Abstract

The ability to use polite language is an important aspect in the social and communication development of early childhood. However, observations at a kindergarten in East Cikarang District indicate that children aged 5–6 years are still not accustomed to using polite expressions such as “please,” “sorry,” “excuse me,” and “thank you” in daily interactions. This study aims to develop the Magic Word Puzzle media as an innovative learning medium to improve the polite language skills of children aged 5–6 years. The study used the Research and Development (R&D) method with the ADDIE model which includes the stages of Analysis, Design, Development, Implementation, and Evaluation. The development process was carried out through media design, validation by material experts and media experts, and trial use of the media in early childhood. The results showed that the Magic Word Puzzle media received a very good rating from material experts and media experts, so it was declared suitable for use in learning. This media is designed interactively through puzzle-assembling activities integrated with the introduction and use of polite expressions in various daily situations. The novelty of this research lies in the development of educational puzzle media specifically focused on stimulating children’s polite language skills. Thus, the Magic Word Puzzle media is declared suitable and has the potential to be effective as an alternative learning media in developing polite language skills in children aged 5-6 years.

Abstract

Decision-making ability is an important aspect that needs to be developed from an early age because it plays a role in the formation of independence, responsibility, and self-confidence in children. This study aims to describe the application of the Choice Learning method in developing decision-making abilities in early childhood at Rainbow Kids Kindergarten. The study used a descriptive qualitative approach with the principal, class teachers, and children in group B as subjects. Data were collected through observation, interviews, and documentation. The results showed that the Choice Learning method was implemented by providing freedom to choose learning activities, opportunities to try new things, and habituating responsibility for the choices made. This approach has a positive impact on children's decision-making abilities, as seen from the increased courage to choose, self-confidence, independence, and responsibility in completing activities. Thus, Choice Learning effectively supports the development of decision-making abilities and the social-emotional development of early childhood.

Abstract

Religious moderation has become a strategic agenda in Indonesia's educational development, serving as a response to rising social polarization, intolerance, religious extremism, and the challenges of diversity in the digital age. This study aims to reconstruct the paradigm of religious moderation by integrating maqāṣid al-sharī‘ah (the objectives of Islamic law) with national education policy from a juridico-pedagogical perspective, employing a qualitative approach based on a literature review. Data were gathered from contemporary Islamic legal literature, religious moderation policy documents, national education regulations, and studies on Islamic education and multiculturalism; these were analyzed using content analysis, comparative analysis, and conceptual synthesis. The research findings indicate that the fundamental values of maqāṣid al-sharī‘ah namely the preservation of religion (ḥifẓ al-dīn), life (ḥifẓ al-nafs), intellect (ḥifẓ al-‘aql), lineage (ḥifẓ al-nasl), and property (ḥifẓ al-māl) align with the goals of the national education system as outlined in Law Number 20 of 2003. The study proposes a new conceptual framework the Integrative Religious Moderation Paradigm which synergizes maqāṣid al-sharī‘ah principles, national values, character education, and inclusive education to address the challenges of a 21st-century multicultural society. These findings offer a theoretical contribution to the study of religious moderation and a practical contribution to the formulation of education policies that foster a more inclusive, tolerant, and civilized society in Indonesia

Abstract

Financial performance of Islamic banking serves as a crucial indicator in assessing the health and sustainability of financial institutions operating under Islamic principles. This study aims to analyze the effect of liquidity ratio and solvency ratio on the financial performance of PT Bank Syariah Indonesia (BSI) during the 2023 - 2025 period. A descriptive quantitative approach was employed using secondary data derived from BSI's quarterly financial statements published through the Financial Services Authority (Otoritas Jasa Keuangan/OJK). The sample consisted of 12 observation periods, selected using a saturated sampling technique. Data were analyzed using multiple linear regression, accompanied by classical assumption tests (normality, multicollinearity, autocorrelation, and heteroscedasticity). The results indicate that, partially, the liquidity ratio had no significant effect on financial performance (sig. = 0.369 > 0.05), whereas the solvency ratio had a significant effect (sig. = 0.025 < 0.05). Simultaneously, both ratios significantly influenced BSI's financial performance (sig. = 0.044 < 0.05), with an R² value of 50.1%. These findings imply that long-term capital management plays a more dominant role in determining BSI's financial performance compared to short-term liquidity management.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze how zakat is implemented as an instrument for the economic empowerment of Muslims through the BAZNAS of North Sumatra Province. It also explores the extent to which productive zakat contributes to improving the standard of living of beneficiaries, and maps the obstacles faced by beneficiaries when developing their productive businesses. This research is motivated by the persistently high level of poverty, which requires sustainable economic empowerment efforts. From an Islamic economic perspective, zakat plays a strategic role as an instrument for distribution and economic empowerment when managed productively. The study used a qualitative method with a descriptive approach. Data were obtained through observation, interviews, and documentation at BAZNAS of North Sumatra Province. The research findings show that the distribution of productive zakat by BAZNAS North Sumatra has a positive impact on the welfare of beneficiaries, particularly through assistance with business capital, mentoring, and business equipment support. This assistance has been proven to encourage business development, increase income, and help meet the educational and economic needs of beneficiary households. However, several obstacles remain, including limited marketing reach, intense business competition, and rising production costs that have the potential to disrupt the continuity of beneficiary businesses. Therefore, strengthening mentoring, expanding market access, and developing business networks are necessary to increase the effectiveness of productive zakat programs in a sustainable manner.

