Abstract

This study aims to examine the role of digital media in civic education to strengthen social ethics among adolescents through a literature review. The method used is a literature study that analyzes national and international scientific articles published in the last five years (2019–2024). The findings indicate that digital media plays a significant role in promoting civic values and social ethics by providing interactive, relevant, and contextual learning experiences for adolescents. However, challenges such as the spread of hoaxes, hate speech, low digital literacy, and negative online behavior remain major obstacles. Therefore, integrated pedagogical strategies are required, including digital literacy, project-based learning, and collaboration among schools, families, and communities. With such approaches, digital media can serve as an effective instrument in shaping young generations to become ethical, critical, and responsible citizens.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the strategies employed by Pancasila Education teachers in instilling humanistic values within the Merdeka Curriculum at SMA Negeri 8 South Tangerang, as well as to identify the challenges encountered in its implementation. The background of this research is based on the phenomenon of students’ individualistic attitudes influenced by technology, the lack of parental supervision, and differences in teachers’ approaches to learning. This study employed a qualitative method with a descriptive approach. Data were collected through observation, in-depth interviews, and documentation, and were analyzed using Miles and Huberman’s model, which consists of data reduction, data display, and conclusion drawing. The findings reveal that the strategies for instilling humanistic values were carried out through case-based learning, group discussions, and project-based learning, emphasizing six core values: respecting others’ opinions, cooperation, self-sacrifice, caring for others, mutual assistance, and solidarity. The challenges encountered included internal factors such as students’ individualistic attitudes, and external factors such as social environment influences, popular culture, and the limited role of parents. Nevertheless, these obstacles can be overcome through personal approaches, motivation, and the creation of a conducive classroom atmosphere. This study provides implications for teachers, schools, and parents to collaborate in strengthening the cultivation of humanistic values, thereby supporting the achievement of national education goals in shaping a generation with noble character.

Abstract

The era of globalization presents significant challenges for Islamic educational institutions, particularly traditional Islamic boarding schools (pesantren), which must balance the preservation of Islamic values with adaptation to global demands. This study aims to analyze the leadership strategies employed by Pondok Pesantren Darussalam Gontor in facing the global era while maintaining its Islamic identity and educational quality. The research employed a qualitative methodology with a phenomenological research design, conducted as a field study at the modern Islamic boarding school of Darussalam Gontor in Ponorogo, East Java. Data were collected through in-depth interviews with 15 key informants including the leadership board, senior teachers (ustadz), and alumni, supplemented by participant observation and document analysis over a six-month period from January to June 2024. The findings reveal that Gontor implements a multi-dimensional leadership strategy encompassing five key areas: curriculum integration that combines traditional Islamic studies with modern sciences at a 60:40 ratio, technological adaptation through digital learning platforms used by 95% of students, international networking with 127 affiliated institutions across 18 countries, alumni empowerment programs reaching over 80,000 graduates worldwide, and sustainable institutional development with annual growth rates of 8-12% in student enrollment. The leadership adopts a transformational approach that emphasizes vision alignment, cultural preservation, and adaptive innovation. The study concludes that Gontor's success in navigating globalization stems from its ability to maintain core Islamic values while embracing selective modernization, creating a unique educational model that produces globally competitive graduates who remain firmly rooted in Islamic principles and Indonesian cultural identity.

Abstract

This article aims to analyze how Islamic organizational culture contributes to creating a conducive school climate in madrasas. The study uses a systematic literature review approach to primary sources in the form of scientific journals and academic books. The data collection stages include identifying sources through academic databases, filtering based on topic relevance and scientific quality, and final selection based on novelty and depth of analysis. Data are analyzed through thematic analysis to identify value patterns, conceptual synthesis, and development of a theoretical framework. The analysis results reveal five pillars of Islamic organizational culture: sincerity, trustworthiness, deliberation, spiritual discipline, and exemplary behavior (uswah hasanah), which synergistically create a harmonious, participatory, noble-moral school climate conducive to holistic learning. These findings emphasize that Islamic education management must be rooted in value transformation, not merely procedural compliance, and provide a conceptual contribution to the development of a values-based madrasa model in the contemporary era.
