Abstract

This study aims to analyze the digital adaptation strategies implemented by Muslimat NU in Medan City. The rapid advancement of digital technology has transformed communication patterns in society, compelling religious organizations to adapt while maintaining moderate Islamic values. Using a qualitative descriptive approach, data were collected through in-depth interviews, observations, and documentation involving administrators and members of Muslimat NU Medan, selected through purposive sampling. The findings indicate three main strategies: the utilization of social media as a medium for da’wah and organizational communication, the enhancement of members’ digital literacy, and intergenerational collaboration in managing digital platforms. Several challenges were identified, including limited digital literacy among members, human resource constraints, and suboptimal content management. Despite these obstacles, digital media has proven effective in strengthening organizational communication, expanding the reach of da’wah, and supporting cadre development. The contribution of this study lies in its focus on Islamic women’s organizations in non-NU stronghold regions, particularly Medan City, which presents distinct socio-religious characteristics compared to NU-based areas in Indonesia. These insights highlight how Muslimat NU navigates digital transformation while preserving cultural and religious identity, offering valuable implications for the broader discourse on religious organizations and digital adaptation.

Abstract

The development of digital technology presents both opportunities and challenges for early childhood. Increased use of devices without adequate guidance has the potential to lead to digital addiction, exposure to age-inappropriate content, cyberbullying, and impaired social-emotional development. This study aims to analyze the application of character education and patterns of digital media use in early childhood, formulate a curriculum integration model based on character education and healthy digital habits, and examine its implementation in building children's resilience against the negative impacts of digital media. The study used a qualitative descriptive approach with observation, interview, and documentation techniques. Informants consisted of early childhood education teachers, parents, and children aged 4–6 years in Cikedokan Village, Bekasi Regency. Data were analyzed through data reduction, data presentation, and drawing conclusions using triangulation of sources and techniques. The results show that character education has been implemented in learning, but has not been systematically integrated with digital literacy. Children exhibited quite high intensity of device use with limited guidance. The developed integration model combines the values of discipline, responsibility, and empathy through screen time management, media use guidance, and healthy digital behavior habits. Implementation of the model contributed to improving children's ability to control device use and adapt to digital risks. These findings suggest that integrating character education and digital literacy into the early childhood education curriculum can strengthen children's resilience in the digital age

Abstract

Problem-solving is a foundational cognitive competency in early childhood development, yet many preschool-aged children exhibit limited capacity to manage interpersonal conflicts and task-related challenges independently. This study aimed to examine the development of problem-solving competencies in early childhood through storytelling-based learning at KB Nurul Athfal, Bekasi, Indonesia. A qualitative descriptive research design was employed, with purposive sampling yielding 20 children aged 3–4 years and 3 classroom teachers as participants. Data were collected through structured observations across six intervention sessions, semi-structured interviews with all three teachers, and documentary evidence. Data analysis followed the interactive model of Miles, Huberman, and Saldaña (2014), comprising data condensation, display, and conclusion drawing. Findings revealed meaningful improvements across four behavioral indicators of problem-solving: independent task-attempt behavior increased from 2 to 15 out of 20 children; turn-taking without adult prompting improved from 4 to 16 children; peer cooperation in group tasks increased substantially; and children demonstrated greater capacity to manage physical and academic setbacks. These results suggest that structured storytelling, particularly fable-based narratives emphasizing prosocial values, effectively scaffolds problem-solving and socioemotional development in early childhood. The findings contribute to the growing literature on narrative-based pedagogy in Indonesian early childhood education contexts

Abstract

Digital technology expansion presents both opportunities and significant risks for children, particularly regarding exposure to inappropriate content and harmful online interactions. Child protection in digital environments demands a comprehensive approach integrating religious, scientific, and policy dimensions. This study develops a multidisciplinary framework through three converging perspectives: Maqasid al-Shariah as a normative Islamic foundation, empirical findings from neuroscience and communication science on social media's impact on children's cognitive and psychosocial development, and Indonesian national regulations—particularly Permen Komdigi No. 9 of 2026 restricting social media access for children under 16 years. A qualitative design employing integrative literature review and thematic content analysis was adopted. Findings demonstrate that hifdz al-'aql (protection of intellect) and hifdz al-nasl (protection of progeny) are the most operationally relevant Maqasid principles for digital child protection. Scientific evidence consistently confirms negative impacts of excessive screen time on brain development and mental health, while state regulation provides the operational mechanism for enforcement. The integration of Islamic values and scientific evidence substantially strengthens regulatory legitimacy and effectiveness, creating dual normative and empirical foundations for a safe digital ecosystem for Muslim children in Indonesia

Abstract

This research is motivated by the importance of using interesting and interactive educational media to support the development of early childhood skills, especially fine motor skills. Busy Book is a learning media designed to create a fun learning atmosphere and increase children's motivation and enthusiasm in classroom activities. The purpose of this study was to test the effectiveness of using Busy Book on improving children's fine motor skills at KB Ainul Husna, Padang Panjang City. The study used a quantitative approach with a quasi-experimental design. The study population included 45 children, with a purposive sample of 24 children from grades B1 and B2. Data analysis was carried out through prerequisite tests, independent sample t-tests, and effect size calculations using SPSS 26.0 for Windows. The results showed that the experimental group using Busy Book experienced an increase in average scores from 32.08 to 45.33, while the control group using the collage method increased from 32.58 to 40.58. The t-test produced a significance value of 0.000, indicating a significant difference between the two groups. The effect size value of d = 2.22 indicates a very strong effect. Thus, the use of Busy Book media has proven effective in improving the fine motor skills of early childhood children at KB Ainul Husna in Padang Panjang City. The results of this study imply that Busy Book can be used as an effective and engaging alternative learning medium to stimulate fine motor skills in early childhood education activities.
