Abstract

This study aims to develop starch-based bioplastics using sago starch with the addition of Microfibrillated Cellulose (MFC) and Refuse-Derived Fuel (RDF) fillers to enhance mechanical properties and material sustainability. Sago starch was selected as the base material due to its biodegradability, while MFC derived from empty palm oil fruit bunches served as a structural reinforcement, and RDF was introduced as an additional filler sourced from processed organic and inorganic waste. The bioplastic production process involved starch gelatinization, mixing with MFC and RDF solutions, addition of sorbitol as a plasticizer, casting, and natural drying. Characterization included morphological analysis and mechanical testing. Results showed that the sago starch+MFC bioplastic exhibited a more homogeneous surface morphology and superior mechanical properties, with a maximum tensile strength of 10.6 MPa and elongation at break of 5.7%. The addition of RDF increased material density but reduced homogeneity and toughness, with fracture energy per volume drastically decreasing from 488.28 kJ/m³ to 41.15 kJ/m³. Overall, the combination of sago starch and MFC offered better mechanical performance, while RDF addition requires optimization to maintain structural integrity. This innovation supports waste utilization and promotes circular economy principles in the development of environmentally friendly materials.

Abstract

Furnaces in the production of VCM (Vinyl Chloride Monomer) must be operated with optimal efficiency to maximize production and minimize the formation of impurities (coke). Furnace efficiency is evaluated based on the ratio of heat generated from fuel combustion to heat absorbed by the EDC (Ethyl Dichloride) fluid, and is a key indicator of operational feasibility. In addition, the pressure difference of the inlet convection and outlet radiant sections is used as an additional parameter, where an increase in this value reflects the accumulation of deposits in the tubes. If the efficiency drops below the minimum operating conditions or the pressure difference between the convection inlet and outlet radiant section exceeds 4 kg/cm2G, the furnace is considered unfit for operation and decoking must be performed, which will increase operating costs. During the 12 days of monitoring (measurement every 8 hours), the average efficiency was 85.370%, the highest value was 87.348%, and the lowest value was 83.764%. The efficiency values tended to fluctuate and were below the minimum operating condition (88.898%). This is due to changes in operating conditions and manual control. Therefore, although the pressure difference is still below the threshold of 4 kg/cm2G, the furnace is considered unfit for operation.

Abstract

The rapid growth of technology has revolutionized education, making it possible to incorporate technology into teaching and learning. Technology serves as a versatile learning medium, encompassing interactive learning materials, educational games, practice exercises, and comprehensive lessons accessible through various Android-based devices. In contrast, traditional classroom instruction often relies on textbooks, lectures, and examples, resulting in a less engaging and monotonous learning experience. The objective of this research is to develop innovative and efficient learning media that foster increased student interest and understanding, particularly in the realm of computer networks within the informatics curriculum. This research utilizes the R&D framework to produce and test educational materials. The development process consists of nine stages: Needs Analysis, Design Planning, Design Implementation, Testing, Expert Validation, Media Revisions, School-Based Feasibility Testing, and Media and Product Improvement. This media game is designed with three different levels of difficulty, each covering different computer network material, namely basic computer networks, IP addresses, and types of computer networks. The research outcomes demonstrate that the the development of android based computer network educational game learning media has succeeded in offers easy accessibility. This interactive game-based learning tool enables students to engage in both play and learning of computer network technology in a more enjoyable and effective manner. Moreover, it provides numerous advantages for teachers, including increased student interest in learning and a more interactive and engaging classroom environment.

Abstract

Jalan tol merupakan infrastruktur vital yang berperan penting dalam memperlancar mobilitas serta distribusi barang dan jasa. Namun, penyesuaian tarif dan keterbatasan informasi seringkali menyulitkan pengguna dalam merencanakan perjalanan. Penelitian ini bertujuan merancang dan membangun sistem simulasi tarif tol berbasis web dengan fitur visualisasi rute dan golongan kendaraan. Metode penelitian menggunakan pendekatan prototyping dengan tahapan pengumpulan data, perancangan basis data, dan implementasi menggunakan framework Laravel, MySQL, serta OpenStreetMap sebagai peta interaktif. Sistem yang dibangun memungkinkan pengguna memilih gerbang masuk, gerbang keluar, dan golongan kendaraan untuk memperoleh estimasi tarif dan jarak perjalanan secara otomatis. Hasil pengujian menggunakan metode Black Box menunjukkan bahwa sistem berfungsi sesuai kebutuhan fungsional, baik dari sisi admin dalam mengelola data maupun pengguna dalam melakukan simulasi. Dengan adanya fitur visualisasi rute, pengguna dapat memahami jalur perjalanan secara lebih jelas. Sistem ini mampu memberikan informasi tarif dan rute dengan cepat, akurat, dan mudah diakses sebagai kontribusi penerapan teknologi digital pada sektor transportasi.

