Abstract

This study examines the academic anxiety experienced by students enrolled in an intensive Quran memorization (tahfiz) program due to the conflict between strict memorization targets and conventional academic demands. As students are required to fulfill dual responsibilities as university learners and Quran memorizers, they often face challenges in managing time, energy, and academic expectations. The study aims to explain how students negotiate these overlapping roles, map the social relationships that influence their daily experiences, and analyze the implications of intensive religious education on their psychological well-being. The research employs an educational phenomenology approach to understand participants’ lived experiences in depth. Data were collected through non-participatory observation, in-depth interviews, and documentary analysis of schedules, memorization records, and institutional documents. The findings reveal that students experience considerable psychological pressure arising from rigid time management, demanding memorization targets, and academic performance requirements. Evidence from daily activity schedules and memorization logbooks indicates that these demands often contribute to stress and academic anxiety.However, the study also finds that strong social support from supervisors, peers, and family members plays a crucial role in reducing anxiety and enhancing students’ resilience. The study concludes that intensive tahfiz programs effectively cultivate religious discipline and commitment, but they may become counterproductive if not accompanied by integrated academic workload management, flexible learning strategies, and a sustainable social support system that promotes students’ overall well-being.

Abstract

The era of digital disruption has given rise to a moral crisis in cyberspace, where social media behavior is often detached from ethical values. Islamic Religious Education (PAI) has a significant responsibility to respond to this phenomenon so that religious teachings do not become merely static rituals, but rather dynamic guidelines in the digital world. Objective: This article aims to explore the concept of Digital Morals as a framework for social media ethics from an Islamic Religious Education (PAI) perspective. Method: This paper uses a critical analysis method by synthesizing religious texts (the Qur'an and Hadith) and contextualizing them with the reality of contemporary digital communication. Results: The analysis shows that the solution to digital moral decadence lies in internalizing the values ​​of Tabayyun, Siddiq, and Amanah as information filters. Digital Morals demands a transformation of the role of PAI from merely transferring knowledge to forming a sense of muraqabah (feeling God's supervision) in cyberspace. Conclusion: Through this analysis, it is concluded that Digital Morals within the PAI framework are not merely technical rules, but rather a form of social worship that is essential for realizing a healthy and civilized digital ecosystem. ​

Abstract

Islamic Educational Science (IES) faces critical dualism in knowledge frameworks and profound moral disruption in the contemporary era. This study comprehensively examines fundamental Islamic educational materials, spanning from crucial epistemological foundations, basic terminology deconstructions, overarching macro objectives, complex systemic components, to innovative non-dichotomous curriculum transformation models. By applying a critical literature analysis, the results reveal that restructuring the comprehensive IES curriculum fundamentally requires the organic integration of qauliyah verses (divine revelation) and kauniyah verses (empirical science) under a unified framework of Tawhid. Furthermore, this article clearly delineates how traditional prophetic teaching methodologies, including uswah hasanah (exemplary character), mau'izhah (compassionate advice), and hiwar (interactive dialogue), can be effectively revitalized into advanced 21st-century learning models. This optimization aims to produce Insan Kamil (the complete human) who are fully prepared to navigate modern digital technological shifts without losing their vital spiritual roots or cultural identity. The direct implication of this academic study provides a robust conceptual framework for contemporary Islamic educational institutions to design, develop, and implement an integrated curriculum that bridges sacred and profane sciences effectively.

Abstract

The purpose of this study was to determine the perceptions of fourth-sixth grade students at Parakankawung Elementary School in Tasikmalaya regarding religious culture through congregational Dhuha and Dzuhur prayers. The study subjects were fourth-sixth grade students, along with supporting informants from students, teachers, and the principal, using a descriptive qualitative approach. Data analysis utilized data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion drawing. Data collection techniques were conducted through observation, interviews, and documentation. As part of the school's religious culture, congregational Dhuha and Dzuhur prayers were implemented successfully. All first-sixth grade students participated in the Duha prayers, while only third-sixth grade students participated in the Dzuhur prayers. Generally, the perceptions of fourth-sixth grade students were positive, indicated by feelings of comfort, enjoyment, and awareness of the importance of these activities. These activities have impacted on religious awareness, increased discipline, and increased responsibility. However, some students still refrained from participating due to school regulations, which resulted in suboptimal internalization of religious values.   Keywords : Student perception, religious culture, Dhuha prayer, Dzuhur prayer in congregation.   ABSTRAK   Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui persepsi siswa kelas empat hingga enam di Sekolah Dasar Parakankawung di Tasikmalaya mengenai budaya keagamaan melalui shalat berjamaah Dhuha dan Dzuhur. Subjek penelitian adalah siswa kelas empat hingga enam, beserta informan pendukung dari siswa, guru, dan kepala sekolah, menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif deskriptif. Analisis data menggunakan reduksi data, penyajian data, dan penarikan kesimpulan. Teknik pengumpulan data dilakukan melalui observasi, wawancara, dan dokumentasi. Sebagai bagian dari budaya keagamaan sekolah, shalat berjamaah Dhuha dan Dzuhur dilaksanakan dengan sukses. Semua siswa kelas satu hingga enam berpartisipasi dalam shalat Dhuha, sedangkan hanya siswa kelas tiga hingga enam yang berpartisipasi dalam shalat Dzuhur. Secara umum, persepsi siswa kelas empat hingga enam positif, ditunjukkan oleh perasaan nyaman, senang, dan kesadaran akan pentingnya kegiatan ini. Kegiatan ini telah berdampak pada kesadaran keagamaan, peningkatan disiplin, dan peningkatan tanggung jawab. Namun, beberapa siswa masih menahan diri untuk berpartisipasi karena peraturan sekolah, yang mengakibatkan internalisasi nilai-nilai keagamaan yang kurang optimal.

