Abstract

This study examines the Prophet's hadiths on career women through an integrated approach: hadith authentication (takhrij), contextual interpretation (syarah), and the objectives of Islamic law (maqashid syariah). The background of this study is the tension between the textual understanding of hadith on the role of women and the increasing participation of Muslim women in professional careers. Previous studies have examined this issue separately from the perspective of Islamic law, psychological-sociological, or exegesis, without integrating these three methods of hadith science. Using a qualitative, literature-based design, this study analyzes seven thematic hadiths from Sahih al-Bukhari, Sahih Muslim, and Sunan Ibn Majah, supported by scientific literature from 2019–2024. The findings show: (1) hadiths on permission to leave the house, congregational prayer, and economic activities including the narration of Zainab bint Jahsy RA who was praised by the Prophet for working as a tanner have a valid chain of narration and allow and even praise women's participation in the public sphere; (2) contextual analysis through the principle of reconciliation (al-jam'u wa al-tawfiq) broadens the scope of interpretation for Muslim career women; (3) maqashid analysis proves that career activities support the five main objectives of sharia (al-daruriyyat al-khams). The novelty of this research lies in the integration of the three methods, which has never been done before

Abstract

This study aims to examine Imam al-Layth ibn Saʿd’s legal opinion on the permissibility of treating receivables as zakat and to analyze the jurisprudential foundations underlying his position. The research employs a qualitative library-based method using fiqh and uṣūl al-fiqh approaches through a systematic analysis of classical legal texts, authoritative works documenting al-Layth’s opinions, and contemporary literature on zakat and debt. The findings reveal that Imam al-Layth permits a creditor to discharge zakat obligations by cancelling receivables owed by poor or insolvent debtors, considering such debt forgiveness to effectively realize the objectives of zakat by alleviating the financial burden of eligible beneficiaries. His legal reasoning is primarily based on the principles of maṣlaḥah (public benefit) and the substantive equivalence between debt cancellation and direct zakat distribution, rather than a strict interpretation of tamlīk (transfer of ownership). The study concludes that al-Layth’s opinion represents a purposive approach to Islamic jurisprudence that emphasizes the realization of social justice and the objectives of zakat over formal legal procedures. This research contributes to Islamic legal scholarship by providing a comprehensive analysis of an alternative classical juristic opinion and offering a maqāṣid-based framework for contemporary discussions on zakat administration, debt relief, and Islamic social finance.

Abstract

Despite increasing interest in game-based learning, empirical evidence on its impact in Indonesian early childhood education (ECE) remains scarce, with prior studies lacking validated instruments and inferential analyses. This study employed a sequential exploratory mixed-methods design to examine the effect of educational game-based learning on six cognitive indicators—concept identification, classification, memory recall, problem-solving, logical reasoning, and symbolic representation—among children aged 5–6 years (n = 40) at Sabbihisma 2 Kindergarten, Padang. Qualitative data were collected through structured observation, semi-structured interviews, and documentation. Quantitative data were obtained using a 10-item observational rubric (4-point Likert scale; κ = .82) aligned with Indonesia’s national ECE developmental standard (STPPA). Mean cognitive scores increased from M = 36.8 (SD = 1.9) pre-intervention to M = 38.2 (SD = 1.4) post-intervention. A paired-samples t-test confirmed the improvement was statistically significant, t(39) = 3.21, p < .01. The proportion of children achieving the highest developmental category (BSB) rose from 75% to 90%. Qualitative findings corroborated enhanced engagement, logical reasoning, and problem-solving behaviors. Educational game-based learning significantly improved cognitive outcomes in ECE settings. Findings support institutionalizing structured game programs and investing in teacher professional development for technology-integrated pedagogy.

Abstract

This study examines the implementation of deep learning through the integration of digital interactive boards at TKIT Husnul Khotimah, Cikarang District, West Java. The use of interactive screen-based technology in early childhood education institutions is growing in line with the demands of the digital era, which encourages more innovative, interactive, and child-centered learning. The study used a descriptive qualitative approach with a case study method. Data were obtained through observation, in-depth interviews, and documentation involving the principal, class teachers, and students aged 4–6 years in the 2025/2026 academic year. The results showed that the implementation of digital interactive boards had a positive impact on the quality of the learning process. This media was able to create more interesting, interactive, and child-centered learning through the use of visual materials, audio, educational videos, and various interactive activities directly on the screen. Students showed increased attention, learning motivation, active participation, creativity, and conceptual understanding. In addition, teachers were helped in delivering material more effectively and variedly. Although there are still obstacles in the form of limited mastery of technology by some teachers and less than optimal use of device features, overall, the implementation of digital interactive boards has proven effective in supporting in-depth learning and improving the quality of early childhood education

