Abstract

MSMEs are the backbone of Indonesia's economy. One of the challenges currently faced by MSMEs is operational difficulties, including limited financial and administrative capacity. This limitation makes it difficult for MSMEs to prepare working capital and meet short-term obligations. The objective of this research is to analyze financial management in five MSMEs in the Tuban and Bojonegoro regencies and provide assistance in cash flow management. This assistance is expected to improve financial and administrative capacity, thereby benefiting their business development. Assistance was provided to five MSMEs, namely Toko Kelontong Nurul Muttaqin and Hijab by Azkia Scraft from Bojonegoro, Hendry Aldy MUA, Mebel UD Jaya Makmur, and Toko Kelontong Subur Makmur from Tuban. The research results refer to four indicators of financial management and show that all MSMEs studied use budgeting plans, keep simple records, and exercise adequate control. However, not all MSMEs understand the reporting indicators in their financial statements. The analysis results from this research will serve as material for the assistance provided over approximately three months

Abstract

Pabean Village, located in Dringu Subdistrict, has significant potential for developing creative economy-based tourism. However, limited human resources and expertise in the tourism sector remain major obstacles to fully realizing this potential. In 2023, the UPN Mengabdi team conducted a community service program in this village, focusing on assisting in the development of educational tourism packages. The program aimed to optimize the potential of local MSMEs, crafts, culture, home industries, livestock, plantations, and agriculture in the area. Currently, the residents of Pabean Village primarily sell raw shallots, with some processing them into fried shallots. However, there have been no initiatives to transform shallots into ready-to-eat food products with higher market value. Local ingredients hold significant potential for being creatively developed into a variety of new culinary products. Based on this background, the UPN “Veteran” Jawa Timur community service team designed a training program that includes: 1) Training on creating Pabean Village’s signature souvenirs, such as various ready-to-serve sambal products, and 2) Training on developing cooking class-based tourism packages, targeting families, school children, and women’s groups as the primary tourist segments

Abstract

Micro and medium-sized enterprises are important in driving the local economy, especially in rural areas such as Alaspandan Village, which has natural potential in cassava leaves. Processing cassava leaves into chips produces added value and opens up employment opportunities for the local community. This study analyzes the marketing strategy and calculation of the Break-Even Point (BEP) in the "Alspand" cassava leaf chips MSME in Alaspandan Village, Pakuniran District, Probolinggo. Using qualitative methods and descriptive analysis, data were obtained through interviews and direct observation of the production and marketing processes. The study results indicate that marketing strategies based on marketing mixes including distribution, price, promotion, and products still need improvement. The use of social media is recommended to expand promotions. Meanwhile, the BEP calculation shows that MSMEs must sell 275 kg of chips or achieve a sales value of IDR.3.055.555 to reach the break-even point. These results serve as a reference for MSMEs in developing effective pricing and marketing strategies to increase sales and profitability. This study contributes by guiding MSMEs in making strategic decisions that are oriented toward sustainable business development
