenges such as demotivation, inefficiency, and lack of accessibility in traditional methods. Conducted with 36 undergraduate students from teaching training and education faculty at Nusa Cendana University, the research employed pre-test and post-test evaluations to measure the impact of the platform. Key features of the developed Google Site include multimedia elements, interactive quizzes, and collaborative tasks tailored to enhance engagement and learning outcomes. Results indicate a significant improvement in students' vocabulary proficiency, as evidenced by a statistically significant difference in pre-test and post-test scores (t=-9.6152, p less than 0.05. A large absolute value signals a very strong effect. The findings highlight the potential of Google Sites to transform vocabulary instruction by fostering motivation, accessibility, and effective learning.

Abstract

Juvenile delinquency includes behaviour that deviates from the norms of criminal law committed by adolescents. Such as brawls, bullying, motorbike gangs, and drugs. Many factors that cause juvenile delinquency need to be considered, especially this brawl which has several factors. The negative impact caused by this brawl action. The purpose of this study is to determine the causal factors and the impact of brawls on adolescent morality. This research uses a qualitative method. By collecting data from interviews, and various sources from journals. The results of this study indicate that there are factors, impacts, and solutions or efforts for the brawl action. The impact of brawls that cause moral decline in adolescents, where a decrease in one's character in various aspects. So that the role of parents and families in shaping children's character is needed. Because it is in the family that children get education for the first time, it is very important that parents instil moral education early on. It is not only schools that have the responsibility for children's moral education, but parents must also take responsibility.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis strategi penerjemahan dan tingkat keterbacaan teks wisata tentang Tugu Pahlawan Surabaya pada website Batiqa One. Teks promosi pariwisata digital harus menyampaikan informasi secara akurat dan mudah dipahami lintas budaya. Penelitian ini menggunakan model konseptual komparatif dengan teori strategi penerjemahan dari Newmark (1988), Baker (2011), dan Hoed (2006), serta penilaian kualitas terjemahan dari Nababan et al. (2012) yang mencakup akurasi, penerimaan, dan keterbacaan. Hasil menunjukkan bahwa dari 12 strategi, 11 digunakan, dengan transferensi dan parafrasa sebagai strategi yang paling sering dipakai. Secara umum, terjemahan tergolong akurat dan diterima, meskipun beberapa istilah lokal tidak diberi penjelasan tambahan yang diperlukan bagi pembaca asing. Untuk meningkatkan keterbacaan dan pemahaman lintas budaya, disarankan penggunaan kalimat yang lebih sederhana, penambahan glosarium, dan deskripsi istilah lokal. Penelitian ini memberikan kontribusi terhadap pengembangan teks wisata digital yang efektif dan inklusif.

Abstract

The objectives of this research are to investigate the difficulties faced by the students’ and the factors of causing the students’ difficulties in reading comprehension at the eighth grade of MTs Ash-Salihin. This research used mixed methods; research data analysis used quantitative and qualitative methods. The research subjects were thirty-two students. To collect information for this research, researcher used questionnaire and conducted interview. The findings show that students experience difficulties in reading comprehension, including determining main idea, making inference, detail information, and understanding vocabulary. Besides, the factors of causing the students difficulties in reading comprehension are students’ background knowledge, teacher’s technique, and students’ environment. The implications of this research are the teacher need to pay attention to the challenges that students face when they read materials written in English. Teacher can use acceptable, appropriate, and easily understandable teaching strategies for students if they are aware of the many challenges and the variables contributing to them.
