Abstract

The prevalence of anemia in Indonesia among teenagers is 32%, which means that 3-4 out of 10 Indonesian teenagers suffer from anemia. Low intake or entry of iron and other nutrients into the body, for example vitamin A, vitamin C, folate, riboflavin, B12, and errors in consuming iron, for example when consuming iron together with other substances, can interfere with the process of iron absorption. . Ascorbic acid is one of the components that can trigger the strongest absorption of iron. Pineapples, which belong to the Bromeliaceous family, are a fruit that can increase iron absorption in the intestine. Pineapple plants have long been cultivated by farmers in Jambi Province, this plant is cultivated on a commercial scale in Muaro Jambi Regency. One way to increase health knowledge is by providing education. Education can be done using various media, one of which is an online pocket book (e-booklet). This community service activity was carried out for 30 teenagers who were students at MAN 1 Muaro Jambi from September 2022 to February 2023. The solution given was to provide health education regarding the use of pineapple to prevent adolescent anemia using the counseling method. Knowledge is assessed through the results of filling out a questionnaire. Monitoring and evaluating activities using the One Group Pretest and Post-test Design approach. The expected output target is increased knowledge between before and after being given education.   The result of the service was an increase in knowledge after being given education on pineapple fruit to prevent anemia, so that young women can make good use of local plants to overcome anemia.

Failure to reduce anemia can result in millions of women experiencing health and quality of life problems, can interfere with development and learning. Anemia is more common in young women, because it is the age group that needs the most nutrients. The purpose of this community service activity is to increase young women's knowledge about anemia. The problem-solving method used is to provide education about anemia to young women starting with a pre-test followed by delivery of counseling materials about anemia to young women and ending with a post-test and distributing leaflets and posters about anemia. Community service activities carried out for one day at Integrated Dayah Al Madinatuddiniyah Syamsuddhuha, Dewantara District, North Aceh Regency with 30 target audiences, resulted in an increase in knowledge during the pre test in the good category, namely 57% to 87% during the post test after being given counseling about anemia .Participants were enthusiastic about the education delivered, no one left the counseling area, this proved that the participants paid attention to the counseling material delivered. It is expected that health workers and teachers will provide information about anemia to young women as an effort to increase knowledge by activating peers so that information is conveyed to young women continuously so that they can prevent and treat anemia as early as possible.

Abstract

Indonesia shows a relatively high prevalence of stunting, which was 27,67% in 2019 at the national level. Stunting or short stature in early childhood is a social health problem that must be addressed. The definition of stunting is that the height index according to age (TB/U) is less than minus two standard deviations (<-2 SD) compared to the growth standards of toddlers or having a height that is less than it should be achieved at a certain age. The occurrence of stunting begins in the first 1000 days of life (0–23 months) and continues until the age of 5 years. In children under the age of 5 years, stunting can cause impaired physical development, inhibition of mental growth, late motor development, and long-term effects on cognitive development until adulthood. Stunting can be prevented early, therefore the service team took the initiative to educate GEMES (Community Movement to Prevent Stunting) at Posyandu Al-Munawaroh, Sungai Landai Village, Mestong District, Muaro Jambi Regency. The method of service carried out is the provision of material on the meaning of 1000 HPK and an explanation of the causes, impacts, and prevention of stunting. Methods of implementing activities include planning, monitoring, and evaluation. The result of this service was an increase in the knowledge of mothers who had toddlers about the education provided related to GEMES from 56.3% (before being given education) to 88.8% (after education).

Abstract

The construction work sector is one of the work sectors that has a high risk of experiencing work accidents because work in this sector uses a lot of machines, materials, workplaces, and a dangerous work environment. Many workers in this sector do not know and understand about occupational safety and health (OHS), while OHS knowledge is a basic need for construction workers. Without basic knowledge of OSH, workers will not realize that there are many hazard factors that can cause accidents or work-related illnesses. This Community Service activity is expected to enable workers to recognize dangerous factors in the workplace and how to control them to minimize the occurrence of work accidents. Educational activities about occupational safety and health for construction workers were held for construction workers on the X school building renovation project in Jakarta, totaling 15 workers. After this activity is held, workers can understand K3, such as the definition and objectives of K3, definition of hazards and risks, risk control and are able to identify hazards in their current work. In the future, it is hoped that K3 training will be held with a more specific theme regarding construction work
