Abstract

Latar Belakang: Hipertensi merupakan penyakit kronis yang membutuhkan pengelolaan jangka panjang dan kemampuan pengendalian diri yang kuat. Salah satu faktor psikologis penting dalam manajemen hipertensi adalah personal control, yaitu keyakinan individu terhadap kemampuannya dalam memengaruhi kondisi kesehatannya. Memahami persepsi pasien terhadap aspek ini penting untuk merancang intervensi yang tepat. Tujuan: Menjelaskan persepsi pasien hipertensi mengenai personal control dalam mengelola penyakitnya. Metode: Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif interpretatif dengan metode fenomenologi. Data dikumpulkan melalui wawancara mendalam terhadap enam pasien hipertensi yang dipilih secara purposif. Wawancara dilakukan di Puskesmas dan rumah partisipan. Analisis tematik digunakan untuk mengidentifikasi pola makna dari narasi partisipan. Hasil: Ditemukan lima tema utama: (1) Persepsi kemampuan individu dalam mengontrol hipertensi, (2) Strategi pengendalian hipertensi, (3) Hambatan dalam mempertahankan kontrol diri, dan (4) Peran dukungan sosial dalam memperkuat personal control, (5) Persepsi Positif terhadap Penyakit. Pasien menunjukkan inisiatif seperti minum obat teratur, menjaga pola makan, dan memeriksakan kesehatan. Namun, stres emosional, beban peran domestik, dan keterbatasan layanan menjadi tantangan dalam mempertahankan kontrol diri. Simpulan: Personal control bersifat dinamis dan terbentuk melalui pengalaman sehari- hari serta dipengaruhi oleh faktor internal dan eksternal. Temuan ini mendukung integrasi model teoretik seperti Extended Common-Sense Model, Integrated Behavior Model, dan Dynamic Model of Illness Behavior. Intervensi keperawatan perlu mempertimbangkan dimensi emosional dan konteks sosial pasien.

Abstract

This study aims to observe various activities and identify the problems faced by the elderly residents at the UPTD Social Service Center for the Elderly in Binjai, under the Social Service Office of North Sumatra Province. The research employed a qualitative approach using in-depth interviews and direct observation with the elderly residents and social workers. Interviews were conducted with several elderly participants and staff members to obtain an overview of their daily activities, as well as their social, psychological, and health-related needs. Observations were carried out to directly examine the dynamics of activities and social interactions within the institution. The findings indicate that the elderly at the UPTD participate in various activities such as religious practices, light handicrafts, mild physical exercises, and social recreation, all of which aim to improve their quality of life and sense of togetherness. However, several issues were identified, including limited activity facilities, chronic health problems, feelings of loneliness, and a lack of emotional support from families. Based on the results of interviews and observations, it can be concluded that although the social services have been implemented quite well, there is still a need for improvement in psychosocial assistance, diversification of productive activities, and better health facilities.

Abstract

Learning style is a crucial factor in the learning process, contributing to the academic success of junior high school students. Each student has different learning styles, such as visual, auditory, or kinesthetic. This diversity requires teachers to design learning strategies that accommodate students' learning needs so that learning objectives can be optimally achieved. A mismatch between learning styles and teaching methods has the potential to reduce student motivation, engagement, and academic outcomes. Furthermore, issues arising in schools, such as limited media, lack of teacher training, and limited understanding of learning styles among students and parents, contribute to their implementation. Therefore, optimizing learning styles requires early identification of student learning characteristics, the use of varied learning media, active learning, and collaboration between schools and families. With appropriate, evidence-based strategies, implementing learning styles is expected to improve the quality of the learning process and the academic achievement of junior high school students in a more equitable and sustainable manner.

Abstract

Generation Z, often used as a quick coping strategy to relieve stress and enhance momentary comfort. This literature review aims to examine the relationship between excessive sugar intake and mood changes in Gen Z by synthesizing findings from previous studies. The results indicate that sugar consumption influences stress responses by reducing the activity of the Hypothalamic Pituitary Adrenal (HPA) axis and stimulating the brain’s reward pathways, including the release of dopamine and opioid neurotransmitters that create temporary feelings of pleasure. However, these effects are short-lived and do not contribute to long-term mood stabilization. Excessive sugar intake is also associated with emotional instability, depressive symptoms, emotional eating behavior, and long-term health risks such as obesity. Gen Z tends to consume sweet foods due to academic pressure, social influences, modern lifestyle patterns, and easy access to high-sugar products. Overall, sugar functions more as a temporary reward than a sustainable mood enhancer, highlighting the need for increased awareness and better regulation of sugar consumption among adolescents and young adults.

Abstract

This study examines students' psychological problems from an Islamic perspective, placing heart disease as the root of the problem and spiritual solutions as the primary approach to treatment. Various psychological problems experienced by students, such as anxiety, academic stress, low self-confidence, impaired emotional regulation, and social problems, are understood not only as psychological disorders but also as manifestations of spiritual and moral imbalance. This study uses a qualitative method with a library study approach through analysis of current literature relevant to Islamic psychology, Islamic counseling, and student mental health. The results of the study indicate that the integration of modern psychology with an Islamic spiritual approach through Islamic counseling, worship practices, tazkiyah an-nafs (religious devotion), and moral development can increase psychological resilience, reduce anxiety and stress levels, and strengthen students' mental and spiritual well-being. Teachers have a strategic role as Islamic counselors in building a holistic, balanced educational environment oriented towards the development of students' mental health and character.