Abstract

Stigma and discriminatory treatment of people with disabilities still frequently occur in educational settings, ranging from negative labeling, exclusion from learning activities, to low expectations of their abilities, thus hindering their access to and participation in the educational process. This phenomenon demonstrates the gap between the principle of human equality and the reality of discriminatory educational practices. This study aims to examine the concept of equality and human dignity from an Islamic educational perspective as a basis for responding to this stigma. The research used a qualitative approach with a library research method, examining primary and secondary sources related to the concept of humanity in Islamic education. The results of the study indicate that the concepts of karamah al-insan (human nobility), khalifah (human position as a trustee), and taqwa (parameters of nobility before God) can be synthesized into an ethical framework that affirms that physical or psychological differences do not make someone inferior, because human status is determined solely by piety, not physical condition or social background. This framework serves as a basis for Islamic education to eliminate stigma and build inclusive educational practices. This study concludes that Islamic education needs to reaffirm the principles of equality and human dignity as an ethical foundation for building an inclusive society for groups with disabilities.

Abstract

The advancement of digital technology and the widespread use of social media in the post-truth era have blurred the boundaries between fact and opinion, increasing the spread of hoaxes, misinformation, and disinformation. This situation requires journalism students to have critical thinking skills and fact-verification skills. However, learning in higher education is still limited in providing applicable and integrated learning experiences. This study aims to measure the effectiveness of QR-Fact Learning media in improving the fact-verification skills and understanding of students in the Islamic Communication and Broadcasting Study Program (KPI). The study used the Research and Development (R&D) method with the ADDIE model. Participants consisted of 60 KPI students of UIN North Sumatra who were selected through a purposive sampling technique. The research instrument was a questionnaire whose validity and reliability had been tested, as well as pre-test and post-test. The results of the validity test showed that all instrument items were valid (r count > 0.254), while the reliability test obtained a Cronbach's Alpha value of 0.81, which is categorized as reliable. Effectiveness analysis using the N-Gain test resulted in a score of 78%, categorized as effective. The findings indicate that QR-Fact Learning media is able to improve fact-verification skills. This media is worthy of being an innovative learning alternative to strengthen information literacy and face information challenges in the digital era.

Abstract

Play is a highly important activity for children's growth and development, contributing to nearly every aspect of development physical-motor, language, cognitive, socio-emotional, and religious values. This study explores the benefits of risky play in safety knowledge education for early childhood, drawing on Piaget's cognitive development theory, Vygotsky's zone of proximal development, and Bandura's social learning theory. Using a qualitative case study approach, the findings show that risky play such as climbing, jumping from heights, and playing in open areas with minimal supervision enhances children's understanding of their own capability limits and potential hazards in their surrounding environment. Through these experiences, children demonstrated an improved ability to independently assess risk (for example, judging a safe height for climbing or a safe speed for running), initiative in protecting themselves and alerting peers during risky situations, and the ability to transfer this safety knowledge to everyday contexts beyond play. Social interaction among children and the presence of positive role models both adults and peers further supported the internalization of this safety knowledge, indicating that risky play contributes not only to cognitive development but also to the formation of more autonomous safety behavior in early childhood.

Abstract

Principal supervision is a strategic pillar in building teacher professionalism, but its effectiveness on teacher work motivation in elementary schools in rural areas has received little attention in the educational management literature. From an Islamic perspective, supervision is a manifestation of the values of amanah and muraqabahbthe awareness of carrying out the responsibility of guidance before Allah SWT. This study aims to analyze the effectiveness of principal supervision and its relationship to the work motivation of public elementary school teachers in Koto Balingka District, West Pasaman Regency, using a quantitative approach with a descriptive correlational design. The population was 187 teachers from 14 public elementary schools, with a sample of 65 people determined using the Slovin formula and proportional random sampling. Data were collected using a Likert questionnaire that had been tested for validity and reliability, analyzed using descriptive statistics and Pearson correlation. The results showed that the effectiveness of supervision was in the fairly good category (mean = 3.12), with the feedback and follow-up dimension as the weakest point (2.91). Teacher work motivation was also quite good (3.27), with intrinsic motivation (3.47) higher than extrinsic motivation (3.06). There is a strong and significant positive relationship between the two variables (r = 0.612; p = 0.000; r² = 37.5%). This finding underscores the importance of strengthening supervisory competencies based on tarbiyah and ihsan values, particularly in areas with limited resources