Abstract

The Internet of Things (IoT) is a concept where various physical devices can connect to the internet and communicate with each other to collect, share, and analyze data.. This technology has developed rapidly and been applied in various fields, including water quality monitoring and flood early warning systems. This research aims to study building innovations as a water quality monitoring and flood early warning system based on the Internet of Things (IoT). Sensors as measuring physical or environmental parameters, such as temperature, humidity, pH, and water level, Actuators are devices that perform actions based on received data, and networks serve as the infrastructure connecting IoT devices for data communication, such as MQTT or CoAP And platforms as systems that manage and analyze data collected from various sensors. These IoT components are expected to monitor water quality parameters, integrate data and provide early warnings in case of significant changes in water quality or potential flooding

Abstract

Water pollution due to human activities causes high levels of household wastewater called greywater. To reduce the impact of water pollution from greywater, wastewater needs to be processed to be safer for the environment. By utilizing technology and independent energy sources from Photovoltaics, a system was created that can purify wastewater and can be controlled and monitored using the Internet of Things. The research entitled "Monitoring and Control System for Photovoltaic Powered Greywater Purifiers Based on the Internet of Things (IoT)" aims to monitor and control water to obtain processed wastewater that produces cleaner water quality. This system can monitor battery charging for pump sources on filters in real time using IoT integrated with an Android application. The way this tool works is by utilizing the ESP8266 nodeMCU as a communication intermediary, Arduino as the tool control center, relays for control, voltage sensors to detect battery and pump voltage, ACS712 sensors to detect charging and pump currents, turbidity and pH sensors to detect water conditions. The results of this research are that the system can monitor water conditions, voltage, and pump current when filtering while controlling the pump based on water conditions, as well as monitoring the charging voltage and current from the PV to the battery.

Abstract

Aktivitas rekreasi kuliner di Sentra PKL Jl. KH. Ahmad Dahlan “Jombang Kuliner” merupakan pemicu lonjakan pergerakan pengunjung yang signifikan, memunculkan masalah krusial berupa kepadatan lalu lintas dan keterbatasan parkir. Mengingat minimnya kajian empiris tarikan pergerakan di kawasan kuliner kota kecil, penelitian ini bertujuan untuk memodelkan faktor pendorong tarikan serta merumuskan strategi pengelolaan mobilitas yang efektif. Metode penelitian menggunakan survei primer kuantitatif di lapangan, dengan data dianalisis melalui Analisis Regresi Linier Berganda untuk menguji pengaruh jumlah kendaraan pribadi, tujuan bersantai, ragam kuliner, dan lokasi strategis terhadap tarikan pergerakan. Hasil analisis menunjukkan karakteristik tarikan pergerakan memiliki pola kunjungan tertinggi pada malam hari (18.00–21.00 WIB) dan hari Minggu, dengan dominasi moda sepeda motor sampai 86%. Model tarikan yang dihasilkan mengonfirmasi bahwa Ragam Kuliner, Aktivitas Bersantai/Nongkrong, dan Luas Area Pelayanan Lapak adalah faktor dominan yang secara signifikan memengaruhi volume pengunjung. Penelitian ini memberikan kontribusi substansial berupa model empiris kuantitatif yang menjadi landasan ilmiah untuk perencanaan transportasi berbasis aktivitas rekreasi, memastikan kebijakan tata ruang dan manajemen lalu lintas dapat diterapkan secara presisi, efektif, dan berkelanjutan. Strategi yang direkomendasikan untuk pengelolaan mobilitas meliputi penataan sistem parkir, pengaturan arus lalu lintas, dan peningkatan fasilitas pedestrian