Abstract

Role Stress is a significant psychological risk factor in industrial settings, potentially leading to reduced work performance and poor employee well-being. This study aimed to investigate the efficacy of a Coping Stress Training program as an intervention to reduce the level of role stress experienced by employees at PT. Metal Hitech Engineering. This research employed a quasi-experimental design using a one-group pretest-posttest approach. The participants were employees as PT. Metal Hitech Engineering who had been identified as having moderate to high levels of role stress. Role stress levels were measured using a validated questionnaire administered during the pre-test and post-test phases. The data obtained were analyzed using the Paired Sample T-Test to compare mean scores before and after the intervention. The statistical analysis revealed a significant decrease (P < 0.05) in the mean role stress scores in the post-test condition compared to the pre-test scores. This substantial reduction demonstrates that the Coping Stress Training was effective in mitigating role-related pressure and stress among the participants. The Coping Stress Training is proven to be an effective psychological intervention for reducing role stress in employees. These findings underscore the importance of integrating psychological-based stress management programs into organizational health and safety initiatives to maintain optimal employee function and productivity.

Abstract

Basic Trauma and Cardiac Life Support (BTCLS) is an advanced emergency training program required by healthcare professionals to enhance rapid response capability, critical decision-making, and initial stabilization of disaster victims. In earthquake-prone areas, these competencies are essential due to the high risk of mass casualties and the limited time available for lifesaving interventions. This article aims to provide a comprehensive overview of the implementation of BTCLS training using disaster-based simulation as an effort to improve the rapid response of medical teams in earthquake-risk regions. This study applies the Arksey and O’Malley framework in conducting the analysis. The literature reviewed was obtained from PubMed, ScienceDirect, Scopus, CINAHL, and Taylor & Francis within the last five years. Identification and selection of articles followed the Preferred Reporting Items for Systematic Reviews and Meta-Analysis (PRISMA) Moher 2009 guidelines. A total of 10 eligible articles were analyzed, consisting of 7 quantitative studies, 2 quasi-experimental studies, and 1 scoping review. This article summarizes key findings regarding the effectiveness of BTCLS disaster-based simulation, including improvements in knowledge, technical skills, teamwork, preparedness, and self-confidence among healthcare personnel. Disaster simulation has been shown to create a realistic and safe learning environment, enhancing coordination and communication abilities during earthquake emergency scenarios. Overall, BTCLS simulation-based training strengthens both individual and collective capacity of medical teams to respond quickly and efficiently during disaster situations.

Abstract

This scoping review aims to synthesize empirical evidence on the association between perceived stress and immune function as examined within the framework of psychoneuroimmunology. Using PRISMA-ScR guidelines, four empirical studies published between 2016 and 2025 were selected from Semantic Scholar and PubMed. The review integrates evidence across various populations, including pregnant women, cancer patients, individuals with HPV infection, and healthy adults. Findings consistently show that high perceived stress is linked to measurable physiological changes, such as decreased immune gene expression, reduced T-cell and NK-cell activity, heightened systemic inflammation, microbiome imbalance, and accelerated immunosenescence. These results underscore that subjective psychological appraisal plays a central role in shaping biological vulnerability, demonstrating the interconnectedness of mental and physical health. The study highlights the importance of psychological interventions, such as cognitive restructuring, coping enhancement, and stressmanagement training to protect immune health. Future research should incorporate culturally relevant psychological factors and immune biomarkers to deepen understanding within the field of health psychology.

Abstract

This study aims to find out about the application of risk management at SMK Mondoroko which includes determining the risk context, conducting a risk assessment consisting of Risk Identification, Risk analysis, and Risk Evaluation and determining mitigation in the learning process. This study uses a qualitative method approach with an exploratory analysis level that has been adapted to the stages in the risk management process from the ISO 31000:2018 framework on Risk Management Standards. Data was collected by observation, documentation and interviews with expert sampling. The results showed that risk analysis in the learning process at SMK Mondoroko was viewed from 4 categories, namely the student category, the teacher category, the curriculum category and the academic environment category. Based on these four categories, 29 risks were identified in the risk assessment process and had a significant impact sequentially, namely the curriculum category was handled through link and match curriculum synchronization with DUDI, the student category was handled through the application of work based learning (WBL) methods, the teacher category handling is carried out through the implementation of the industrial apprentice teacher program and the academic environment category is handled through the management and procurement of workshop equipment in accordance with the latest technology.

Abstract

The rapid growth of digital technology has brought many benefits to daily life; however, excessive use may also lead to psychological pressure known as digital stress. One of the most frequently reported consequences of digital stress is sleep disturbance. This article aims to review the relationship between digital stress and sleep problems through a structured narrative review. Relevant studies were identified using Google Scholar and ScienceDirect databases with keywords related to digital stress, sleep quality, screen time, blue light exposure, and social media use. The search was limited to articles published within the last five years and selected based on predefined inclusion and exclusion criteria, resulting in ten eligible studies for analysis. The findings indicate that digital stress contributes to poor sleep quality through several main factors, including compulsive and excessive use of digital devices, information and social media overload, and nighttime exposure to blue light. Digital stress appears to function as a psychological mechanism that links excessive digital exposure with sleep disturbances. These results highlight the importance of healthy digital habits and balanced technology use as part of efforts to maintain sleep quality and overall psychological well-being.
