Abstract

This study aims to determine the RTRW inconsistency index by analyzing the implementation of the Siak District Settlement RTRW, which is known from the comparison between land use and the Siak District RTRW. The land use map is generated from the SAS Planet high-resolution mind, and the settlement spatial plan map is generated from the 2020–2040 RTRW in Siak District. In addition, to find out the Siak District Settlement Spatial Plan based on disaster-prone areas, a flood disaster-prone analysis was carried out using the "weighted and scoring" method, which was then combined with the Siak District Settlement Spatial Plan Map to evaluate the suitability of settlement planning in Siak District, whether to avoid flood-prone areas or not. The results show that 33.0 percent of settlement land use is not in accordance with the regional spatial plan, and 48 percent of settlement planning is not suitable because it is in a very flood-prone area. Therefore, it is necessary for the Siak district government policy to evaluate the RTRW to be more consistent, pay attention to disaster-prone areas, and implement enforcement for spatial violators.

Abstract

Bukit Tigapuluh National Park (TNBT) is one of the national parks located on the island of Sumatra, known for its diverse protected fauna and flora, including the Sumatran Elephant. The surge in human activities such as poaching, forest fragmentation, and habitat destruction has led to an increasing potential for conflict between elephants and humans in the vicinity of TNBT. This study analyzes the potential distribution of conflicts between Sumatran elephants and humans around TNBT using the Maximum Entropy application, with conflict point data and environmental variables as references. The output of this research aims to analyze which environmental variables significantly contribute to Sumatran elephant and human conflicts (KGM) based on their distance from the conflict points. According to the modeling results, the environmental variables with significant contributions are forest edges and plantation areas, accounting for 48.1% and 24.8%, respectively, of the conflicts involving Sumatran elephants around TNBT. Tebo Regency is identified as an area highly prone to KGM around TNBT, with a total potential high-risk area covering approximately 46,685 hectares.

Abstract

Based on data from the Solok Regency Regional Disaster Management Agency, Solok Regency has experienced landslides spread across 13 sub-districts. Mapping the danger of landslides is needed for disaster management purposes. The Random Forest method can be used to determine the danger of landslides. Landslide records were obtained from field measurements at 101 points, 80% of the total points were used as training data and 20% for testing data. The AUC value obtained was 0.8533, which means the model is good at predicting landslide danger. The most dominant factors influencing the occurrence of landslides based on variable contribution values are slope slope with values (MDA= 58.89, MDG = 19.10), road distance (MDA = 42.47MDG = 9.54), and elevation (MDA = 24.41, MDG = 7.03). The landslide hazard map was reclassified into five hazard level classes obtained from probability values. The danger is very low (21.55%), low (18.81%), medium (24.78%), high (18.69%), and very high (16.18%).

Abstract

The city of Padang is one of the areas that has a high level of vulnerability to tsunami disasters. People can anticipate tsunamis, one of which is by building houses in a tsunami safe zone, but before many people do this anticipation, it is best to test the habitability of the settlement. The aim of this research is to find out habitable settlements in the tsunami safe zone of Padang City. This research uses a quantitative descriptive method by utilizing the Geographic Information System through a weighting and scoring method for each indicator. The results of the analysis show that there are 5 classes of vulnerability with a very low level of vulnerability dominating 43,089 Ha or 64.62%, in settlements in accordance with the Padang City Regional Spatial Plan, counting 11 sub-districts with livable settlements in accordance with the results obtained through weight calculations and scoring in each indicator is 2,635 Ha or around 23.87% of the total settlements in the Padang City Regional Spatial Planning Plan.

Abstract

Payakumbuh City is a developing region in West Sumatra. The area has undergone changes in land use due to an increase in the population, leading to a reduction in rice fields as they are converted into residential areas. The aim of this research is to identify the characteristics of changes in rice field land use in Payakumbuh and predict changes in rice field land use by the year 2032. The study utilizes SPOT images from 2019, 2019, and 2022. Driving factors inputted into LanduseSim include main road accessibility, secondary road accessibility, existing settlements, and rivers. The analysis results indicate a consistent decline in rice field land use in Payakumbuh. There has been a shift in the function of rice fields, with the most significant change being the conversion of rice fields into residential areas. Based on the predicted analysis of rice field land use from 2022 to 2032, only residential areas experience changes, with an additional area of 283.43 hectares. The results of the land change prediction in 2032 this can be used as a planning input to focus more on regional imbalances in border area.