Abstract

The rapid development of digital technology has significantly influenced the educational process, especially in elementary schools. Digital literacy has become an essential skill that supports students in accessing information, understanding learning materials, and participating actively in classroom activities. This study aims to analyze the role of digital literacy in increasing students’ learning interest in elementary school education. The research employed a qualitative descriptive method using observation, interviews, and literature studies as data collection techniques. The findings indicate that the implementation of digital-based learning media, such as educational videos, interactive quizzes, online learning platforms, and digital applications, can create a more engaging and enjoyable learning atmosphere for students. In addition, digital literacy encourages students to learn independently, improve critical thinking skills, and enhance creativity during the learning process. Teachers also play an important role in guiding students to use technology wisely, responsibly, and effectively in educational activities. The use of digital literacy in learning activities helps reduce boredom and increases students’ enthusiasm and participation in the classroom. Furthermore, technology-based learning enables students to access broader learning resources beyond textbooks. Therefore, the integration of digital literacy into elementary education can be considered an effective strategy to improve students’ learning interest and learning quality in the modern digital era.

Abstract

The fragmentation between religious knowledge and science remains one of the major challenges in contemporary Islamic education. This condition has weakened the holistic character of education and contributed to the emergence of learners who are intellectually capable but often detached from spiritual and ethical foundations. This article aims to analyze the reconstruction of Islamic educational thought through the integration of religious knowledge and science as a paradigm of knowledge. The study employs a qualitative approach using library research by examining various contemporary scholarly works on dichotomy of knowledge, Islamization of knowledge, integration-interconnection, and integrative Islamic education. The findings show that the integration of religious knowledge and science is not merely a curricular combination, but an epistemological effort to restore the unity of knowledge in Islam. This integration places revelation, reason, and empirical inquiry in a mutually reinforcing relationship. In addition, the integrative paradigm is relevant for strengthening curriculum development, learning processes, character formation, and the institutional transformation of Islamic education in the contemporary era. Thus, the reconstruction of Islamic educational thought requires an integrative, holistic, and contextual framework so that Islamic education can produce generations who are spiritually grounded, intellectually competent, and socially responsible.

Abstract

The purpose of this study is to examine future technological trends, including artificial intelligence, cryptocurrency, and biotechnology, along with the challenges they pose to Muslims from ethical and sharia perspectives. This research is considered significant in addressing the contemporary legal gap caused by the rapid pace of digital disruption. The study employs a qualitative method based on library research. Data were collected from scholarly articles, technology journals, fiqh literature, and fatwa documents, then analyzed through a normative-theological approach combined with the framework of Maqashid al-Shariah. The findings indicate that, according to the principle of al-ashlu fil asyya’ al-ibahah (the original ruling of things is permissibility), future technologies are generally considered permissible as tools or means. Artificial intelligence is not regarded as a legal subject (mukallaf), meaning that full responsibility remains in human hands. Cryptocurrency may be considered lawful when supported by real economic activities, but it becomes prohibited when it merely involves speculation or elements of maysir (gambling). Furthermore, gene editing is permissible when intended for medical treatment (tadawi), yet forbidden if aimed at altering God’s creation (taghyir khalqillah). The implications of this study may serve as a reference for fatwa institutions in formulating a more proactive digital fiqh, while also guiding Muslim technocrats in developing sharia-compliant technologies based on the priority needs of society. The uniqueness of this research lies in its integration of three major future technologies within a single Maqashid al-Shariah analytical framework presented in a practical, comprehensive, and accessible manner.
