Abstract

The circular economy (CE) has emerged as a crucial paradigm for achieving resource efficiency and sustainability within Indonesia’s manufacturing sector. However, its implementation faces structural, technological, and regulatory challenges that hinder sustainable transformation. This study systematically reviews literature on CE implementation in Indonesian manufacturing to identify its drivers, barriers, and future research directions. Using the Systematic Literature Review (SLR) method guided by the PRISMA 2020 framework, data were collected from Scopus, Web of Science, and Google Scholar covering 2018–2024. Out of 462 records, 32 studies met the inclusion criteria after screening and quality assessment. Findings indicate that government policy support, digital technology readiness, and supply chain collaboration are key drivers, while limited funding, low organizational awareness, and fragmented regulation remain major barriers. This review contributes by proposing an integrative conceptual framework and outlining future research on circular business models and cross-sectoral policies to accelerate in Indonesia’s green economy transition.

Abstract

This case study examines the business discontinuity of PohonCoklat.co and reconsiders the widely accepted notion that a strong digital marketing strategy alone is sufficient to secure long-term business sutainability. Although the brand achieved notable digital performance–reflected in a steady 4.5% engagement rate accross social media and sustained visibility on major online marketplaces–the business ultimately ceased operations in mid-2023. Using a retrospective qualitative approach that incorporates document analysis and semi-structured interviews, this study reveals that the discontinuity was rooted not in marketing shortcomings, but in critical operational weaknesses. The main contributing factors included owner burnout driven by overly centralized decision-making, intensifying operational burdens caused by rising raw material prices and platform commission fees, and the lack of a scalable, decentralized system to distribute tasks effectively. These structural limitations progressively undermined profitability and constrained the company’s ability to respond to shifts in market demand. The findings highlight that digital marketing success cannot offset core operational deficiencies. Thus, this study asserts that sustainable digital business performance requires a strategic blend of marketing strength, robust operational frameworks, adaptive resource management, and long-term planning. The experience of PohonCoklat.co demonstrates that without these essential components, even digitally strong ventures remain vulnerable to stagnation and eventual closure.

Abstract

This reseach determine the effect of price and brand image on purchase intention for Elizabeth women's work bag products (a consumer study in Bandar Lampung). Elizabeth women's work bag products were chosen because this brand is quite popular among consumers, known as a long-standing player in the Indonesian bag industry with affordable prices and a positive brand image. The phenomenon underlying this research is the current trend regarding fashion as an important aspect when traveling, as well as a decrease in sales of Elizabeth women's work bag products, which were previously known to hold the first position in the Top Brand Index for the women's work bag category. This study uses a quantitative approach with a survey method through questionnaires distributed online to 120 respondents. The sampling technique used was purposive sampling with the criteria: domiciled in Bandar Lampung, aware of Elizabeth women's work bag products, and having the intention to purchase Elizabeth women's work bag products. Data were analyzed using multiple linear regression with the aid of SPSS. The results show that price and brand image have a significant effect on purchase intention for Elizabeth women's work bag products (Consumer Study in Bandar Lampung). This finding interprets that consumers who intend to buy Elizabeth women's work bag products will consider the factors of price and brand image in making a purchase. Thus, this research can serve as a basis for the Elizabeth brand in setting a competitive price and maintaining its quality or excellence to keep the positive brand image of the product.

Abstract

Using burnout as a mediating variable, this study looks at how technostress affects turnover intention among Gen Z workers in Surabaya. Based on the city's rapid digitization and widespread internet access, the study examines how technological advances can boost productivity and create difficulties associated with technology use. Technostress is defined as an unpleasant psychological state that results from a person's inability to adapt to the demands and advances of technology. Burnout, a condition of physical, emotional, and mental exhaustion brought on by ongoing job stress, is said to be the result of this strain for Gen Z, often known as "digital natives," who grew up with technology. Burnout can afterward result in the urge to quit. This study used a causal research design and a quantitative approach. An online survey was used to collect data, and Gen Z respondents in Surabaya were presented based on predetermined criteria, such as age and intention to utilize technology for employment. Data analysis tests the direct and indirect correlations between variables using structural equation modeling (SEM) based on Smart-PLS. The study's findings showed that technostress greatly reduces burnout. Additionally, it has been demonstrated that burnout greatly increases the intention to leave. The association between technostress and turnover intention is totally mediated by burnout, according to key findings, which means that increasing burnout fully explains how technostress affects turnover intention. The study's findings highlight the significance of organizational policies that go beyond limiting digital exposure to address burnout, particularly among Gen Z. In order to better understand the causal link and context of Gen Z's experience with technostress and burnout in an increasingly digital workplace, it is suggested that future studies employ a longitudinal gradual approach or a combination of qualitative and quantitative methodologies.

Abstract

Strengthening the governance of Village-Owned Enterprises (BUMDes) is a strategic step in realizing village economic independence, but its implementation in various regions still faces challenges such as weak management capacity, lack of transparency, low community economic literacy, and dominance of top-down decision-making models. These problems can also be seen in the context of Lembata Regency which shows the gap between the ideals of participatory governance and the reality of its implementation in the field. This study aims to analyze strategies to strengthen the governance of BUMDes through the application of participatory management principles in order to increase village economic independence. The research method uses a qualitative approach with a case study design, through data collection techniques in the form of in-depth interviews, observations, and analysis of institutional documents. The results of the study show that efforts to strengthen the governance of BUMDes can be effective if supported by clear internal regulations, increasing the capacity of human resources, an open transparency mechanism, expanding community participation space, and the development of local potential-based business units. Meanwhile, the main obstacles lie in the hierarchical culture, limited human resources, and weak public reporting system. This study emphasizes that the strategy of strengthening participatory management-based governance is an important foundation for the realization of inclusive, accountable, and sustainable village economic institutions.
