Abstract

Efforts are necessary to mitigate students' limited understanding of and difficulty in learning about Protista via Student Worksheets (LKS). The creation of such worksheets can be achieved by integrating Protista identification into the surrounding environment. The objective of this research is to identify Protista in the environment of SMA N 42 Jakarta and Universitas Kristen Indonesia as educational resources. Additionally, this study aims to describe the results of the Student Worksheet (LKS), which underwent validation by both validators and students. The research utilized field exploration and development methods. The identification of pond water samples yielded four species: two microalgae and two protozoa. The results of this identification were developed in the LKS uploaded on the ResearchGate link, namely https://bit.ly/LKSprotistaradeetal. The worksheet underwent validation by three reviewers and was deemed feasible with a score above 75%. Additionally, the student feedback was largely positive, with an approval rate exceeding 70%. Thus, the Protista Diversity LKS is expected to be a groundbreaking tool for advancing biodiversity and classification education in 10th-grade classrooms.

Abstract

Metacognitive skills are one of the skills that can influence people's lives and ways of thinking regarding self-management. This research aims to describe students' metacognitive abilities, especially in class XI biology subjects at Nahdlatul Wathan Mataram High School, which consists of classes XI MIA and XI IIS. Data collection was carried out using a questionnaire by looking at metacognitive skills from three aspects, namely planning, monitoring and evaluation. Based on these three aspects, it shows that class XI students at NW Mataram High School do not have low category metacognitive skills or are not well developed. Based on the results of the questionnaire scoring, it was found that on average students answered sometimes or never. This shows that their awareness of planning, monitoring and evaluating their learning process is very low and of course this also has an impact on learning outcomes. This is what requires teachers to be able to implement learning that can develop students' metacognitive skills, so that learning outcomes will increase.

Abstract

Forests are one of the natural resources that can be utilized in the form of both wood and non-wood forest products. Harvesting carried out to extract wood results in negative impacts such as soil damage and damage to standing stands. The negative impacts of wood harvesting can be reduced by planning in advance, such as creating a forest road network. The research was carried out in the mahogany room, utilization division, forest management department, while the assessment of the forest road network used the case study of PT Inhutani I Lebanan. The aim of the research is to examine the planning and selection of the best alternative forest road network for harvesting wood using multi-criteria decision making techniques. The research will be carried out in March 2023. The research stage begins with sketching the road network; assess road networks using economic, ecological and technical criteria; as well as conducting literature studies from various sources. The research results show that there are six alternative forest road networks for harvesting wood. This is based on forest road network assessment parameters that the best alternative road network in the PT Inhutani I Labanan road scheme is the 6th road network alternative. Sustainable management of forest resources can be achieved through a well-planned road network. The highest total utility value (rank 1) is found on the 6th road network which is the best alternative forest road network to be implemented at PT Inhutani Labanan I both in terms of technical aspects, ecological aspects and economic aspects.

Abstract

News of the water crisis can be found all over the world, including Indonesia. Unfortunately, the knowledge of the younger generation about the importance of springs, including Ndhas Gendhing, is still low because the knowledge is passed on orally rather than in writing. Indigenous knowledge about Ndhas Gendhing is still maintained by the people of Sukorejo Village. The aim of this research is to study Ndhas Gendhing Spring using ethnoecological principles. The research method was field research. There are four types of plants that have the potential to protect the Ndhas Gendhing spring, namely Preh (Ficus macrocarpa), Ringin (Ficus benjamina), Pring Jawa (Gigantochloa atter), and Pring Petung (Dendrocalamus asper). There are nine aquatic animal species found in the water source, namely Lele lokal (Clarias batrachus), Wader (Rasbora argyrotaenia), Peto (Aplocheilus armatus), Nila (Oreochromis niloticus), Yuyu (Parathelphusa convexa), Melem (Rasbora caudimaculata), Kotes (Channa limbate), Deleg (Channa striata), dan Pelus (Anguilla sp.). Based on the physical and chemical characteristics, the water is odorless and clear. The average pH was 6.92, with an average TDS of 117.6 ppm. This means that the water condition is in the excellent category. The abundant water can be used for daily needs such as bathing, washing clothes, and PDAM drinking water. In fact, there are special rituals such as padusan and kungkum. It is hoped that the younger generation's awareness of the existence of the Ndhas Gendhing spring will support sustainable water security.
