Abstract

This study investigated the optimal use of wood species and molasses in cultivating Pleurotus ostreatus, commonly known as oyster mushroom. Previous studies have often neglected the specific impact of different wood media on mushroom yield, leading to inconsistent results in productivity. This study addresses these shortcomings by systematically evaluating the effects of wood species, including sengon, kapok, and teak, and adding molasses as a nutrient source. The methodology involved controlled experiments to assess growth parameters, including the duration of mycelial spread and the total number of fruiting bodies produced. The novelty of this study lies in the comprehensive approach of combining wood species selection with nutrient supplementation, which has not been extensively explored in previous studies. The results showed that sengon wood significantly increased fruiting body yield compared to kapok and teak, with an average of 12 fruiting bodies per bunch. This study not only provides insights into effective mushroom cultivation practices but also highlights the potential for increased productivity through strategic media selection and nutrient addition. Future benefits of this study include improved agricultural practices for mushroom farmers, leading to higher yields and better economic returns. These findings can serve as a basis for further studies aimed at optimizing mushroom cultivation techniques, ultimately contributing to sustainable agricultural development.

Abstract

The power breaker (PMT) in the transmission system functions as a load breaker both under normal circumstances and when a disturbance occurs. In July 2021 it was discovered that there was an SF6 gas leak at (PMT) bay Arjawinangun 2 at Gi Sunyaragi. Under these conditions an overhaul was carried out which in the implementation found several sources of causes of leaks such as scale and corrosion at the joints and packing conditions that were no longer flexible. Before the implementation and after the implementation of the overhoul, tests were carried out including: contact resistance testing, insulation resistance testing and after a series of tests were carried out, then an analysis of the test results was carried out and a voltage drop simulation was carried out using the Etap 12.6 software from a series of activities, 5 simulation results were obtained and concluded that the system is still within safe limits (up 5%, down 10% from the nominal voltage). As well as other tests such as isolation resistance and contact resistance are still included in the specified standard category, so it is concluded that the PMT bay Arjawinangun 2 is in good condition and safe to operate.

Abstract

One of the conductors of water flow is an open channel, which we often encounter for irrigation and drainage purposes. Flow velocity (V) in an open channel depends on several parameters, namely longitudinal slope, cross-sectional geometric elements and obstacles that occur along the channel. Longitudinal slopes and geometric elements can be directly measured in the field or planned. The resistance value varies greatly depending on several factors, for example the material used for the body of the channel and other obstacles such as the presence of vegetation along the channel (vegetation). The resistance value in the channel is expressed by a resistance coefficient number such as the Chezy, Strickler and Manning resistance coefficient. This research aims to determine the resistance coefficient value in open channels, which is influenced by vegetation. The channel roughness coefficient used is the Manning roughness coefficient (n). Observations were carried out on a prototype open channel made from river stone masonry with dimensions of base width = 0.3 m, height = 0.5 m and channel slope = 1 : 1 with vegetation variations of 0%, 25%, 50%, 75%, and 100% of the channel length. Flow velocity was measured using a Currentmeter with 5 measurements for each variation in vegetation percentage. From the results of the analysis and changes, it was found that there was a slowdown in the flow velocity along with an increase in the percentage of vegetation relative to the length of the channel. For normal channels/without vegetation, the value "n" = 0.025 is obtained which corresponds to Manning's "n" value for stone masonry channels. Meanwhile, for the percentage of growth of 25%, 50%, 75% and 100%, there is an increase in the "n" value respectively as follows; 0.031, 0.043, 0.058, and 0.062

Abstract

Asset monitoring at the Surakarta City Department of Education is still carried out manually by visiting all related institutions that receive financial aid. This activity is conducted daily every year and consumes a significant amount of labor, time, and costs, potentially leading to inefficiencies, data recording errors, and a lack of transparency in the asset reporting and monitoring processes. These issues can hinder decision-making processes related to asset management and reduce the accountability of relevant parties. This research aims to develop a web-based Asset Monitoring Information System using PHP and MySQL to enhance efficiency and transparency in asset management. The system development method used is the System Development Life Cycle (SDLC), which includes the stages of planning, needs analysis, design, implementation, and system testing. The results of this research show that the developed system can accelerate the asset management process, minimize data errors, and improve the accessibility and transparency of asset reporting. The system also facilitates real-time asset monitoring and simplifies the validation process by authorized personnel. The designed system is expected to improve operational efficiency and accountability in asset monitoring at the Surakarta City Department of Education.

Abstract

The cleanliness of chick coops is crucial, especially in large-scale poultry farms, as it directly affects the health and well-being of the chicks. Manual cleaning of coops can be very tiring and inefficient. This study aims to design and implement an automatic chick coop cleaning system based on a conveyor belt equipped with a DHT22 temperature sensor and an MQ-135 ammonia sensor, using an ESP32 module for automatic control and Internet of Things (IoT) integration. The results show that the system operates well, with temperature measurement errors ranging from 0% to 3,10% and ammonia measurements ranging from 7 to 40,00 ppm. To improve reliability, it is recommended to use sensors with higher accuracy and add an offline mode so the system can still function without an internet connectio

