Abstract

The development of information technology has brought major changes in various aspects of life, including in the way of communication. The government and public institutions have begun to use social media to disseminate information, educate the public, and receive input and complaints effectively and faster.  However, the use of social media as a communication tool for Public Relations certainly has challenges. These challenges include strategies for managing the dissemination of information so that the message conveyed can be well received by various circles of society. This study discusses the effectiveness of the use of social media as a communication tool for Public Relations in the Bakalar Regency DPRD office. This study uses a qualitative approach with a descriptive type of research. Data were collected through observation, interviews, and documentation, and analyzed using data presentation, data condensation, and conclusion drawing techniques. The results of the study show that the effectiveness of the use of social media as a communication tool for Public Relations at the Takalar Regency DPRD office is considered less effective which is measured through four indicators, namely the attractiveness of social media is increased by presenting more varied and interesting content. The clarity of information conveyed through social media is enhanced through an orderly structure and the use of easy-to-understand language. The completeness of information requires more relevant content for the public in order to provide ease of access to the Takalar Regency DPRD's social media which utilizes social media platforms in disseminating information

Abstract

Academically and professionally, the ability to speak in front of an audience is crucial. Strong public speaking skills are essential for students enrolled in the Office Administration Education Study Program. Concerns such as fear of public speaking and ways to overcome them will be thoroughly investigated in this study. Better understanding these barriers and developing ways to overcome them will undoubtedly enhance students' educational experiences. This study will provide students with a better understanding of their needs, interests, and experiences. This can be useful in creating programs tailored to individual student needs. A total of 108 individuals participated in the study, randomly selected using a simple random sampling technique. The research approach was quantitative. A combination of descriptive data analysis and inferential statistical analysis was used to analyze data collected through observation, questionnaires, and documentation. Having a positive self-concept, acting independently in making judgments, believing in one's talents, and having the courage to share opinions are all signs of self-confidence. Meanwhile, indicators of public speaking competence are ethos, pathos, and logos communication styles. In the Office Administration Education Study Program, Department of Administrative Science, self-confidence has a positive and significant influence on students' public speaking skills (46.3%), while the remaining 54.7% is influenced by other variables not explained in this study

Abstract

The purpose of this study is to analyze the contribution of counseling services at the Correctional Center (Bapas) in supporting the social reintegration process of clients. As an institution that plays a crucial role in guiding inmates after their release from prison, Bapas has a responsibility to ensure that clients are able to function socially, psychologically, and economically in society. Counseling programs at Bapas are aimed at helping clients understand the social and legal consequences of criminal acts, change their life orientation, and improve the social skills necessary to adapt to their new environment. This study uses a literature review method with secondary data as the primary basis. Secondary data were obtained from various written sources, such as books, scientific journals, research reports, census results, and articles. An evaluation of the program's effectiveness indicates that the success of the service is strongly influenced by internal and external factors, such as client readiness, family support, the competence of the community counselor, the availability of facilities, and the responsiveness of the social environment. The study also reveals that structured, professional, and ongoing counseling and supervision can reduce the risk of recidivism and increase the chances of successful social reintegration. Thus, Bapas services play a strategic role in rebuilding clients' lives and strengthening social security in the community.

Abstract

Development extension is a communication and learning process aimed at improving community knowledge, skills, and participation in current sustainable development programs. This article aims to analyze the factors supporting the success of development extension strategies in the agricultural sector. A literature review was conducted using various relevant domestic studies. The results of the study indicate that the success of extension programs depends on various factors, including the extension workers, the targets, the methods and media used, the materials delivered, and support from relevant institutions. Extension worker performance is influenced by work experience and available facilities; target characteristics influence the level of participation in the program; methods and media significantly influence innovation adoption; the quality of materials determines the effectiveness of information delivery; and institutional support determines the sustainability of extension programs. Thus, the success of development extension programs cannot be seen from a single aspect but requires cooperation from all parties involved to achieve development goals optimally.

Abstract

This paper examined the essence of setbacks in sitting structures and buildings in Anambra Capital Territory (ACT). The aim is achieved through the objective, to determine the essence of setbacks in developmental projects in Anambra Capital Territory. As a result of non-compliance with road setbacks for development, ACT had become characterized by inadequate and deteriorated road network, walkways, unregulated building patterns, poor sanitation, uncontrolled street trading, mountains of garbage and chaotic transport system creating traffic and human congestion, noise pollution and overcrowding, among others. This work intends to address these issues and educate the citizens how road setbacks are essential. To achieve the stated aim, the study determined the essence of the sited structures to set standards in ACT. The foremost causes of non- compliance with road setbacks in ACT approved by professionals and non- professionals were also identified. The findings conclude that since there is a severe environmental effect in ACT, there is need for environmental education and awareness in the area, to educate the public on the importance of implementing road setbacks. When people understand the reasons for urban planning, they will be far less likely to violate the legal construction standards and will likewise make objections known.