Abstract

This study aims to examine the strategy of cultivating independence in children aged 5–6 years through the Essential Behavioral Habituation Method at Rainbow Kids Kindergarten, Cibitung District, Bekasi Regency, West Java. The novelty of this study lies in the use of the Essential Behavioral Habituation Method concept which emphasizes the internalization of the value of independence through consistent, structured, and continuous habituation in various children's daily activities. The study used a descriptive qualitative approach with a case study design. Data were collected through observation, in-depth interviews, and documentation, then analyzed using data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion drawing techniques. The results showed that the cultivation of independence was carried out through four forms of habituation, namely routine habituation, spontaneous habituation, role models, and programmed habituation. The implementation of this method encourages the development of children's abilities in self-care, obeying rules, making simple decisions, and being responsible for daily tasks and activities. Supporting factors for success include teacher consistency and a conducive school environment, while the main obstacles come from differences in family parenting patterns and a lack of continuity in habituation at home. Research findings show that the Essential Behavioral Habituation Method is effective as a strategy to strengthen the independence of early childhood through a gradual and continuous process of forming behavior

Abstract

This study examines the epistemological reconciliation between the concepts of reason in the Qur'an and the brain in modern neuroscience to develop a paradigm for contemporary Islamic education. As neuroscience increasingly illuminates the biological foundations of cognition, the challenge lies in integrating these findings with the Islamic understanding of reason as the primary instrument of human understanding. This study identifies reason in the Qur'an as a transcendental epistemological faculty that unites cognitive, moral, and spiritual dimensions, aiming at wisdom and God-consciousness, rather than merely a biological function. In contrast, neuroscience views the brain as the biological substrate of cognition through complex neural networks, with neuroplasticity emphasizing the brain's adaptive capacity. The comparative analysis reveals common functional roles in thinking, reflection, and decision-making, while highlighting key epistemological differences: neuroscience explains how cognition occurs, while the Qur'an explains why cognition exists and its ultimate purpose. This study proposes a Qur'anic Neuroepistemology Framework (QNF), which integrates revelation, reason, and the brain to promote holistic Islamic education that develops intellectual, moral, emotional, and spiritual intelligence while bridging the gap between religious knowledge and modern science

Abstract

Instilling a love for the environment from an early age is an important part of character building for children, but its implementation in early childhood education institutions still requires the support of interesting learning media, in accordance with the characteristics of child development, and able to connect environmental messages with meaningful learning experiences. This condition encourages the need to develop media that can facilitate interactive learning so that children can more easily understand and apply environmentally conscious behavior in everyday life. This study aims to develop story card media as a means to foster a love for the environment in early childhood in kindergartens in Cibitung District. The study used the Research and Development (R&D) method with the ADDIE model (Analysis, Design, Development, Implementation, and Evaluation). The subjects were children aged 5–6 years at Rainbow Kids Kindergarten and Husnul Khotimah Kindergarten. The results of expert validation showed a feasibility level of 98.6% for the material aspect and 85.3% for the media aspect, both of which are categorized as very valid. The practicality test by teachers obtained a score of 90% with a very practical category. The effectiveness test results showed an increase in environmental awareness, from 71% in the pre-test to 93% in the post-test. These findings demonstrate that story cards are valid, practical, and effective in fostering environmental awareness in children aged 5–6 years. This medium can also be an alternative for early childhood education teachers in integrating environmental awareness character education through engaging, contextual, and developmentally appropriate learning activities

Abstract

This study analyzes the educational thinking of Rahmah El Yunusiyah and her contribution to the transformation of Muslim women's education in Indonesia. Against the backdrop of limited access to education for Muslim women in the early 20th century due to patriarchal social and cultural constructs, Rahmah El Yunusiyah founded Diniyyah Puteri in 1923. She introduced an Islamic educational model that integrated religious knowledge, general knowledge, character building, and life skills, making her a significant pioneer. This study uses library methods with a historical and descriptive-critical approach. The findings show that Rahmah's thinking, shaped by the Minangkabau context, the Islamic renewal movement, and personal experience, focuses on women's empowerment through holistic and integrative education. Its implementation in Diniyyah Puteri includes a comprehensive curriculum, emphasizing character education, independence, and women's leadership. Rahmah's thinking has proven to be relevant both historically and contemporary, aligning with the challenges of the digital era, Society 5.0, and the achievement of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), particularly in realizing gender equality and sustainable development. Her intellectual legacy provides a crucial reference for the development of inclusive and progressive Islamic education.