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengevaluasi performa Optical Character Recognition (OCR) dalam mengenali teks pada gambar plat nomor kendaraan yang diambil menggunakan kamera digital. Dataset yang digunakan terdiri dari 10 gambar plat nomor kendaraan dengan karakteristik gambar lalu lintas kendaraan, termasuk pencahayaan rendah, distorsi perspektif, noise, dan ukuran gambar yang kecil. Berbagai teknik perbaikan kualitas gambar diterapkan, seperti Contrast Limited Adaptive Histogram Equalization (CLAHE), Bilateral Filtering, Wavelet Denoising, Unsharp Masking, dan Super-Resolution GAN menggunakan bicubic interpolation. Pengukuran akurasi dilakukan menggunakan dua metrik utama, yaitu Character Accuracy Rate (CAR) dan Word Accuracy Rate (WAR), dengan nilai rata-rata masing-masing sebesar 96,91% dan 90,00%. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa metode perbaikan kualitas gambar mampu meningkatkan visibilitas karakter pada plat nomor, sehingga OCR dapat mengenali teks dengan akurasi tinggi meskipun terdapat noise dan distorsi pada gambar. Penelitian ini memberikan wawasan tentang efektivitas pipeline perbaikan gambar dan OCR pada kondisi lalu lintas kendaraan, serta menjadi landasan untuk pengembangan sistem pengenalan plat nomor yang lebih baik

Abstract

Penelitian ini menguji kualitas air minum isi ulang di beberapa depot air minum di kecamatan merjosari dengan memeriksa beberapa parameter fisikokimia, termasuk TDS (Total Dissolved Solids), pH, suhu, warna. Hasil uji menunjukkan bahwa beberapa parameter, seperti logam berat (Pb dan As), tidak terdeteksi, yang mengindikasikan bahwa air tersebut bebas dari kontaminasi berbahaya. Nilai TDS yang rendah menandakan sedikitnya zat terlarut dalam air, sementara pH air berada dalam kisaran normal, menunjukkan bahwa air tersebut tidak asam atau basa ekstrem. Suhu air juga terukur dalam rentang yang aman, tidak mempengaruhi kelarutan atau reaktivitas zat kimia dalam air. Warna air yang jernih menandakan tidak adanya partikel terlarut yang mencemari. Secara keseluruhan, hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa kualitas air dalam sampel yang diuji memenuhi standar yang aman untuk digunakan, dengan bebas dari kontaminasi logam berat dan mikroorganisme berbahaya.

Abstract

The problem of plastic waste, especially from PET bottles, continues to increase and prompts the need for innovation in processing waste into high-value products. One method used is the extrusion process, which can produce plastic ore from recycled plastic waste. This study aims to examine the effect of variations in screw speed and feeder speed in extruder machines on the characteristics of plastic ore yield. The material used was used PET plastic bottle flakes, while the cutting speed was kept constant throughout the process. Evaluation was conducted based on the ratio between screw and feeder speed to see the impact on the homogeneity, size, and shape stability of the plastic ore produced. The data combination with the range at screw speed (Ns) = 25 rpm; feeder speed (Nf) = 10 rpm appeared repeatedly and showed stable performance based on the observation test. This combination is most likely the optimal operating parameter. At a stable screw/feeder ratio of 2:1 to 2.5:1, the ore yield is more uniform and dimensional consistency is higher. The calculation results show that the ideal cutting speed is 132 rpm. The current extruder machine tool design set at only 140 rpm constant speed is too fast for this condition. Screw speed and feed rate affect the mass flow rate and melting temperature of the material. The cutting speed must be matched with the material output rate from the extruder to produce a consistent size of plastic ore. The results show that a balanced speed ratio provides a uniform size distribution and a more stable ore shape, while speed imbalance can give rise to product defects such as bubbles, rough surface, and non-uniform shape. The results of this research discussion show the importance of proper process parameter settings in extrusion systems to produce high-quality plastic ore from recycled materials.

Abstract

Salah satu kendala utama dalam implementasi jaringan 5G adalah biaya yang tinggi. Infrastruktur yang diperlukan untuk mendukung jaringan 5G jauh lebih kompleks dan mahal dibandingkan dengan 4G. Misalnya, untuk membangun satu menara 5G, penyedia layanan harus mengeluarkan biaya yang signifikan untuk perangkat keras dan perangkat lunak yang diperlukan, serta untuk lisensi frekuensi. Hal ini menjadi tantangan tersendiri bagi operator seluler, terutama di negara berkembang seperti Indonesia, di mana anggaran untuk pengembangan infrastruktur sering kali terbatas. Dalam konteks ini, penting untuk mempertimbangkan bagaimana biaya tersebut dapat diimbangi dengan manfaat yang diperoleh dari penerapan teknologi ini.Layanan 5G adalah layanan seluler yang mulai banyak diimplementasikan di Indonesia. Berdasarkan Kementerian Kominfo, penetrasi 5G di Indonesia sebesar 2,9 % pada 2023. Salah satu kendala dari implementasi jaringan 5G adalah besarnya biaya yang dibutuhkan dibandingkan teknologi 4G dan kecendrungan masyarakat Indonesia yang memakai layanan broadband hanya untuk keperluan hiburan dan mencari berita. Institusi pendidikan berpotensi menjadi sumber pendapatan lain dalam penggunaan jaringan 5G. Berdasarkan metode cost and benefit analysis, implementasi jaringan 5G di Politeknik Industri Petrokimia Banten layak dilakukan. Hal ini tercermin dari nilai Net Present Value (NPV) sebesar $727.028,2.

Abstract

The availability of materials and equipment plays a crucial role in ensuring the continuity and smoothness of the learning process, especially in practical activities. However, in its implementation, there are still obstacles in the form of the unavailability of systematic instruments to support the decision-making process in purchasing practical materials. As a result, there is often a shortage or out-of-stock of practical materials during the activity, which ultimately hinders the learning process. To overcome this problem, this study applies the Material Requirement Planning (MRP) method as a tool in the process of planning practical material needs. MRP is used to analyze material needs based on the practical activity schedule and the availability of existing stock, so that it can be known more accurately when the right time is to reorder. By implementing the Material Requirement Planning (MRP) method, the decision-making process becomes more structured and efficient. This allows laboratory managers or responsible parties to order practical materials in a timely manner, so that supplies are maintained and practical activities can take place without obstacles
